I fell kind of hard for the Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Collection. The pieces from this limited edition are so warm, soft and wearable. Perfect for the upcoming Summer season. One of my favorites, a piece I keep reaching for, in spite of the other options at my fingertips is the Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Colour in Eden, $11.99.
Let us speak first of the packaging for it is lovely. The sleek, hard edged outer case is decorated in the signature colour scheme for the Sahara Sunset Collection with a black cap with the Sonia Kashuk logo and a small acrylic end cap that shows the shade contained within. The cap clicks into place to help prevent that oh-so-annoying lippie coming open and jacking up the inside of your bag thing. The bottom of the case is embellished in gold and cinnabar stripes.
Pull off the little acrylic end cap for a delightful bonus treat. A mini matching lip gloss pot. Yes, it is real lip gloss and yes, you can dip your finger or a little brush in and wear it. Isn't that groovy?
The shade of the Sonia Kashuk Sine Luxe Sheer Lip Colour in Eden is a juicy tangerine. The texture of the lipstick is a gel-creme, giving it a soft, smooth application with no drag or pull, it just glides on. The finish is a glossy, sheer wash of colour; you can see it but it's more subtle and will be influenced by your own lip colour. On me, this lipstick comes out more grapefruit/coral than true tangerine. The feel is pure bliss. So light, silky and comfortable. I can wear this lipstick all day, every day and my lips love the caring, moisturizing formula. Wear time is about like for gloss, for me. I smack and rub and worry off my lip colour so I'm at the mirror, often to reapply. Not a problem as I don't mind touching up.
On the back of my hand, the left (as you are facing your screen) is the lipstick and the right is the gloss.
On my lips:
Isn't it pretty?
I just love, love, love this lip colour. The packaging, the texture, ease of application, the soft, comforting formula, the glossy shine... This lippie is everything.
