Soap and Glory Clean on Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel

I ordered a bottle of Soap and Glory Clean on Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel back when I was shopping the latest Sephora VIB sale. It was marked down, as Sephora was clearing out the line and I had my discount so I thought, what the hell, why not? Sephora had it priced at, I think... $16.00 or so? Full price? It was down to ten, clearance when I picked it up, then I had fifteen percent off. So, it was a pretty good deal. Drugstore.com is now carrying Soap and Glory and has this shower gel in stock and it is priced at ten dollars.

Soap and Glory Clean On Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel is 16.2 ounces in a recyclable plastic pump bottle. The label is pink and white, grey and black, graphic and eye catching. There is a lot to look at, read and enjoy. I love labels like this. I freely admit that I am an avid label reader. The more fun, information and good stuff on a label, the happier this girl is. This label makes me happy.

The shower gel is a creamy pale. pale pink-y creamy gel-ish that works to bubbles and lather. The scent is light, fresh, soapy-clean with a hint of kiwi and slightly floral and a little chemical. Pleasant. Not stellar. I like it... I am not head over heels in love with it.

Bubbles! As you can see there is only a fair amount of lather. Not as much as I would expect and I had to use quite a bit of the shower gel to get this rather anemic foam action. Kind of womp-womp, overall. I own and have owned shower gels and body washes that give me insane cushioning lather and bubbles using less product. This shower gel cleanses very well and is okay to shave with. Clean on Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel rinses cleanly away and leaves my skin feeling fresh and lightly scented but once I pat my skin dry, that little word, "clarifying" makes it's presence known when my already dry skin is left tight and uncomfortable and I'm reaching for the body oil and lotion. Now, I'm not blaming the shower gel all the way here, remember that I'm a #driedoutoldhag while reading this.

Gentle reader, I think that Soap and Glory Clean on Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel, $10.00 is a fairly nice product, overall but honestly, there is better to be had and at a more wallet friendly price. I am using this bottle of the product that I have but once it is gone, I won't be purchasing it, again.

Have you tried Soap and Glory Clean on Me Creamy Clarifying Shower Gel? Do you like it? Please do tell.

  1. I love a lot of Soap & Glory products, but haven't tried this one. I think this is one I'll probably skip because my skin is dry and tight as it is! It sounds like it could be good for my boyfriend who tends to have oilier skin than me though.

  2. There are several Soap & Glory goodies that i tried and liked, but sounds like this body wash doesn't quite fit with the rest. Thanks for your honest review!

  3. This body wash sounds like a fail. I really wonder if you need a clarifying shower gel to get clean, might be better as a shampoo or conditioner.

I've wondered about the products from this brand, and I thought they were more about the packaging/marketing and a little too pricey for me. I'd rather get some of the L'Occitane gels.

  5. That stinks when you try something new you are all excited to play and it isn't what you hoped for. I have a few products like that this month heheh. Thanks for reviewing this so I don't impulse buy it when I am online at Sephora heh

  7. I don't use shower gels at all so this is something that I probably won't be interested in trying.

  10. I've never used anything from Soap & Glory but my blog partner seems to like the line. I hate it though when items don't measure up to my expectations.

  13. Your boyfriend may like it, then. I will use mine up, I just need lots of lotion! lol I want to try their Hand Food hand lotion, I hear that it's wonderful and I love a good hand lotion and I also hear nice things about their lip glosses. I'm not writing off the brand, for sure. :D

  16. I've never tried this line, though I've always loved the names of their products. Between the over-dryness and the anemic foam, it sounds like there are better options to be had.

  18. I have only tried a few things from Soap and Glory, but I'm always interested in checking out their products. I'm all about lather when it comes to body wash and love the feeling it has so I know that for the price I would pay for this product, it wouldn't last me long to clean this plus size body. Darn.

  19. Yeah, this one isn't much of a bargain. ;) I'm liking it as long as it lasts but I don't anticipate it hanging around, too long. lol
