OPI and Gwen Stefani Hey Baby: Swatch and Review

Oh yes. Hello you gorgeous, rich, hot pink polish, you. What is it about a vibrant, blue based, eye popping pink nail polish that just screams my name? I own... How many of them? And will buy how many more? Because I just can't help myself.

OPI Hey Baby is one of the Creme Gloss finish polishes from the new Gwen Stefani Collection polishes for Winter, 2013/14. This great pink is reminiscent of Gwen's pink hair and the dip dyed hem of her beautiful John Galliano wedding gown.

I applied two coats for this swatch, three on my ring nail, since my ridges were making a pain in the ass of themselves and topped it with Seche Vite. Then I decided to grab some of the black Swarovski Elements crystals from my Over and Over A-Gwen set and dress up my ring nail just for the fun of it. I love pink and black together and I think that these crystals add a touch of edge to this sweet pink polish.

As with most OPI polishes I own, the formula on this polish is gorgeous. Smooth, silky, biddable. This polish flowed off of the Pro Wide brush onto my nail and sat down where I placed it without running, pooling, streaking, dragging or bubbling. Dry time is respectable. This formula dries very shiny and pretty, I could have skipped the top coat but I like the additional kapow! that top coat gives so I always apply it, even when swatching.

Isn't OPI Hey Baby pretty? I know that it is not tat unusual but I think that I am craving bright, happy, fun stuff, right now and this is hitting the right note for me. Have you picked up this polish yet? If you are craving some sweet, hot pink of your own, Hey Baby is available where you buy OPI, now.

  1. As always, your swatches are impeccable :) I love this pink, it's girly but not too juvenile.

  9. What a fab swatch!! I saw this in the bottle and passed, since I have so many pinks. Now that I see it on your nails, I think I need it! I have to ask, what are you using on your cuticles? Mine are so unhappy this winter!!

  12. I can truly relate w/ your dilemma. How many more bright pink lacquers can you have, and how many more bright lipstick can I have. One word: Infinite.

  15. Thank you. I didn't really need another pink of this ilk, either. I have... A million of them. But I had to have this one! It's the Gwen one! My cuticles get pushed back daily, they get lotion a couple of times a day, when I put it on my hands and oil, when I swatch or do my nails and that is about it. :)
