Teeny Greeny Bikini is a light green jelly base packed with metallic green, gold and silver shimmer that combines to give the nails a foiled look. This polish is very shiny, sparkly in the sun and really pretty. I applied two coats and topped it with Seche Vite. In person this manicure is opaque... Out in the sun it shows all kinds of VNL. Weird.
Photographs? :D Don't forget to click to get an eyeful of the fine, multicoloured sparkle that fires off of this polish in the sun.
Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear in Teeny Greeny Bikini has a nice enough formula. It is... Thick but not. It applies smoothly as long as you don't attempt to overwork it too much. This polish is easy to control. Good thing, since having to do a lot of cleanup just results in a lot of scatter shot. Foils are kinda freaky, that way. Every one I own makes a nice, sparkly mess of it's self when you go after it with a brush and acetone, so polish foils with a little care to minimize cleanup. And I do it on each nail, each coat to further minimize the sparkly stuff going all over the place.
This polish dries in good time. I am pretty happy with the finish. It is smooth and very shiny and there are few brush stokes in evidence.
I honestly didn't like this colour all that much when I first applied it. The polish, it's self I liked just fine but I wasn't sure about the colour. This shade is an in between lime and medium green that can be awkward for some people, myself included, to wear. But the longer I have it on, the more I play with it in the sun and admire the pretty, pretty sparkle, the more I like it. So, this colour may be a keeper. We'll see. And I will say, this polish is prettier in person than my poor old busted down camera can show. lol
Have you picked up some of these new Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear polishes? Liking them? Want some more, like I do? Please do tell. :)
Bonus kitteh pictures time!
Marley says, "Mmm! Cantaloupe!"
"Give me Some cantaloupe, mama!"
*sigh* "Cantaloupe! I want you soooo much!"
"Om! Nom! Nom! Nom!"
Marley knows that setting paws my kitchen counters is a huge no-no. He is a very good boy and never gets up on my counters. (He has learned to stay off of my dining table, too. He is a smart kitteh! :D) But when I am in my kitchen preparing something in which he might be interested, he sits on that windowsill, right next to my counter and watches and mooches, licks his lips and meows at me until he gets his share.
Thank you so much for popping in. Have yourself a terrific evening and may your polish never bubble.
