*****And... We have a winner! Thank you all so much for your entries and your great comments and road trip ideas. I truly enjoyed all of them! Please stay tuned. I'm planning another giveaway. *****

I recently won this six bottle China Glaze Road Trip Road Trip Ready set during a Twitter party. I had already bought the collection so I thought I'd pass this set along to one of my gentle readers.

This is six brand new, unopened bottles of China Glaze nail polish from the Spring Road Trip Collection. I only opened the package to line up the bottles for this photograph. The winner will receive all six bottles.

The rules are simple:

This giveaway will run from 2/28/15 to 3/15/15. When the widget closes, the contest is closed. I will let it draw the winner shortly thereafter and the winner will be contacted by e-mail. The winner will have 48 hours after the time I send the e-mail to get back to me with their mailing address so that I can send their prize. If I don't hear back in that time, a new winner will be drawn. I reserve the right to give the winner a bit more time to return my e-mail. (I usually do... I'm a bit of a sap.)

You must live in the United States. I'm sorry. That isn't my rule... Shipping regulations are a bitch.

You must be 18 or older or have a parent's or guardian's permission to enter and to give me your contact information and mailing address. Don't put me in the position of being contacted by a pissed off parent because some random stranger from the Internet sent something to their kid.

Enter in the Rafflecopter Widget. Please don't put entries in comments or e-mail them to me. They will be voided and deleted.

Save your drama for your mama. We are all adults here. (I assume...) Let's behave as such. Any attempt to skim, scam, fight or bite will result in instant disqualification. No questions asked.

Failure to follow the tasks as directed in the Rafflecopter widget will result in disqualification. If you enter the wrong e-mail address or what have you, not my problem. You're an adult... See to your business.

Okay, bitchy stuff over.

Enter! Enter! And tell your friends! Everyone likes nail polish.

Michael Todd Soniclear Anti Microbial Skin Cleansing System Review

::press sample/affiliate::

I was sent the Michael Todd Soniclear Anti Microbial Sonic Skin Cleansing System late last year and I have chosen to take some time to really put it through it's paces. I'm now ready to share my thoughts.

Powered by an internal rechargable battery the Soniclear uses Sonic Wave powered cleansing to power away dirt and oil 2x better and makeup 6x better than cleansing with the hands. The micro massage action powers the pores clean, clearing them of oil, dead skin cells and makeup residue.

When you receive your Soniclear, packed in the box are the cleansing unit, a slide in charger, a cord and wall plug, two cleansing heads, one for face and one for the body and an instruction booklet.

You begin your odyssey to better skin by fully charging the Soniclear before it's first use. After you attach the cord to the charger and plug it into an outlet, slip the handle into the charger, with the name, Soniclear along the spine of the handle and the three indicator lights facing you, the brush facing away. You will see the lights blinking, first the bottom, then middle then top. When the top light shines steady, the unit is fully charged and ready to do it's job.

Soniclear is a sealed, waterproof unit that is perfectly safe to use at the sink or to take into the shower or bath. On the front are sealed on/off and high low buttons that, when used in concert give you six settings that allow you to customize your cleansing experience to your skin's needs. Honestly, I just turn the thing on and get to it. But the other options are there, if you would like them.

The Soniclear has an internal timer that runs it for one minute, in twenty second bursts. A pause in the sonic action and a beep tell you when it is time to move to another area of the face or body. When the unit shuts it's self off, you are done. Again, I am a bit of a do it my way kind of user... I run this for two minutes on my face, throat, neck and upper chest. Do what works for you. Just don't over do it! This baby is efficient and it is possible to over work the skin and leave it feeling a bit sensitive and irritated. Ask me how I know. Yeah. Three minutes on my face? Nope. Two is fine.

Any liquid-y facial cleanser works with this unit. I've used it with DermOrganic Creamy cleanser, Philosophy Purity and the light foaming cleanser that was sent to me by Vain Pursuits. They all did just fine. I haven't tried this with bar soap (don't have the stuff in my house) or cleansing balm. I think it would be good with bar soap but not cleansing balm. Let me know if you have tried it and how it does.

The Soniclear comes with two replaceable brushes. A smaller, slightly softer face brush and a larger, somewhat firmer body brush. With bristles infused with silver to add anti microbial properties, these brushes are designed to last six months before needing to be replaced. I have been using the hell out of this device and you can clearly see, in my photograph above that the brushes are still in very good condition.

I like to cleanse my brush after each use by removing it from the unit, wash it with a dollop of liquid hand soap, rinse well and shake out the water and rinse and dry the unit. Then I grab my little spray bottle of alcohol, spritz the brush a few times and let it sit out to dry and let the unit sit, head angled down to finish drying on it's own. Then I pop the brush back on, put the cover on it to keep it dust free and slip the unit back into it's charger.

Changing the brushes is easy - peasy. Simply push, twist and pull off. To install, push, twist and click. Nothing to it.

So... After all of that nattering you're probably wondering what I really think of the Soniclear. Gentle reader, I love it. Love, love, love it. My skin has never felt cleaner, I never have to guess whether or not I have cleansed all of the makeup and day off of my face, I just know that it's happened. My pores are purged of the forever pools of goo, my face always feels soft and smooth. The Soniclear is largely responsible for much of this improvement and I don't ever want to be without this wonderful device.

Michael Todd Soniclear Anti Microbial Skin Cleansing System, $149.00 is available on the Michael Todd Website. It comes in a variety of fun colours and new patterns, too! I'm kind of envious of that purple Boho Babe pattern. Flowers and paisley? Uh... Yes, please! But my Lavender Lust unit is working beautifully, keeping my skin happy and there is no need to replace it. There are also bundle packs available for just a little bit more and when you are ready for new brushes, you can find them here.

Did you know that Michael Todd also offers Skin Care? I have been perusing the specialty section for Anti Aging/Mature skin and I'm intrigued...

Michael Todd skin care contains natural, good for you ingredients and is cruelty free.

Are you ready to kick your skin care regime up to the next level? Are you ready for cleaner, softer, clearer skin? If so, you are ready for the Soniclear

My Favorite Fragrances... At the Moment

Fragrance is one of my favorite beauty products. Fragrance is tied to my earliest memories, my deepest emotions. When I was little, my mother wore Caron's Fleur de Rocaille and on very special occasions she would take a golden drop and gently apply it behind my ears and touch it down the part of my hair and brush it down the length. Then she would smile, kiss me and tell me that there, I was ready. To this day, I don't feel fully dressed and ready to go until I have applied fragrance and put some in my hair.

I suppose that my early experience as well as my natural inclination attracts me to very feminine scents. I love florals. Florals like Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb. This extravagant explosion of Sambac Jasmine, Centifilia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Fressia and Patchouli is sexy, womanly, sophisticated and has just a hint of an edge. It is a gorgeous scent that I only had to smell once and knew that I had to have in my life, forever. This fragrance is spendy, I have the mini with the refill that I buy in the impulse section at Sephora. I'd buy the five ounce bottle and everything Flowerbomb, if I could afford it!

Philosophy's Amazing Grace is my favorite everyday scent. This light, clean, very fresh scent is the perfect. delicate blend of Bergamot, Muget Blossoms with a hint of Musk to grab and spritz on anytime. I often spray on Amazing Grace and then put Flowerbomb on my pulse points. It's a scent combination that just works. And one that never fails to get the husband leaning in close for an extra sniff. Or two.

What are your favorite fragrances? Do you go for florals? Fresh notes? Deep, warm and spicy scents? Woodsy or green? Do tell.

Please take some time to click the links below and see what beautiful scents my fellow bloggers are loving, right now.

Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum First Impression

::sponsored post/affiliate::

I find, as I advance in years that serums become a more crucial part of my skin care arsenal. Serums are an especially effective treatment because active ingredients tend to be more highly concentrated in a formula that is created specifically for fast uptake and absorption. The good stuff gets to the skin and is then sealed in by the moisturizer that follows it.

Serums are no joke, gentle reader. Since I have been using serums consistently, I have noticed a definite difference in my skin. It is clearer, softer, smoother, the tone is more even. No, I don't look "younger" but my skin is in better condition, overall and I believe that it looks good for my age.

I think that is results worth seeking.

Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum is a 20% Vitamin C concentration enriched with Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid. Vitamin C brightens and tones skin, Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that can assist skin in resisting the aging process and is purported to be a healing agent, Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant that pulls moisture out of the air and attracts and holds it to the skin.

Packaged in an amber glass bottle to help protect the active ingredients from UV light and dispensed by means of a glass dropper, Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum is a near clear, low viscosity, unscented liquid that spreads easily across the skin and sinks in almost instantly. There is a slight tacky feeling for a few seconds that swiftly dissipates, leaving the skin feeling clean and smooth. I don't experience any redness, stinging, warmth or other immediate reactions when I apply. I haven't been using this long enough to appreciate any real results. But so far, my first impression of this serum is very positive.

Are you interested? Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum and is very affordably priced at just $19.95 for a full one ounce. Don't let the reasonable price fool you, gentle reader. Quality, effective skin care can come in at a very wallet friendly price. Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum is natural, vegan and cruelty free.

Deionized Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide (Botanical Hyaluronic Acid), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Carbomer, (2s)-2-Amino-5-guanidinopentanoic Acid, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba Oil), Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, d-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Organic Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola Extract), Organic Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail Plant Extract), Organic Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium Extract), Organic Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion Extract).

Have you tried Amara Organics Vitamin C Serum? Do you think that you might like to try this one? It is available on their website and at Amazon. Vitamin C is so good for our skin! Whatever your age, a great serum is a crucial part of a good skin care routine and shouldn't be neglected. If you are young, start early. If you are clicking over a few more miles, it can improve your skin and help you look and feel your best. Take it from this serum junkie, you won't be sorry.

NeoStrata Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy: First Impression

::sponsored post/affiliate::

NeoStrata, purveyors of high quality, efficacious skin care has generously provided me with a few samples of their lovely products and I'm going to share my first impressions of these goodies with you, today.

The reason why we are here is the Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy: .50 oz. $79.00, a white, silky gel creme treatment serum. Some of the claims of the brand are that the SynerG Formula builds and plumps layers of the skin, Peptides stimulate matrix components to produce more collagen, Neo Glucosamine helps reinforce collagen's surrounding structure and caffeine depuffs the eye area.

Some of the active ingredients are: SynerG Formula 6.0, Apple Stem Cell Extract, Peptides, Neo Glucosamine, Caffeine, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E.

I haven't been using this for long, but my first impression is quite favorable. Used with my eye cream, the Intensive Eye Therapy makes the skin around my eyes look smoother, the fine lines softened and diffused. My makeup glides on over this treatment very nicely and it doesn't slide off. So far, I am enjoying this deluxe sample. I'm interested to see if I appreciate any lasting results. Intensive Eye Therapy applies smoothly and a little goes a long way. It doesn't have much of a scent and I do not experience any sensitivity or irritation when I use it.

Included in with the Intensive Eye Therapy was a tiny pump vial of the Firming Collagen Booster, a clear, thin gel serum and a couple of sachet samples. I was unable to try the Matrix Supplement as it contains a chemical sunscreen. I passed that sample along to my mother in law and she was perfectly happy to use it and was impressed.

Back of my hand swatches of the Firming Collagen Booster and the Intensive Eye Therapy.

Aqua (Water), Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polysilicone-11, Acetyl Glucosamine, Glycerin, Cyclohexasiloxane, Nylon-12, Silica, Octyldodecyl Stearate, Tocopheryl (Vitamin E) Acetate, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caffeine, Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Butylene Glycol, Lecithin, Isohexadecane, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Caprylyl Glycol, Polysorbate 40, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polysorbate 60, Citric Acid, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/ Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isostearic Acid, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Xanthan Gum, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Caramel, CI 19140 (Yellow 5).

Clinical results show:
NeoStrata Skin Active Intensive Eye Therapy targets crow's feet and puffiness with a multi-mechanistic approach that smoothes wrinkles from the inside out. Participants noted these benefits after 4 weeks of twice daily application:

97% moisturizes/hydrates

    The Beauty Blogazons Weekly Roundup

What have my fellow Blogazons been up to, in the last week? Let's take a peek, shall we?

I have read all of these posts and let me tell ya, there is some good stuff, here!

    Bargain Beauty Find

As much as I love it, I just can't continue to justify blowing thirty dollars a bottle on eye makeup remover. Seriously. That stuff is lovely but for me, it's a budget buster.

I was recently getting to the bottom of my current bottle and I popped into my local CVS to scout the Milani display. Didn't get anything, as it was picked clean but I did spy with my little eye, a display of bottles of CVS brand eye makeup remover.

Intrigued, I moved in for a closer look.  Hmmm... Oil free. Okay. Not a bad thing, tho oil is not a concern for me, since I'm officially a #driedoutoldhag. Promises to remove even waterproof mascara, don't much care... I never wear the stuff tho I do appreciate an effective remover that prevents my having to rub and scrub at my delicate eye area. Gentle. Ahhh! There it is! Mama has sensitive peepers. One reason why she will spend ridiculous amounts of money on makeup remover. And the kicker? Eleven ounces for less than seven dollars. Neutrogena, my number two fave is four ounces for that price. My number one, the aforelinked Lancome, is thirty for four ounces. I figured, it was worth a try. What was the worse that could happen? I could hate it. Return it and use the money to buy a lipstick. So I bought it and took it home.

Gentle reader, the packaging sucks. It's your typical, cheap, stupid open necked plastic bottle. No pump, no little squeezy thingie in the opening to control the flow and lets be real, here; I am a klutz. I tend to knock over and drop things. And, just the simple act of getting some of the remover out onto a cotton square is messy and that works my last nerve in a way I find hard to deal with. I need to buy a bottle into which I can decant this stuff. Pronto!

Because I gotta tell ya, aside from the crappy ass packaging, this is good eye makeup remover. Now, as I said, I don't wear waterproof mascara, so I can't say whether or not it removes that effectively but it works a treat on regular mascara, eyeliner, shadow... It doesn't sting or burn my very sensitive eyes and it leaves my eye area feeling moisturized but not a greasy mess, afterward. My eyes do feel a little filmy but they feel that way with any shake - em - up bi - phase remover so no ding for that.

The CVS Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover doesn't have that lovely rose scent that I adore or the pretty Lancome packaging I love to display on my dressing table. But it does what it says it will do, it does it well and for a very good price. Bottom line? Unless I get the Lancome as a Gift With Purchase, from now on, I'll buy the CVS brand and save my husband's hard earned money to splurge on pretties that last a lot longer.

Like that eye shadow palette I have been lusting after...

Vain Pursuits Natural Personalized Skin Care: My First Impression

    **press sample/affiliate links/promo link**

Vain Pursuits creates personalized skin care from high quality, natural ingredients, just for you.

You begin by visiting the Vain Pursuits main page and take a quiz that tells them about you, your skin and a little about your lifestyle so that they can get a good idea about what to create just for you. I think that the quiz took me less than five minutes.

Based on the answers to your quiz questions a skin care routine is made up, packaged and sent to you.

I received a set of three mini products, packed in a little rustic paper box with a label with my name on it. Inside, a rustic paper envelope with three cards, each one detailing the main ingredients in each product and why they were included in each product.

The products I received are a Cleanser, Toner and a Facial Moisturizing Cream. Each product has a label with my name on it and the type number and product name. All of the lovely little details certainly makes receiving and using this skin care feel like an experience.

Beginning with the Cleanser: A clear liquid that in my formula contains essential oils of grapefruit and mint. This cleanser foams up a bit and feels cool and refreshing as I am using it. I could find myself really loving this stuff during the Dog Days of an Arizona Summer. It seems to be doing a nice job of removing my day and makeup left behind after I use my makeup remover wipe. My skin feels clean and soft after use. I haven't been using it long enough to ascertain if it is drying or stripping, but so far, it doesn't feel so. I can say that this is a cleanser I will work to keep out of my eyes. I can feel the vapors of the mint and I know that if it were to get into my eyes, they would not be too pleased. I like to use this cleanser with my sonic facial cleansing device.

Next we have the Toner: With cucumber, chamomile and aloe extracts this unscented toner feels refreshing when sprayed on a cotton square and run softly across my skin. Toner is not a normal part of my skin care routine, I just don't feel that it is necessary but if it comes with a skin care routine, I'm happy to put it to use.

The Facial Moisturizer is a thick, rich, very moisturizing cream that was customized for my very dry skin. Packed with aloe, avocado, jojoba and grape seed oils, vegetable glycerine, shea butter and plant squalane and lightly perfumed with lavender and eucalyptus. Included, because I don't sleep all that well. A little bit of this cream goes a long way and spreads nicely across the skin and with a little gentle massaging, sinks in. It initially leaves a bit of a sheen on the surface of my skin but within an hour or so it has fully sunk in and my skin just feels so soft! And it feels that way, the next morning. This cream is not for use under makeup.

Here is a photograph of the Facial Moisturizer and the Cleanser. The cleanser is a little hard to see, but you should be able to see the little bubbles.

I have not been using this skin care trio long enough to see any true results or give it a full throated endorsement but I can say that my first impression, based on my first couple of uses is very favorable. I can say that these are well made products and recommend that you give Vain Pursuits a try.

China Glaze Road Trip Collection for Spring, 2015

    **affiliate links**

Spring is on it's way! And new nail polish collections are hitting the shelves, hard and fast. From China Glaze is the beautiful Road Trip Collection. For a girl with a raging case of gasoline fever, this collection couldn't be better named! Truly, few things make me happier than jumping in the car and just taking off... For a few hours, a day, a few days. Longer. Whatever. Who cares? Let's go!

China Glaze Road Trip is a twelve polish collection comprised of eight creme finish crellies and four delicate gold shifter shimmers. I told myself some time ago that I wasn't going to be buying any more full collections... It's just so expensive but I started seeing swatches of these polishes and well. You know. I couldn't resist.

Would you like to see? I swatched the majority of these over regular base coat, should have used ridge filler. I did for the last few polishes and the difference was like night and day. You'd think, after all of this time swatching polish, I'd learn. Also, there are some inconsistencies in pose and lighting... I'm monkeying around with things, again.

Okay, Let's get to work. I'll begin with the creamy crellies and finish up with the shimmers. All swatches are topped with Seche Vite.

Trip of a Lime Time is a bright, Spring green. Two coats, three on ring and pinkie.

My Way or the Highway is a green teal. This is two coats, three on my ridge-y ring and pinkie nails.

Boho Blues is a soft periwinkle. I adore this colour! This is two coats, three on my ring and pinkie nails. Because ridges.

License & Registration Pls is a rich royal blue. This is two coats.

More to Explore. Why, hello bright, almost neon peach! This is four coats. Yeah. Four. Next time, ridge filler. Silly me. I love how flattering this peach is. Peach is not an easy colour for me to wear. I can rock this one!

Pop the Trunk. Hot, red/orange that will warm you to the core. This is three effortless coats.

Pinking Out the Window is a beautiful carnation pink. This swatch is two coats, a third on... You guessed it.

I Brake for Colour is that glorious red/coral colour that I absolutely adore. Rich, flattering. Yes. This swatch is two coats.

Pack Lightly. Not in this lifetime. Not in my vocabulary. This is a sweet, cotton candy pink shimmer. Three coats in this pic.

Dashboard Dreamer is a lively pale blue shimmer. This one really wreaks havoc with my skin tone, which is rare... Blue is usually a good colour on me. Whatever. I still like it. This is three coats.

Wanderlust is a dainty lilac shimmer. If you like purples and lilacs, you need this one! It's just so pretty! This is three coats.

Sun's Up Top Down. This bright, bright, sunshine yellow is happiness all over my nails. Three easy-peasy coats.

As I said earlier in this post, all of these polishes are crellies. All are a touch on the translucent side and as such, don't handle my ridge-y nails well and require extra coats or plenty of ridge filler. The advantage to the crelly formula is, of course that gorgeous, smooth flow off of the brush, easy application, no streaking, dragging, bubbling or pooling. Dry time, especially with a good, fast dry top coat is very respectable.

What do you think of the China Glaze Road Trip Collection for Spring, 2015? Have you picked up any of these fresh, pretty colours? This collection is in wide release, now if you are craving. Get them, before they speed away.

Reviva Labs Pomegranate/Lactic Acid Exfoliant $19.00, is no joke, gentle reader. If you want serious sloughing of dead. dry Winter skin, this product will deliver.

Composed of a mix of natural clay, allantoin, lactic acid, natural plant extracts, soy, peptides and pomegranate this treatment clears away dead skin cells and leaves the skin brighter, softer and smoother.

The texture is creamy/grainy with bits of plant and flowers. The scent is, to be best described... Clean, fresh sand. It isn't an unpleasant scent but unexpected in a skin care treatment! It is very natural and earthy. I don't mind it, at all. It's not "dirty" it's just... Very natural.

I use this after cleansing. I pick up a generous finger full, apply to my face and spread it evenly all over, avoiding my eyes, of course. I scrub, in a firm circular motion as I apply. If you are sensitive, you can skip that step. My skin likes a good hammering, so I give it what it wants. After a nice scrub, I make sure that the exfoliant is spread evenly in a thin layer and let it dry. Then, I grab a dry, clean face cloth and rub it off my face.

The result is velvety soft, brighter skin that readily drinks in serums and moisturizers, looks better alone and under my makeup. Do I look younger? Uh... Nope. Darling, I'm fifty. That ship has sailed. I'm okay with it. I'm happy to look good for my age. I think that this little jar of natural, earthy delight helps me to achieve that.
