Essie For the Twill of It is an oil slick duochrome shimmer. This deep grey base is packed with shimmer that shifts green, pink, to purple and throws tiny silver sparkles. This polish is almost a dupe for OPI Peace and Love and OPI, there are slight variations in overall tone and the formula is a little bit different. But, if you have one, unless you are a rabid collector, you don't need the other. Honestly, I'm not sure why I bought both!
This swatch is two coats and Seche Vite. My shots only caught the pink shift. Duochromes continue to elude my camera lens. Sneaky little buggers.
Essie For the Twill of It has a pretty nice formula, the viscosity is neither too thick nor too thin, it flows nicely off of the brush and spreads nicely up the nail without streaking, pooling, flooding my cuticles. I did experience a small amount of dragging and bubbling in those spots on the sides of my nails where the polish went thin and my brush over worked the polish. It wasn't major but it was an annoyance that I did not appreciate. Ah, Essie, Essie. You have to do this to me with the formula.
Do you own Essie For the Twill of It? What do you think of it? I like it fine but I prefer the formula on the OPI version and would suggest that one, if you can get it.
Thank you so much for popping in and reading. Have a great Monday and a great week!
