Everybody Look To Your Right!

Hello gentle readers.

Check it out. -----> See my cute, tricked out social media buttons? Now, it is easier than ever to follow  all the goings on all over the interwebs. Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and so on. It took me a while to learn how to do this. Yes, I am seriously that computer challenged! LOL I just had to get directions to a tutorial, read the directions over and over, look at buttons, over and over, think about it. Think about it some more. Read, again. Look at more buttons... Think about it some more. Read some more. Then finally take the plunge.

Once I actually started doing it, it started coming together. I got stuck on the code bit, (yeah, I know... Duh!) then all of a sudden, the light bulb went off over my head and "by George, I think she's got it!" And, indeed, I had it. And it was so easy! And kinda fun, actually.

And, I am very proud of myself. The cute buttons I downloaded didn't have one for Google+, but there was a blank, so I made my own G+ button. Yes, I am super big headed about that, let me tell ya.

I still have a couple to add... I need to add an e-mail button. I have an e-mail issue to solve with my e-mail server and this computer, I never did fully figure it out but I will... I hope. (I don't think I can link a button to a Yahoo e-mail address? If I can, will someone zap me with a clue?) And as soon as I have a phone capable of handling it, I am going to fire up an Instagram account and will add a button for that, too.

If you like these cute buttons I found them on this blog. The buttons come in a bunch of pretty colours and they all download to your 'puter at once. They are super easy to download. If these buttons aren't your cup of tea, there are so many designs available online, many of them for free. There is a great tutorial right here that will teach you how to actually install the little guys, codes and all.

If you have always wanted to have social media buttons but were intimidated, don't be. It is easy. Really, it is. It just takes a little time and patience to learn the steps and get into a rhythm and once you do, before you know it, you have your social media buttons up and running. If you want to install your own and need a little encouragement, a little coaching, drop me a comment and I will be happy to help in any way I possibly can.

I have some lovely and very helpful ladies to whom I owe my humble thanks. You all know who you are! *muah!*

  1. Thanks for this!!! I am extremely computer challenged as well (how I even got my blog up and running is a mystery to me), it's very reassuring to know that us computer noobs can still do this stuff. Hopefully I will be amping up my blog sometime soon!! :)

  3. Thanks. :) The beauty of it is, it's all point and click. If you can copy and paste and download, you've got everything you need. You just have to go step by step. Just look around, read, think about it... It'll come together for you. :D

  4. Thank you for reading. :D I was surprised that I got mine up too. I quickly learned that I learned that a lot of things are really easy to do. Blogger gadgets are easy, the templates are a breeze, so customizing and getting a look you love is fun. You can do it while watching the changes happen in real time in the customizer so you know exactly what your blog looks like when you are done. I love that. I am in the middle of tweaking mine. I need to make a new header, I think I am going to change my buttons, fonts and so on. :D
