Autumn All Over My Nails

Hello gentle readers. What's shaking?

Today I decided to have a little fun and show my Autumn spirit with some stamping nail art. The other day I had an idea for stamping leaves on my nails. I didn't want all one colour leaves... I love the gold against a dark color but I really wanted multicoloured leaves, like you see on the trees this time of year. I had an idea of how I could accomplish it, so I grabbed some printer paper and a bunch of polishes and started experimenting. I discovered to my delight that it was a good idea and I learned what polishes worked better for me and on what colour background. Turns out, since I don't have "stamping" polishes in the colours I wanted to use I had to use regular polish and that a white background was best. Against blue or grey, the leaves looked faded and washed out.

I started with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow and a coat of Seche Vite. I let that dry for a while, did some other stuff, then got to stamping. I used BM 04 and China Glaze Westside Warrior, City Siren and Papaya Punch and Color Club Almost Famous for the leaves. Then I applied a coat of China Glaze Golden Enchantment to give a warm little sparkle and take down the harsh, stark white of the background a bit. Then I topped everything with Revlon Quick Dry top coat then a coat of Seche Vite. I'm pretty happy with how my nails came out. I could have done better on the stamping... But I think it looks pretty decent. :)

 What a mess! But fun.

My nails are pretty thick, I applied a lot of coats. lol I want this mani to last a good few days so that my cuticles can recover from my marathon swatching session, yesterday. I was able to get all of my Color Club Back to Boho collection polishes swatched, photographed and uploaded. I am in the throes of editing the photographs now and will be able to post them, soon.

It is crazy windy here, today. It could blow a girl's hair off! We had some huge gusts, earlier and they ripped the cover right off of my grill and blew it away. The cover was nowhere to be found. When husband came home for lunch, I had him take my grill down and stash it in the garage. It will be safe from rain and so forth, down there until we can get another cover and bring it back up to the patio.

Okay, so I hope that you like the leaves. If you have any questions about how I did them, please don't hesitate to ask. I am happy to help in any way I can. Thank you so much for stopping by, have a great day and may your polish never bubble.
