Manicure of the Moment

Hello gentle readers.

How is everyone? Well, I am hoping.

I missed all of you, yesterday. I didn't do anything with my nails because I was kinda busy. I built myself a light box. :D Sadly, I am unable to use it yet because my lighting idea sucked big green donkey dicks. I thought that a couple of cheapie clamp lamps from the hardware store and GE Reveal bulbs would give me the clean, bright light needed for light box shots. Wrong!

GE claims that the Reveal bulbs give pure, bright, clean light. Not. The light from those bulbs is just as yellow, the colours in my photographs just as muddy and dull as with any other incandescent lights.

Clean, white light, my ass. lol Shoulda read the fine print on the package. It said that the photo was enhanced to play up the clean, white light claim. Pffft! Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for. That'll teach me to be a cheap-ass. Time to break down and get an OTT light. Should have just picked one up, in the first place.

Live and learn.

Okay, 'nuff of that shit. :P

Time to show you my nails. Today I applied two coats of Sinful Colors Savage. A matte teal crelly. I can hear you saying to yourself, "Huh? Matte? Crelly? Is she crazy?"

Yeah. I am.

But that is beside the point of this discussion. ;) This is a matte crelly. It is very smooth and translucent wet, in the bottle. It dries matte but looks crelly when topped with a shiny top coat. But, since it dries matte, I decided to rock the matte and topped it with Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love. I am not really big on matte finishes but I enjoy it, now and then for a day or two and since this manicure is scheduled to die tomorrow morning, matte, it is.

As you can see, my nails are shorter. I decided to file them down a little, since they were getting a bit long and a few of them were getting a pretty serious curl. My right middle finger was starting to get stress cracks along the lines where the nail curled and glue didn't work and I didn't really want to patch, so I grabbed my file and took them down. They still feel long, to me and typing sure is a lot easier! :D

On to the photographs. This polish is teal green, but it reads more blue and is a bit washed out in these photographs. Stoopid camera!

In sunshine.

In dappled shade. I tried to get my camera to read the green. *sigh* Didn't happen. It still looks more blue that it really is.

Sinful Colors Savage is a nice polish. It is thick, but not gloopy, applies smoothly and sits right down where it is placed. I had minimal cleanup painting on this polish. That is always impressive, in my case. Two coats gave me a smooth, opaque finish when matte. Don't know what it would be like, shiny. Maybe I'll slap on some Seche Vite, later and see. Dry time with this polish is highly respectable. It dries matte and to the touch very quickly. A matte top coat made for a quick and get on with it kind of manicure.

I like this colour. It is a keeper.

Do you own this polish? Think that you might like to? Savage is widely available wherever Sinful Colors is sold. In fact, Walgreen's has all Sinful Colors polishes on sale for ninety-nine cents all this week.

Okay. I need to run along. I am thinking that another cup of coffee would go down very nicely, right now. Thank you all so much for popping in. Have yourselves a terrific day, stay cool out there and may your polish never bubble.
