OPI Pinking of You: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

OPI Pinking of You is a sugary bubblegum pink crelly. Soft and sweet and very girly, this is an easy colour for someone of just about any skin tone to wear. This is not a terribly unique colour, it is pretty enough but to be perfectly honest, I bought the Pink of Hearts duo for the glitter that comes with it. I could have just bought the glitter polish on it's own but I got two polishes for just a few dollars more than for one and well... Yeah. I can't resist getting more for just a little more.

This swatch is four coats. Yes, I said four coats and Seche Vite.

The formula on this polish is nice, but this polish goes on very streaky. I had to apply four coats to get a smooth, fully opaque, streak free finish. Needless to say, I was not terribly pleased. Otherwise, this polish didn't give me any trouble, it didn't run, pool, flood my cuticles or bubble. I didn't wear it long enough to see how long it would take it to dry. My guess is, with four coats, it would have taken a while.

Why is it that the prettiest, daintiest polishes always slap me around like an unwanted step child?

Did you pick up the OPI Pink of Hearts duo? Perhaps just Pinking of You? You should be able to find this set at Ulta, JC Penney salons and salons that carry OPI in your area and at various authorized beauty supplies.

Thank you so much for popping in and reading and have a loverly day.

  1. It's a pretty color. I hate when I have to apply multiple coats of polish to get the color/look I want

  2. I hate applying so many coats. Especially when you want them to be thinner so they "dry faster and evenly" but with 4 there's really no avoiding it!

  3. Ugh. I hear you. So many coats. I don't mind three, too much but four is bordering on insulting, especially since I tend to apply thicker coats. :P Maybe I'll try making jelly sammiches with it. :)

  5. Aw, shucks - I hear you about the pain of having to apply all those extra coats, especially for the really pretty colors!

  6. I was *thisclose* to grabbing the duo. I have a similar pink that is not such a pain. I sort of still want the glitter though!

  9. If you are tan, a warmer tone might be more to your taste. It is pretty tho, isn't it? :)

  11. Thank you so much! It's amazing what a difference a new camera makes. I'm learning how to shoot in different modes, and how to do a little more editing, too. I think it's starting to pay off. :D
