China Glaze Budding Romance: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

China Glaze Budding Romance from the Spring Avant Garden Collection is a warm, slightly murky green jelly. It has a lovely translucency and the colour evokes tender new growth, before the flowers burst open.

This swatch is two coats and Seche Vite.

The formula on this polish is interesting. The first goat is oddly goopy and streaky, at the same time but the second coat goes on nicely and leaves the finish lovely and smooth and opaque. This polish isn't all that difficult to handle, once you get to know it. I didn't have any trouble with running, flooding my cuticles or pooling on my nail edges. This dries nice and shiny and in pretty good time.

Overall, I kinda like this polish. The colour is not your typical pastel pretty, girly Spring green. This one is a bit edgier and darker. If you are in to murky greens, you might really like this one.

What do you think of China Glaze Budding Romance? Have you picked it up, yet? Please share what you think of it.

Thank you for popping in and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

  1. I recently got this, I love the color but having some problems with the formula and application. When I put my china glaze top coat on it, it start to dry up matted?!?!? Anyone else has problems with this?

  2. This polish was a bit streaky for me on the first coat, the second made it all smooth and lovely.

I can't help you with the top coat issue. I don't use China Glaze top coat, I use Seche Vite and it worked perfectly with this polish. Did you apply the top coat too soon? Seche Vite and China Glaze Fast Forward can be applied ASAP but some top coats work better if you let your polish dry a little, first. You may have to play with them a little? Perhaps wrapping your tips with both polish and top coat would help?

Maybe someone else can pop in and give some insight? :D

  3. Yes I have this too. Solution is to let it dry a but longer before applying top coat. I love this color but I wish it was a cream instead of a Jelly. :( the sides also tend to look this sickly kind of yellow that doesn't do the warm olive color justice.
