Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks | Review and Swatches

I have been seeing Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick reviews in blog post after blog post after blog post. I finally had to cave and go buy a couple for myself. See if they live up to all of the hype.

Do they? Please read on.

Encased in sleek, bright gold tone plastic tubes, the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick has a luxe look at an affordable price. At the bottom of each tube is a small plastic insert that corresponds to the colour of the lipstick in the tube. Because the little bottom colour pop is so accurate, there is no reason for customers to be able to open these lipsticks in store and I would love to see Milani put safety seals on their lipsticks. I had to inspect a minimum of three lipsticks in each of the two shades I purchased to find lipsticks that hadn't been swatched by other people.

I bought two shades of the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick. Matte Blissful, a soft, cool toned rose pink and Matte Diva, a bright, fuchsia pink.

Swatches of the lipsticks, Matte Blissful and Matte Diva on the back of my hand.

And on my face.

Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks are pigmented, smooth and creamy. They apply easily without dragging, pulling or skipping. They can feel a tiny bit... Silicone-y or "oily" at first but as they set, that sensation fades away. It is easy to get full, even coverage on the lips. Wear time is pretty good, these lipsticks stain a little, as they fade away leaving the ghost of their full colour behind. Worn with a barrier pencil and corresponding lip liner, I don't have any trouble with migration into the lines around my lips or the lipstick crawling all over my face. Unlike other matte lippies in my arsenal, these lipsticks hold together very well, they do not crack and break apart at the moisture line, leaving that funky part lipstick-ed, part bare lip effect that I don't care for. These lipsticks wear fairly comfortably for matte formula lippies for me.

I like these lipsticks. They are pretty, apply nicely, wear well and the packaging looks luxe for their affordable price. Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipsticks can be found on Milani's website, at CVS stores and other stores in other areas. They retail for $5.99 each.

Have you tried this newer line of lipsticks? What do you think of them? Please do tell.
