China Glaze Razzle Me Dazzle Me: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

How much do I love rose gold? A lot. A lot, a lot. That is why I am so gonzo on China Glaze Razzle Me Dazzle Me. This is rose gold tiny square and small and larger hex pieces with small, medium, large matte black hex and bar glitters.

This is swatched over my glitter undies and topped with Seche Vite and Gelous.

Rose gold and black. Doesn't get much better than that.

What do you think? Like rose gold? Like glitter? Have you picked this one up or are you thinking about it?

Thank you for popping in and reading and commenting. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

China Glaze Bling it On: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

Today I have China Glaze Bling it On from the Bitz 'N Pieces collection. Bling it on is a mix of tiny square and small purple glitter and small, medium and large matte black hex and the matte black bar glitter.

This swatch was applied over my glitter undies and topped with Gelous and Seche Vite.

I like the purple and black mix. It is fun and kinds swanky, at the same time. I like it.

Thank you for popping in and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

China Glaze Glitz 'N Pieces: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

Six new glitter polishes make up the China Glaze Bitz 'N Pieces collection. I picked this collection up at my local Sally's when I had some coupons. I like getting a deal on a pile of polishes. It makes me grin.

I am going to start with my review of the formula on this collection, then we can just have fun looking at and talking about the sparkle and shine and admire the pretty. The formula is, for chunky multi glitter mix toppers, pretty danged nice. A few of mine were a little thicker, a few a little thinner but overall, they were easy to work with and apply, a combo pat/stroke motion is best for smooth, even distribution of the goodies up the nail. These polishes dry in good time, dry satin matte and pretty smooth for what they are. I like to use a combo of Gelous and Seche Vite.

First in line is the namesake of this collection, this is Glitz 'N Pieces. A mix of tiny square and small hex silver glitters and small, medium and large matte black hex pieces with short, fine matte black bar glitter in a clear base. This swatch is one coat over my favorite glitter undies and topped with two coats of Gelous.

Fun, huh?

Do you own this glitter? Thinking abut picking it up? If you want it, it's out and about and just waiting for you to pick it up and carry it home with you.

Thank you for popping in and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

Random Stuff Sunday

Hello gentle readers.

Oh! What to do!

(Found on Facebook)

Have a great Sunday, everyone.

Zoya Happi

Hello gentle readers.

Today I have for you the lovely Zoya Happi. I recently participated in Zoya's 3 For Free promo. Three polishes for free, just pay ten clams shipping? Yes please. However, they were offering free shipping if you purchased $25.00 in additional polish. So... I grabbed four more, paid thirty-two to save ten. 'Cause that's how I roll. But really, I got seven polishes for the price of four. Score.

Anyway, one of the polishes I picked up in that order was Happi. I have been wanting this polish for a while, now and I am so tickled to have it. This bright, Barbie pink is packed with a beautiful gold shimmer that in the light turns it to a beautiful coral. This polish is serious pretty.

I applied two coats and topped it with Seche Vite. These were shot under my OttLight.

The formula on Zoya Happi is terrific. This polish has a great viscosity, neither too thin or too thick, it smooths on to the nail with no streaking, dragging, bubbles or other nonsense. Dry time is good and wear time is very nice, as well. I wore this for four days and it held up just fine.

What do you think of Zoya Happi? Do you own this pretty polish? Did you get in on he promo and treat yourself to some new Zoya pretties?

Thank you so much for popping in and reading, today. Have a great weekend and may your polish never bubble.

Comparison: China Glaze Water You Waiting For? and China Glaze Skyscraper

Hello gentle readers.

I recently did a swatch and review post of China Glaze Water You Waiting For? and a gentle reader, The Lacquered Lady asked me if it was like China Glaze Skyscraper. I was curious about it, myself so I grabbed a nail wheel, my bottles of Water You Waiting For?, Skyscraper and just for fun, I tossed in Dorothy Who? as well.

From the left as you are facing the photo, China Glaze Water You Waiting For?, Skyscraper and Dorothy Who? And a frakking fiber that got embedded in my Dorothy Who? swatch. Grrr! I hate fibers!

As you can see, these three polishes are not the same. Water You Waiting For? is blue glitter with green and purple glitter bits. Skyscraper is purple with silver glass fleck and micro glitter and Dorothy Who? is a royal blue jelly with silver tiny square glitter, like Ruby Pumps. But blue.

I hope that this comparison was helpful. Don't hesitate to shoot me a comment if you have any questions or just want to natter about any of these polishes or if you have a comparison request of your own. If I have the polishes in question, I am perfectly happy to do the deed.

Thank you for popping in and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

OPI Liquid Sand in Stay the Night: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

It is time to share the final OPI Liquid Sand polish I have from the Miriah Carey Collection. This is Stay the Night. Black jelly base packed with tiny pink square glitter and that sand to create that unique Liquid Sand texture.

This polish is a little different from the others. It is a little more shiny, vinyl like and has a bit more texture. Like the other Liquid sand polishes, it has a great formula and is easy and pleasant to apply. I think of the four, this one is my favorite. It is certainly the most unusual of the bunch. Edgy yet girlie and very fun.

This swatch is three coats.

And here is Stay the night with Orly matte Top on my pinkie and middle nails and Seche Vite on my ring and index. I really like this one with the top coats, too.

So, there we go. Four fun Liquid Sand polishes. Which is your favorite? Did you buy any or all of these? If you think that you'd like any, they are out and about, right now.

Thank you so much for reading my OPI Liquid Sand miniseries. I hope that you enjoyed these posts and found them informative. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

OPI Liquid Sand in The Impossible: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

Here is the OPI Liquid Sand polish in The Impossible. This is a beautiful glowing watermelon pink with just a hint of orange jelly with the sand, tiny square and small hex holo glitter bits and pieces. This is Summer. Bright, warm, fun. I think that this one is supposed to have stars in it? Is it this one? Whatever the case, none of my minis had the stars. *insert pouty face, here*

This swatch is, as with all of the Liquid Sand polishes I swatched, three coats.

This is a little VNL-y in photographs. It is opaque, in person.

And here is The Impossible with Orly Matte Top on my pinkie and middle and Seche Vite on my ring and index nails.

If you would like to read my full review of the OPI Liquid Sand Polishes please click here to travel to that post

What do you think of pink, sand and glitter? Does this make you think of Summer sun, watermelon and  playing in the sprinklers?

Wow. When was the last time I actually played in the sprinklers? I need to make a point of doing so, sometime this Summer, if possible.

Thank you so much for coming by and reading. Have a terrific day and may your polish never bubble.

OPI Liquid Sand in Can't Let Go: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

Today I am sharing my swatch and photographs of OPI Liquid Sand polish in Can't Let go. This is Liquid Sand polish is purple with that same sand, tiny square and small hex glitter pieces. If you would like a more in depth description and review, Please click here to travel to my first post on these polishes.

This swatch is three coats and no top coat.

I also played with this by applying Orly Matte Top to my pinkie and middle nails and Seche Vite to my ring and index nails. The effect is just like with Get Your Number.

Pretty, huh?

What do you think of OPI Can't Let Go? Do you prefer the purple? Love the blue? Do tell.

Thank you so much for popping in and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.

OPI Liquid Sand Polish in Get Your Number: Swatch and Review

Hello gentle readers.

OPI is jumping into the latest polish finish trend to hit the polish world. Liquid Sand is an interesting animal, as far as polish goes. A rather sheer jelly base is packed with tiny square and small hex glitter pieces and this interesting, for lack of a better word, sand. I don't know what the "sand" is, actually. I do know that it is extremely fine grained and with the glitter, adds an interesting texture to the finish. (How many times can one person use the word "interesting" in a paragraph?)

This swatch is three coats with no top coat.

I was expecting a dry, sparkly, sandy finish, rather like the surface of a sparkly concrete city sidewalk. What I got is a textured, somewhat sparkly, kind of... Rubbery? Matte Vinyl-like? finish. The glitter gives a deep, softened glint of light, flash and sparkle and the surface is textured, bumpy but not rough and dries to a softly satin finish.

(How many times can one person use the word "sparkly" in one paragraph?)

This polish is sheer, A full three coats are required to give an opaque look. I was quite surprised at that. I was expecting this to go opaque in one to two coats, three surprised me and not in a good way. Yeah, yeah, I know... Waaahhh... I had to apply three coats. What can I say? I'm a brat like that.

I like that holo flash from deep within, tho. I get why it is so jelly, that beautiful flash needs jelly in order to flash and wink at you. I can live with the three coat thing,

I decided to add top coat to this to see what happened. I must say, I am kind of liking the effect. I applied Orly Matte Top to my pinkie and middle finger nails to further mattify and then I slopped on some Seche Vite to shine up my ring and index nails. The top coats smoothed and filled in the texture and enhanced different aspects of this unusual finish. If I were going to wear this shiny, I would need a minimum of two coats of Seche Vite, this stiff is thirsty! I love how the shiny top coat brings out the rich, squishy blue and the glorious sparkle from the buried holo glitter.

The formula on this polish is really terrific. The jelly base makes for smooth, easy application  despite all of the texture elements. Those elements give the polish body and viscosity but don't make it thick or difficult to handle. This polish is very biddable and well behaved, there is no streaking, dragging, pulling bald spots or bubbly nonsense. Dry time is... Okay. It isn't as fast as I would have expected but it won't keep you sitting around, twiddling your thumbs all day, either. You can get on with your life in good time, just be beware of bumps and smashes until it cures.

I don't know what I think of OPI Liquid Sand, yet. Regular readers will know that I am not the biggest fan of "alternative" polish finishes. Crackle? No thank you. Magnetic? Meh. Caviar nails? Not a chance. Flocked or velvet nails? Oh, hell no! Matte is okay, now and again and you know that I love glitter. I am reserving judgement on this finish until I wear it a few times and really get to know it. I am happy that I purchased minis of these polishes. If it turns out that I really love one or two colours in this finish, I can always snag the full size, later. Something tells me that we are going to see even more colours in this finish, so there is no rush, for me.

What do you think of OPI Liquid Sand? Have you picked up some of these polishes? Tried them? Do you love them? Loathe them? I'd really love to hear with you think.

Thank you for wading through this wordy morass. If you made it all the way through, you deserve cookies. Have yourself a fantastic day and may your polish never bubble.

  • Press Release

Hello gentle readers. Please enjoy this press release from Miss Professional (Sation) For their upcoming Spring collection.

Miss Antoinette Looks for Love in a Bottle

Miss Professional Nail (Miss) has announced the launch of its Spring 2013 Campaign, Miss Antoinette. The collection is a shining salute to eloquent French beauty and Marie Antoinette’s glorious run as Queen of France. After a recent visit to Versailles, Miss’ Creative Director Staci Dao was inspired to develop a theme that spun a modern twist on lacquer and love. She created a color collection that reflects an exquisite Parisian color palette that would have been icing on the cake for the legendary empress.

The collection offers a royally fun twist on Marie Antoinette’s flair for beauty and beaus. Her loyal subjects were forever fixated on her extravagant wardrobe, indulgent rituals and notorious love life. Oh, how times have changed. Women still get dolled up for potential matches, yet we’ve traded private love letters for public “likes,” and traditional courtship has been eclipsed by cell phones, e-mails and turbo-texting (a triple trauma to the nails!). Dao says, “Nothing beats old-fashioned face-to-face time; beauty and sparks of attraction are still what make us click with someone.”

Miss Antoinette serves up an amorous array of polished petits fours:

Love is in the Heir: Your hands will be on cloud nine with this glistening powder blue

Of Corset I’ll Call You: This romantic lavender-rose shade is off-the-hooks

Love at First Byte: A peachy, flesh-tone nude that leaves a lasting mega-memory

Dating the Duke: A dreamy, creamy cyan to channel your inner duchess

Delete Your Junk Male: Select this e-lectric cerise red to refine your style and suitors

Guillotine Grape: A warm, wicked aubergine that will turn heads – permanently

Let your joie de vivre shine through with a grand, gorgeous mani! The line is available to like, love and lacqueryou up in salons and beauty supply stores now.

All Miss products are free of DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde.

Miss is an MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) certified company.

    Random Stuff Sunday

Hello gentle readers and happy Sunday.

Today I am sharing the best flow chart ever. I found this on (where else? LOL) Facebook and thought that you might relate.

Starting Monday, I will begin showing my swatches of the OPI Liquid Sand polishes.

    Have a great Sunday.

Color Club Halo Hues: Eternal Beauty and Beyond

    Hello gentle readers.

Time to wrap up my Halo Hues miniseries with the final two polishes in this collection. Eternal beauty and Beyond; the deep, dark beauties of this collection. Buckle up, dearies. There are a lot of photographs coming your way.

My full review of these polishes is in this post if you missed my raving about how fab the quality of these polishes is.

This is Eternal Beauty, a rich, glowing purple holo. This is so gorgeous, kids. If you love purple and holo, you need to buy this polish. This swatch is two coats, no top coat and shot in the sun.

And last, but certainly not least, we have Beyond. This dark charcoal grey is nearly black and dances with holo goodness. The holo effect isn't quite as strong in this polish as it is in the rest of the collection but it is no less beautiful. This is, as with all of the rest, two coats and no top coat.

Just for fun, I topped this swatch with Seche Vite. As you can see, the holo is settled down a bit but certainly not destroyed by the top coat.

And finally, just because I was on a roll, I decided to go ahead and pile on some Orly Matte Top top coat. This stuff looks kind of fantastic, matte. The holo, rather than being an in your face sparkle and feature becomes a soft rainbow glow. It reminds me of South Sea pearls, that deep grey nacre with the rich multi toned orient.

So concludes my swatches and review of the new Color Club Halo Hues collection. I hope that you enjoyed my many, many photographs and you have seen some pretties that, if you haven't already, you plan to make a member of your polish family. If I am not mistaken, the Halo Hues collection has officially released and should be available where you buy Color Club polish. Or should be, very soon.

Thank you so much for reading and your comments. Have a terrific day and may your polish never bubble.

Color Club Halo Hues: Miss Bliss and Over the Moon

    Hello gentle readers.

Today I am showing you two more beautiful Color Club Halo Hues polishes. If you would like to read my review of the formula on these polishes, clickity-click here for that and to see the first two.

First, let's take a gander at Miss Bliss. This darling raspberry pink holo treat is sweet, girlie and flaming gorgeous. This swatch is two coats, no top coat. These photos were taken in full sun.

When my bottle of Miss Bliss arrived on my doorstep it had suffered a bit of a spill in transit. Not a great deal of polish was lost, as you will see in the next two photographs. About the amount for swatches on four nails or so was lost, so not a big deal and the spill was easy to clean up with a little acetone and a couple of cotton rounds. But look at how pretty this stuff is, even spilled on the outside of the bottle. Rainbow holo spill.

Here we have Over the Moon. Royal blue. Strong holo. Oh, yeah. Mama like. Mama love. My holo eating ho-bag of a camera didn't do a stellar job with this swatch. But I think that you get the idea. Again, two coats, no top coat. Shot in the sun.

Here is Over the Moon (third from the left, as you are facing the photo) on a nail wheel. For some reason, it came out a lot better on the nail wheel than it did on my nails. Same polish, same camera. Must be the length and curve of the fakealoo nails?

So what do you think about these two? Aren't they beautiful? Are you planning to grab these glorious holos for yourself? Please do tell.

Thank you so much for coming by and reading. Have a great day and may your polish never bubble.
