Inspired by their iconic tweeds, Chanel brings us Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Eye Shadow. I have #214 Tisse Mademoiselle, four versatile, beautiful neutral shades perfect for everyday and occasions, alike.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Eyeshadow is packaged in a sleek, black compact with the interlocked C's logo in white, and snugly nestled in a synthetic velvet slip case. When I made my purchase at the Chanel counter, my items were placed in the most darling, tiny black and white Chanel shopping bag. I have that bag tucked away, I can't bring myself to toss it out.
Open the eye shadow quad and inside is a full sized mirror in the lid and four colour coordinated round, domed soft satin pressed powder eye shadows. There are two sponge tipped applicators that promptly went into the drawer on the pile. I don't care what they say on them, I don't like sponge tip applicators for makeup application.
The quad, close up. And, an example of how lighting can change what you are seeing in a photograph. The shot of the full compact was taken under an OttLight. This one, under LED desk lamps.
The shadow quality lives up to the price. Once you "break the shell" they are very soft, creamy smooth and have wonderful pigmentation and payoff on the eye. They apply beautifully and blend without flying away or becoming a muddy mess. These shadows work on their own and play very well with others.
The Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Eye Shadow is a redesign of their former Les 4 Ombres wet/dry shadow. This formula is more pigmented, gives richer payoff and is not meant to be used wet.
On my eyes. I applied these shadows over Lorac Behind the Scenes primer and used Urban Decay Perversion mascara on my lashes. I skipped eye liner, I just didn't feel that it was necessary. The shadows were looking great, on their own so I let them take center stage. These shadows wore all day without creasing or fading. My eye look was as just as vibrant when I removed it late that night as it was when I applied it, in the morning.
I truly like the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi Effect Quadra Effect Eye Shadow in #214 Tisse Mademoiselle. The colours are beautiful and wearable for day and evening, the finish is soft and flattering to any skin type and the quality is first rate. Yes, at $61.00 this shadow quad is spendy. It was a huge splurge for me. I don't sashay to the Chanel counter or order Chanel goodies online every day. Wouldn't that be fun! But when I want to treat myself, this eye shadow quad is a great investment and so lovely to use and have in my makeup case. It's worth it.
Have you tried the newly reformulated Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi Effects Quadra Eye Shadows? What do you think of them? What is your favorite quad? I have my wishful eyes on another quad or two. #204 Tisse Vendome and #232 Tisse Venitien, in particular. Maybe one day. Tell me about your favorites, or wishes.
