Colour Story: Yellow

Hello gentle readers. How is your weekend? Mine is cold! Clouds! Snow! In April. Crazy stuff. That is what we get for living at higher altitude. Crazy weather. lol

Today, I am doing the first of what I hope will be many colour stories. These aren't really comparisons. They are just a fun way to show several colours, different shades and tones in the same hue. Today's hue is yellow. A bright, sunny colour to brighten and warm up a dark, cold, cloudy day.

Wet-N-Wild Collecting Pollen, Orly Lemonade, China Glaze Lemon Fizz and Sinful Colors Unicorn.

Index to pinkie in the same order as above.

 Pics taken in direct sun.

 With basecoat, no topcoat.

All nails are wearing three coats.

That is not a streak on my pinkie. That is my fabulous (not!) huge ridge making an obnoxious pain of it's self.

While I wasn't doing a real comparison or even looking for dupes, I will say, Orly Lemonade and China Glaze Lemon Fizz are extremely close, if not actual dupes. Both are beautiful to apply with China Glaze edging Orly a little bit in smooth, silky creaminess. The Wet-n-Wild and Sinful are similar, but not perfect dupes. They are crellys, meant to be cremes but much more jelly, they have a lovely translucency and actually come out squishy. They are both slightly streaky with the first coat, Sinful is a bit smoother than Wet-N-Wild, but they are both lovely when they are complete.

Bright, sunny yellows. I think it is wonderful and a little hilarious that I actually do own four yellow polishes. :D

So, there you have it. My first colour story. What do you think of this feature? Like it? Hate it? I would love to hear your honest opinion.

Okay, time for me to run along. Dinner is ready and husband and son ran over to pick it up. MIL made a delectable roast, so tonight we feast and mama didn't have to cook. Yay! :D

Thank you so much for popping in. Have a great evening and may your polish never bubble.

  1. Interesting comparison. I'm always on the look out for non-streaky, two coat pastels. Thank you.

  2. Besides the Wet n' Wild lacquer,
(pollen = allergies for some people; D:)
the names of the other polishes are cute.
Very summer-y, and I like the comparison.
It IS difficult to find quality pastels.

  3. Ahh! I have been trying to pick a pale yellow polish to buy (I own a darker one but I hate it on me) and now I want to see if I can find the W&w at walgreens tonight. Thank you!
