China Glaze Pink-Ie Promise: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

So... You ever meet a polish that you would love to take out back and bitch slap because it drove. you. that. crazy?

China Glaze Pink-Ie Promise is one of those polishes, for me. This polish is evil. Evil, I say! Don't let it fool you. That sugar sweet almost Pepto Bismol pink creme is a nightmare. I had to swatch this polish three times. Three. Times. And the third attempt still looks like forty miles of bad road. This polish is thick, it streaks, it drags if you dare even try to over stroke it, it runs, it flooded my cuticles then shattered and got choppy on the edges when I did cleanup. Dry time? I don't know. I didn't leave it on long enough to give it a chance to dry. I just wanted it off, as soon as I shot these photographs.

This swatch is two coats and Seche Vite. Thank heaven for Seche Vite. It melted and smoothed this polish out so that it doesn't look too heinous in these photographs.

Bleargh! I am so disappointed in this polish. Maybe a dose of thinner will help it behave better? I don't know and honestly, I am not inclined at this point to even try. I'm sorry but I can't recommend this polish. If I knew then what I know now, I would have left this one behind in the store.

Do you own this polish? If so, did it behave better for you than it did for me?

Thank you for dropping by and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

  2. OOh too bad - I am out of town on medical so soon as I could I got to the Sally's that is really close to where I stay - had not hit one since this collection came out - not much left esp with the buy 2 get 1 ChG free promo going on - so this is one I picked up thinking it was an iffy choice and sure I had something close to it already. Have not tried it - reading your review it might be one that goes right to women's shelter donation.

  3. just put it on and I agree..so disappointing! I came to look for reviews just to make sure it wasn't just me!! it dries with horrible air bubble type bumps as well...debating whether to take it off or just put a top coat on and leave it

  4. Yikes! You got caught up in it, too. I was really disappointed in the formula especially since the colour is so pretty. I am going to try to thin it a bit and see if that helps but I suspect it is just a dud. Such a shame. :(

  5. You might want to try it... Sometimes a polish that doesn't work for someone else might work for you. But I really don't hold out much hope for it, I feel that it is a dud.

  6. So do I. Especially when it is my beloved China Glaze. I just expect so much from this brand and usually it doesn't let me down.
