Manicure of the Moment

Hello gentle readers. How is everyone? I hope that you are all having a great day.

Today I have a new polish that I recently bought at my local Sally Beauty. This is Orly Sapphire Silk from their Spring collection. Boy, oh boy... Is this polish ever pretty! It is a beautiful almost teal blue with a softly dusty/greyed quality. This is a creme who definitely has a lot of jelly in her DNA. This polish is creamy, silky and opaque, like a creme and is also gooey (in a good way!), translucent, shiny and squishy like a jelly. The best of both, all combined in one little bottle. Application was dreamy. The formula is nearly perfect, easy to control and flows nicely. Dry time is a teensy bit slow, even with Seche Vite. But this beauty is worth a little extra time.

Depending on the light, this lovely polish looks more blue or more teal. All photos were taken in partly sunny/cloudy light with no flash. Please forgive my poor cuticles and skin. I did some swatches and a few comparisons until my poor cuticles cried uncle. I had to get some done... I was feeling guilty about the number of polishes in my untried box, so I thought that the best way to get over it would be to swatch some of them and move them to my tried box. Swatching counts as worn. Right? :D Now, when I buy more polish, I won't have to feel so guilty. And there will be room in my untried box, again.

Do you own this polish? Have your eyes on it? Please share.

Thank you so much for popping in. Have a great evening and may your polish never bubble.

  1. That is a pretty blue. I purchased Royal Velvet from that collection and may have to go back for this one.

  3. I don't have this one. This color seems familiar to me. Not that it's a polish color that's been around but, something from the past, retro-like, 50's??? I can't quite put my finger on it.

    Your swatches are divine!

  4. Thank you. I really like this polish. A lot. :D

Kimberly, I kind of know what you mean... This shade feels very familiar to me. Yet I can't pin it down to a specific polish.

Royal Velvet is on my must get list. I waaaant that polish! And Star of Bombay, too... :D

  6. This is the one polish I picked up from this collection, and I love it! It's pretty unique, and you're right about it appearing slightly teal in some lights, it definitely seemed that way for me too. Gorgeous photos of it!
