Color Club East Austin: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

Color Club East Austin is part of the new for Autumn Girl About Town Collection. This warm, rich bright coral creme is nearly neon and very, very up my my alley. I love corals like this, the perfect balance of pink and orange, bright, a hint of neon, not harsh, there is a wash of softness to this polish. I know that sounds odd, when I describe it as bright and even a bit neon but it is there.

This swatch is three coats and topped with Seche Vite.

The formula on this is not super, tho not a total pain in the butt. After my tough go of it with the beautiful but Prima Donna on a Power Trip China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy I was kind of expecting East Austin to be a bit snotty, as well. It wasn't. Not really. The first coat was a bit streaky and uneven, Otherwise I didn't have too much trouble with it, there was no dragging, pulling or bubbling. The polish flows nicely off the brush, sits where it is placed and doesn't try to run or pool or flood my cuticles. The second coat was nearly opaque, still a bit streaky and my ridges were being a bit ass-ish so on went a quick third coat. Opaque, pretty smooth. Still a teensy bit streaky but a nice coat of Seche Vite did it's magic melty thing and morphed the finish of this into shining perfection and happiness. Dry time is pretty good, Make sure to have plenty of acetone on your cleanup brush, this stuff likes to stick to your brush and pull, creating creative angles on your edges if you don't.

So, I don't know what it is with me and streaky corals. I love coral. It doesn't seem to be terribly fond of me. I will say, tho of the corals I have reviewed, this year, this one is the best of the bunch and if you are on the lookout for a beautiful new coral polish, this one is worth grabbing and adding to your lineup.

  1. Love this Erika! Flip Flop Fantasy is my neon coral love, but I too found it to be a pain in the ass. You didn't need a white under this?

  2. Nope. No under coat is needed. The formula is not flawless but it is easier than Flip Flop Fantasy. I like this one. :)

  3. I like this color alot, Erika, and being as I've no problem wearing white past Labor Day, I'm good with wearing this color whenever the mood strikes.

Also like what you've done with dressing up the blog! :)

  4. I am the same way. I wear whatever colour I want, when I want. I don't need no stinking colour rules! :D

Thank you for your kind words about my blog. I think it needs a little colour, yet. In the header, perhaps but that isn't urgent, I can take my time coming up with something. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it, for now. :)

  5. (Psssssssssssst...Head2Toe has Color Clubs for $3.10 each, about $4 with shipping. Only Halo Hues are excluded.)

  6. Would you say that this one is a dupe of flip flop fantasy or both hold their own?

I love to know what you're thinking. I dig honest discourse and lively discussion, even a good debate. I do not dig hate speech or personal attacks either against myself or my gentle readers.
