Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Collection | What I Bought
I was in my local Target recently and I actually lucked into a display with the pieces that I wanted from the Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Collection. This limited edition makeup collection is available for purchase on the Target website and in their stores, right now and if you like soft, warm, shimmery nude shades, you need to get some of this.
Encased in heavyweight cinnabar, black and gold striped plastic packaging with the Sonia Kashuk name logo on each piece, this collection has a lovely, luxe look and feel in the hand, especially for the price point. The packaging build is solid and all details are attended to, including ease of opening without it being floppy open and they close with a very satisfying *snap!* The lipstick cap also snaps on to reduce the chance of it coming off and smearing up the inside of your handbag. NOT something you want to have happen. The only package I was a little meh on is the blusher. It is in a squat cylinder with a clear window topped screw on cap. This one feels a bit chintzy. I'd have liked to have seen the blush pressed into a lovely compact like the eye shadow and highlighter. Eh... It isn't as if I'm going to drag this blush out and about with me. It just would have been nice.
Prices on these pieces range from $11.99 to $19.99. On the spendier end of the drugstore makeup spectrum but not outrageous. Especially as the quality and packaging are there.
The pieces I picked up are:
Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Eye Shadow Palette - Desert Escape, $19.99. This gorgeous five colour palette has four shimmers in nude shades of bronze, shell pink, sand and terracotta and a matte eggplant heart to ground or use as a liner.
Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Highlighter- Arabian Dreams, $19.99. This multi tasking powder can be used as a highlighter and mix and match with the Desert Escape palette or alone as eye colours, too.
Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Blusher - Casablanca , $11.99. This is a fresh, coral baked powder blush.
Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Colour - Eden, $11.99. There were two lippie options, Eden, which I chose is a sweet, juicy coral orange and Nirvana, a nude. I felt that Eden would suit me better.
I wanted to pick up the nail polishes but they were sold out. I considered getting one of the bronzing sticks but honestly, I wouldn't use it so I passed. There was an extra Arabian Nights Highlighter in the display and I snapped that baby up! When I do my individual review of that piece, you will see why. ***wink! wink! nudge! nudge!***
Gentle reader, aren't these pieces pretty? Didn't I blow way too much money on them? I did. I regret nothing. I'll be hitting you with reviews, swatches and raves of each piece, coming up up so keep your eyeballs peeled.
Did you pick up any of the Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Collection? Are you planning to? Tell me! Tell me! I want details.
