Who the living hell woke up from their drug induced stupor and had the bright idea that it was time to make the No Makeup Makeup Look hot, hot, hot, once, again? What did they do? Have a dream about nubile, fresh faced beauties prancing in slow motion through a daisy filled meadow (this is beginning to sound an awful lot like a douche commercial) and decide that all of us need to switch from our nicely made up visages to fresh scrubbed looking faces glowing with youth and dew?
All I can say is, that person had better stay far away from me because I'm in the mood to put a serious hurt on someone and it might as well be them. Gentle reader, have you any clue how difficult it is to pull off the dewy, prancing through a douche meadow, No Makeup Makeup Look when you're fifty, have wrinkles, dark circles and have to draw on your eyebrows? Oh yeah. And you've lost that
loving feeling youthful glow that is so crucial to pulling the whole thing off?
Happily, there are products - a - plenty to help an old broad fake it so she can make it. Kinda. Let's take a quick look at what I use to put on a fast face that allows me to get out the door to a hair appointment, a quick store run or just bum around this joint with a little dignity.
Or without scaring the shit out of my cat...
I am going to share with you how I do an easy, quick (for me) No Makeup Makeup Look.
I start with clean, well moisturized skin. I believe that the secret to a look like this is well cared for skin. If I'm going out, it is at this point I hit the sunscreen. (Forgot to include that in the pic. I use the Neutrogena Pure Screen. High SPF, chemical free.)
First, I have to get my dark circles under control (kinda) and my brows on. I grab my IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Corrector in light and get some on my deep darkness and let it start sinking in. I use my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe and half ass on some fast framers.
Next, I take a mo and dampen a clean Beauty Blender and bounce on a smooth, even layer of a mix of Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre and Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in N20 all over my face. Then I use the tip of my Beauty Blender to smooth my under eye area, add a little more corrector so that it's as good as it's going to get. I use my finger to tap on a little creme eye shadow, usually Maybelline Color Tattoo in Nude Pink (not available) then I apply a very light coat of mascara. I need the mascara to give my eyes a little definition, as they are so hooded. I use my fingers to tap a little creme blush on my cheeks and a little creme highlight on my brow bones, cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose and cupid's bow to add some light and brightness to my face. I used my L'Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eye Liner in Highlighter, for this look.
To finish, I just slicked on a little Vaseine Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips. And done. It all takes me just a few minutes.
Emerging from hiding to share my No Makeup Makeup Look. I was just slopping around the house and my hair was in a damp bun (keeping it real, here) and I forgot to put on earrings before I shot these pictures. Some blogger I am.
This is the new hand fan I bought for the Summer. It's bigger then the one I usually buy each year and I'm in love with it.
