Manicure of the Moment

Hello kittens. How is this fine day treating all of you?

Today I have a look that is different from my usual. I have been wearing so many dark, intense colours that I kind of got a craving for something soft, girlie and gentle. But not boring. :)

Enter Pure Ice Busted. I bought this at WalMart a few weeks ago, after seeing a pic of it layered over black in someone's blog. I purchased it for layering but after swatching deep colours, today I decided to see what I thought of it all on it's own.

I must say, I like it. Busted is a sheer purple with a colour shifting shimmer that reminds me of miniature flakies. Depending on the light in which it is viewed and the angle, it looks purple, pink, fuchsia, even gold and gold with a beautiful but elusive green fleck. I applied three coats and it is still quite sheer. Honestly, I don't think that this polish could be opaque if you paid it to try. Or applied so many coats that your nails would never dry. lol I topped this manicure with Seche Vite.

I tried to capture all of the different colours and shades that this polish can morph into but my camera and the lighting and my half-assed photography skills weren't quite up to the job. But I think I was able to show how pretty this polish is.

All of these photos were taken in direct sun.

The formula of this polish is pretty nice. Not too thin, not thick, it applied smoothly and was easy for even this nail painting challenged gal to control. I had nearly no cleanup after applying three coats. I am not wild about the brush... It is a cheaper classic round brush; not great, not terrible. At two dollars, this polish is definitely worth grabbing. Especially if you enjoy colour shifting, shimmery goodness on your nails, worn alone or layered. :)

I swatched and photographed my new frankens, today. I am no franken-spert but I think I hit upon some pretty formulas. And I have ideas for more. I will post pics once I get them all culled, cropped and ready to go.

Okay, I guess I should run along. Thank you so much for popping in. Have a terrific afternoon and may your polish never bubble.
