Spring has sprung and my thoughts have turned to pastels and brights and flowers. Because I'm a walking cliche. And I honestly don't care who knows it.
Color Club released a collection of Poptastic Pastel Neon polishes for Spring and I gobbled up some of them because as much as I say I'm not buying any more neon polishes, when it comes right down to it, I can't resist and I buy more neon polishes. Besides, these are pastel neons. Whole different animal.
Under the Black Light is a bright, banana pudding yellow neon creme. Applied over well prepped nails, I only needed two coats for a smooth, nearly fully opaque finish. I could have done a third, I suppose but it really does look fine with two. I didn't need undies for this polish to glow and pop.
Application is surprisingly smooth and easy for a neon. This polish is slightly streaky on the first coat then levels out and gets to where it is supposed to be on the second. There was no pulling, dragging, pooling or running. Dry time is neon polish quick and this polish dries satin. I added Seche Vite for that shiny-shine.
Wear time is not stellar. I had minor tip chipping by the end of the first day. So, the next, I did a little touching up and some super subtle nail art to cover that up.
With a dotting tool and white polish, I laid on dots along the free edge of all of my nails and on my ring and index nails, I dotted big, loosely flower shaped patterns. Topped with a second coat of Seche Vite, wear time was improved substantially. It was several more days before this mani chipped, again and had to be removed. So, mee'sa thinking that two coats of top coat will help this polish wear better when worn alone.
How do you like a neon yellow polish? Have you picked up any of the polishes from the Poptastic Pastel Neon Collection?
