I Changed My Mind... I Freaking Love Them!

Hello gentle readers.

About what, are you asking yourself, did I change my mind and what is it I now love?

OPI Liquid Sand polish, baby. I did some reviews of the Mariah Carey Liquid Sand polishes for Spring a while back and I was, in a word, underwhelmed. So much so that I was ready to consign them to the crackle/magnetic scrap heap.

It turns out that I didn't give these polishes a fair chance to show what they can do. When I was swatching them for review, I treated them like regular polish, not like the special snowflakes that they are and I didn't let them dry thoroughly. They only got to a lumpy, kindasorta rubbery not sandy, at all, weird texture that I did not like all that much. Then, one day I was trying to decide what to paint on my nails (you would think that would be easy, given how many polishes I own, right? Turns out, it isn't!) and I thought that I might as well give the Liquid Sand polishes one last chance before I lobbed them.

Boy, am I ever glad I did! I grabbed OPI The Impossible (pink) and Can't Let Go (purple) and applied them to random nails. I applied two coats of each over base coat, no top coat and allowed them to dry thoroughly. They were so different from my swatches. Rather than disappointing, they were fantastic. Dry, sugary, sparkly, sandy. Fantastic. I freaking love OPI Liquid Sand polish. Seriously. And I am definitely going to have to treat myself to a couple more. I have my greedy eyeballs on one or two in the Bond Girls Collection.

These polishes have a great formula. They are so easy to apply and control. They don't run or pool or drag or streak. There is no bubbling or other nonsense. Dry time is decent but you need to have a little patience and let this formula dry completely to allow it to achieve that delicious sparkly, sugar sand texture. Once it does, it holds up very well to wear. I got a solid four full days of wear from this manicure.

Removal of Liquid Sand polish is a breeze. I was expecting it to be a nightmare but it isn't. This stuff comes off just as easily as any shimmer polish.

Have you tried OPI Liquid Sand polishes, yet? What do you think of them? Like? Love? Think you may need to get some more? Please do tell,

Thank you so much for popping in and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.
