Manicure of the Moment

Hello gentle readers. Happy Sunday. Cold Sunday. Brrr! I am so ready for it to warm up! Enough of this late Winter crap.

Today I have a beautiful polish to show you. OPI DS Sapphire. A silvery blue with beautiful linear holo. The holo is not as in your face as some, it is a little softer, a little more subtle. It kind of reminds me of OPI What's Dune? in that respect. I applied two coats and topped it with Poshe`.

I had a heck of a time getting sunshine pics of this manicure. Just as I got to polishing, huge banks of thick clouds came blowing in. Covering the sun and making me crazy. Gah! What is it with the frakking clouds when I want to show a holo?

I did get some sun and a chance to fire off the pics I needed while the sun peeked out. This polish is highly reflective and it freaked the heck out of my camera. But I think I managed to get some fair shots. All pictures are clickable to knock your eyeballs out, if you like. :)

I really need to learn how to better photograph holos because these photos are not capturing the true beauty of this polish and I am frustrated with my inability to get it right.

The formula is OPI delicious. The brush just makes it that bit much more yummy. It applied beautifully, nearly lying it's self down exactly as I wanted it to. What little cleanup I had was just fussbudget refining. I topped this with Posche` topcoat.

This polish is a bit sheer and I have a little VNL. It doesn't really bother me, but if VNL drives you buggy, you would probably want to wear underwear, use it for layering or apply at least three coats.

What do you think of OPI DS Sapphire? Win? Do you own this lovely beauty?

Okay, I have been hit with a frakking migraine and I am losing my ability to look at my monitor or type so I am outie. Thank you so much for popping in. Have a terrific evening and may your polish never bubble.

  3. Haha thank you so much for really showing this! It looks wonderful on you! I doubt I'll ever be able to find this though. Even if I do, I don't think it'll look good on me because I'm not as fair, and colours this light tend to give me dirt hands.=P

  4. It is a beautiful mani and polish. I find the best way I photograph a holo is to let go of the bottle and take photos of my nails on the slant. Yes, you don't see the nail full on - but you can get some awesome holo effects.

I'm sorry you are sick AND its cold and icky. Double whammy for this time of year. Take care and I hope you get to feeling better very soon.
