Manicure of the Moment

Hello gentle readers. Happy Sunday. I felt like doing a fresh mani and a little nail art but I needed something fast and easy, since I am in the middle of doing laundry. The other day I was reading blogs and I ran across this googly eyes manicure (isn't it too stinking cute? :D) And I decided to do something similar on my nails, today. I mean what could be quicker and easier (and cuter?) than a quick base colour and some dots? I was loading my towels into my dryer and mentally going over my polish stash, trying to decide what colours I wanted to use when it hit me: Why not black and white? Like cartoon characters in a dark room, where you just see their white eyeballs and black pupils moving around in a deep sea of black. Thus was born my version of the googly eyes manicure. I used Color Club Milky White Base Coat and a fast coat of Wet-N-Wild black creme polish. I let the polish dry for a minute then I used my largest dotting tool to make the eyeballs with Sinful Colors Sno

Review: Rimmel Natural Bronzer

Hello gentle readers. I have a beauty review for you, today. I have used bronzers for many years. I consider a good bronzer to be a necessary part of my makeup arsenal. Being of the paler persuasion, a good bronzer gives me a nice kiss of colour without my having to expose my delicate flower face to the harsh rays of the Arizona sun. A bad bronzer, however can make me look like a terracotta clay pot or as if I rubbed my face in the dirt. Not good looks, if you ask me. I have never wished to look like an Oompa Loompa or like a grubby toddler who has spent the afternoon playing in the sandbox. My criteria for a good bronzer is a soft, light golden tan/brown with a slightly pink undertone. No orange and any shimmer must be subtle. Price is also important to me as I am on a screamingly tight beauty budget. In my honest opinion, bronzer is one of those items that, unless you are wedded to department store brands only, you don't need to pay a lot of money for. I have used both high

Maybelline Express Finish in Coraliscious: a Review

Hello gentle readers. This evening I have a review of a polish that I had such high hopes for. Hopes that were dashed upon the rocks after painting only two nails. I don't have swatches of this polish to show you. I will explain why, shortly. This is Maybelline Express Finish nail enamel in Coraliscious. This is one of a limited edition collection for Summer. (I think...). I bought this polish at my local Walgreen's. I considered buying more than one of the polishes in the collection, as they had some great colours to be had but changed my mind, since I wanted to see how I liked one before I invested in more colours. Boy am I ever glad I did! Let us begin with the photographs. These are clickable, if you want to see them gigantor.  In sun. In shade. I want to start by saying something nice about this polish. The nice thing was the colour. This was a true, old fashioned slightly red tinged coral colour. It looks a bit more orange in the bottle, but on the nail it is the
