Hello gentle readers.
On Tuesday, July 16 Talia Joy Castellano lost her seven year fight against neuroblastoma and leukemia. She was only thirteen years old. Cancer sucks. It took my dad. It recently took my aunt. My mother is fighting it tooth and nail as I write this. But when cancer takes a child it is the unkindest blow of all. Children should be of limits to that horrible disease. Sadly, they are not.
Talia made a big impression on the world in the short time she was here. Her natural sweetness, charm and sparkle endeared her to her YouTube audience and her gifted touch with a makeup brush earned her respect from her peers in the beauty community. My heart aches for her family and friends now, in their time of sorrow and I hope that their memories of her bring them comfort and that thinking of her brings a smile to their faces and a glow of warmth back to their hearts.
In honor of Talia and evoking her final Instagram photo, a mint green manicure sported by Talia, her mother and a close friend, beauty bloggers are coming together in a community wide blog project known as Mint Manis for Talia organized and coordinated by Nicole of Nail Polish Wars. Please visit her blog and click the other blogs linked up in the InLinkz to learn more about Talia, her short but incredible life and the lovely bloggers and their beautiful manicures in honor of a very special young lady.
My Mint Mani for Talia is simple. I chose Sation Holiday Go Lightly, a mint crelly with a beautiful silver shimmer for a hint of ethereal sparkle. On just one nail I stamped butterflies in bright pink to symbolize a young girl who has been set free from years of pain and illness.
Rest in peace, little one.
Please check out the rest of the manis by clicking on the linkz. If you would like to participate, you can grab the code here.
Thank you for popping in and reading and have a great day.
