Review: Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer

Hello Gentle readers.

Today I have a quick review for you. This is Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer. A silicone based treatment that helps to smooth skin before makeup application.

I purchased this primer at my local Walmart. I paid eight dollars for it.

Sheer Envy is a lightweight primer with a very silky texture and incredible slip. It is white when it comes out of the tube but turns clear as it is smoothed on. A very small amount is all that is needed. A drop about the size of a pea is plenty. After I apply treatment and moisturiser and let it all sink in for a few minutes, I smooth Sheer Envy Primer on from my hairline to down my neck and decollete, including around my eyes. I have very sensitive eyes and this primer doesn't cause me any irritation or redness. I let it set up for a few moments, then I apply my concealer and foundation.

My foundation and concealer slide on like a dream and my overall finish is smoother than without primer. This primer helps my makeup to last longer than it does when I don't use it. Call me crazy, but I think that my eye colour and blush even look better, when I use this primer. I don't experience any breakouts or irritation to my skin when I use it. Remember, everyone's skin is different, YMMV.

One thing about this primer you might want to be aware of, is that it separates. I give it a quick shake, shake, shake before I squeeze out the amount I want to use that day.

I like this primer. I have been using it for a couple of months, now and I continue to be impressed by it. It does what it is supposed to do, is easy to find and it is affordable, too. It is good stuff and I recommend it.

Do you own this primer? What do you think of it?

Thank you so much for popping in and have a great day.

  1. I bought this a couple months ago, but after reading your review I guess mine was old, the texture was a bit waxy with chunks... anyway I used it a couple of times and made me break out so I threw it out...

  2. I'm looking more and more at this cosmetic line, but haven't purchased any yet. I don't seem to do well with primer - doesn't like my skin (I do better with tinted moisturizer) but I love the review. I would love to see if you've used any of their baked eye shadow and what you think of it? or bronzer?
