Manicure of the Moment ~~ Lots and Lots of Pictures :D

Hello gentle readers. It is warming up, here! Starting to feel a little like Summer. I will be firing up my A/C in a little while. :)

Okay. Enough nattering. On to the reason we are really here.

OPI DS Original. Soft, light plum sheer base packed with glorious linear holo. Gah! This stuff is gorgeous. I applied two coats and topped it with Seche Vite. I do have a little VNL but I don't mind it so two coats was plenty for me. If you are bugged by VNL, you will want to apply at lest three, possibly four coats.

Okay I am going to shut up and get to the pictures, now. They are clickable to get a real eyeful of the fabulousity, if you are so inclined.

We will start with the obligatory bottle in it's box shot that I should have taken and posted, last night. I just popped it back in and taped it closed so I could show it as it arrived. The box was all properly sealed when I received it. ;)

In shade. Soft, light plum with a gentle shimmer. Pretty.

Then you take it out in the sun...

Buh-Bam!!!!
Get ready for pictures. Tons of pictures. I shot fifty of this mani and this is as far as I could cull the herd. lol

I wish that my poor old camera could have captured the scintillating, gorgeous holo in this polish. It did okay but honestly, as pretty as this stuff is in photographs, it is ten, twenty times more beautiful in person.

OPI Designer Series Original is a gorgeous formula. It is a little sheer, multiple coats are necessary if you want a completely opaque finish. I applied and was happy with two coats. This polish applies like a dream. So smooth and perfect. The Pro Wide brush sets this polish softly down right where you want it and sleeks it up the nail nearly flawlessly. I had almost no cleanup and that was just fussbudget stuff where I goobered my application, slightly. Seriously, this polish behaves beautifully. Dry time is really good. As with the other OPI DS holos in my little polish family, topcoat doesn't dull the gorgeous in the least.

I paid twenty dollars for this polish. An extreme amount for a polish, to me. And it is worth every penny I paid. Unfortunately my appetite for these beautiful holo polishes is hardly satisfied. I am going to have to, slowly but surely hunt down the others. My husband is going to love hearing that! lol

Do you own DS Original? Love it? Looking for it? I wish. I wish I had bookmarked the Amazon page where I found this. I tried to find it so I could link it but I can't find it, again. I will keep trying, tho and if I find it I will link it.

Thank you so much for popping in and spending a little time with me. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

  1. Very pretty! It seems similar (but not a dupe) to Color Club's Fashion Addict the lilac with holo in it (which I'm wearing right now). I'm loving the holo trend though, so pretty I just wish I could get my hands on the DS OPI polishes for myself!

  6. I love it! Such a stunning colour :-) I only have a silver holographic polish. I love it but I'm really after a pink/purple one too.

  7. I love it. I'm going to have to look for it. Do you apply it alone or over another color like some of the glitter polishes? I will see if the salon has this one.
