My Favorite Fragrances... At the Moment

::affiliate::

Fragrance is one of my favorite beauty products. Fragrance is tied to my earliest memories, my deepest emotions. When I was little, my mother wore Caron's Fleur de Rocaille and on very special occasions she would take a golden drop and gently apply it behind my ears and touch it down the part of my hair and brush it down the length. Then she would smile, kiss me and tell me that there, I was ready. To this day, I don't feel fully dressed and ready to go until I have applied fragrance and put some in my hair.

I suppose that my early experience as well as my natural inclination attracts me to very feminine scents. I love florals. Florals like Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb. This extravagant explosion of Sambac Jasmine, Centifilia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Fressia and Patchouli is sexy, womanly, sophisticated and has just a hint of an edge. It is a gorgeous scent that I only had to smell once and knew that I had to have in my life, forever. This fragrance is spendy, I have the mini with the refill that I buy in the impulse section at Sephora. I'd buy the five ounce bottle and everything Flowerbomb, if I could afford it!

Philosophy's Amazing Grace is my favorite everyday scent. This light, clean, very fresh scent is the perfect. delicate blend of Bergamot, Muget Blossoms with a hint of Musk to grab and spritz on anytime. I often spray on Amazing Grace and then put Flowerbomb on my pulse points. It's a scent combination that just works. And one that never fails to get the husband leaning in close for an extra sniff. Or two.

What are your favorite fragrances? Do you go for florals? Fresh notes? Deep, warm and spicy scents? Woodsy or green? Do tell.

  6. I never hear any bag things about Amazing Grace! I always say I don't like heavy floral but the scents that are my fave are floral lol I think when I was younger I just assumed everything floral was bad because of the Avon fragrances I used to smell on older ladies =\ Also BBW Peony was AWFUL and people would spray it all over. I die.

  9. Flower bomb grew on me. I actually purchased it for my sister, and got spicebomb for myself. She would wear it, and then I'd ask her what it was. Of course, she'd give me the crazy eyes like ummm Flowerbomb, duh! It smells nice, and so does amazing grace.

  12. Erika, we're scent twins! This is my perfect description of Flowerbomb too "I only had to smell once and knew that I had to have in my life, forever." I felt EXACTLY the same way! I also love Amazing Grace. I wore it so much I grew tired of it, but should probably put it back in rotation again. Have you used the body lotion? Heavenly!

  13. I have both of those fragrances too. After being a QVC junkie, I had to try out Amazing Grace. Those notes are not ones I usually like but I love how this one wears on me.

  15. Flowerbomb is another all time favorite of mine. Scents that are rooted in our memories are so special. The smell of Eucalyptus always reminds me of my granny's house.

  17. Amazing Grace is such a lovely scent. It was love at first sniff for me years ago.

    I have three current favorites: Gucci Guilty Black, Dior Addict Eau Delice, and Maison Martin Margiela REPLICA Beach Walk (which is the one I've been reaching for daily, even if just putting it on to go to bed, haha).

  18. AG is just so perfect. I need a new bottle. :D I thought I was the only one to put on fragrance before bed. I love to do that.

  27. Flowerbomb is kind of like AG's darker, sexier, more grown up cousin. Give it a sniff.

  28. LOLOL! I remember the old school Avon... Some of it was like, yikes! Just cast off the association and enjoy your florals.

  29. It's one of those almost universally wearable scents. I don't know what it is about it, everyone seems to love it. I get the most scent compliments when I am wearing it.
