Hot enough for you? Woof! Talk about the Dog Days!
Today I have a pretty polish to show you that should take your mind off of the sweltering temps for a moment. Orly Rage. Rage is the rose gold sister in the Triplet collection of Rage, Luxe, a seriously fab yellow gold foil and Shine, a pure silver foil. I love rose gold and I lemming'd this polish pretty hard for quite a while. I finally picked it up in a sale at my Local Sally's a while back, and I am so glad that I did. If you like metallics and foils, this polish is probably going to be right up your alley.
Orly Rage is a smooth, clean, rose gold foil with a touch of sparkle and warmth. The rose tone makes this very flattering to many skin tones; I can see this looking fabulous on the palest fair to the deepest ebony hands. I want to try it as a stamping polish, too. I have a feeling it would stamp beautifully, giving a vintage effect to stamped designs.
I applied two coats of Orly Rage and top coat for this swatch. This polish was almost a one coater, for me but my demon ridges prevented it. If you have smooth nails and a great technique, you might just have a one coat wonder on your hands. And who doesn't like that? Just look how rich and gorgeous this stuff is. It is slightly brushstroke-y but not enough to bug me.
This photograph was shot in sun and doesn't do this stunner justice. Anyone want to be my getaway driver so I can rob a bank and go get the camera I really want and need? I am panting after the new Canon EOS Rebel T4i. Guh! I am in the process of saving for it. Slow going, right now but I shall not give up!
What do you think of Orly Rage? Do you own it? Love it? Have you stamped with it? I'd love to hear what you think of it. If you are interested in acquiring this gorgeous polish, it is part of Orly's core line and available where Orly is sold.
Thank you so much for popping in and spending a little time with me. Have a terrific day and may your polish never bubble.
gorgeousness. that is outstanding. and that is going to be my next quest. i love the tone of it. i think you're right about flattering different skin tones. can't wait to try it! :D
ReplyDeletei'm absolutely in love with this polish. it's one of my favorites out of my whole collection!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I have this polish and really like it.
ReplyDeleteI love Rage!
ReplyDeleteSo do I. :D
ReplyDeleteThank you. :) This is one to own, for sure.
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteDefinitely get it, when you can. It's a beauty. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely polish
ReplyDeleteThank you. :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh it's in my stash of untrieds, I have to go pull this one out!
ReplyDeleteRage is one of my favorite polishes. Deborah Lippmanns glamorous life is another rose gold that is high on my wishlist.
ReplyDeletehave you ever tried the opi flex 220/280 file for your ridges? It's a gentle buffer and you get a quick result.
xo
crystaliciousss
This is stunning on you!!! I don't own this one because I don't think it would look as good on me. Also, i'm not too much of a foil fan. Great that the formula was good though.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the Deborah Lippmann version and it is beautiful but at the asking price, Rage will do the job for me. *sigh* I like Lippmann polishes but at that price, I tend to try to find more affordable options. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for suggesting the OPI buffer for my ridges. I avoid buffing my nail plate because my nails are fragile and thin and buffing just makes them worse, forcing me to live with breakage and short nails for months and months while I grow out the weakened nail plate. :)
Thank you so much. :) Yes, the formula is fab.
ReplyDeleteI get not being a fan of certain finishes. I have admired crackle and magnetics on others but they just don't interest me, personally and I don't wear them. :D
OK when I think of rage, I think of a hot red with shimmer, not a happy pink. Someone really needs to teach these people how to name polish!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the crackle!! I've seen some awesome manis with it, but it's definitely not for me. Magnetics I like, but in small doses. LOL!
ReplyDeleteOoo! Red hot with shimmer called rage sounds good. I agree, polish namers often get it wrong. I think that they should tap real polish addicts too name their creations. We could get it right. :D
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the new OPI effect to hit the U.S. I think that I could get into that one. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing Orly Rage with a top coat of Revlon's Sparkling! (bling-bling)
ReplyDeleteOoo! That sounds so pretty!
