I received these three tablets of Feather and Bone Face Gems to try and share with my gentle readers. These compressed tablets of natural, ayurveda based ingredients are meant to cleanse, gently exfoliate and "Give Your Face the Magic Glow of Love!" These tablets dissolve readily in a little water, become a thin-ish cleanser that also exfoliates. The scent is herbal/earthy. My skin felt very clean and nice and soft! Unfortunately, these are too stripping for my very dry skin type. These would be wonderful for oily, combo, normal skins and fab for travel, as they are lightweight and packaged to go.
Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm contains Hungarian Moor Mud and Orange Blossom Oil to cleanse away all traces of makeup, even waterproof mascara and leave the skin fragranced to perfection. While there was no way I was going to get that grey goo anywhere near my very sensitive eyes to test the claim that it removes mascara, I did cleanse my face with it and I have to say, I was impressed. It got my skin nice and clean and didn't leave it feeling stripped. The fragrance was... Interesting. At $110.00 for 1.7 ounces, I'll stick to equally effective for me and far more wallet friendly options.
Josie Maran Argan Exfoliating Cleansing Powder, Yaaasssss!!!!!! (Did I just say that?) This stuff is Gloriana in a mix it yourself cleansing powder. If I had known how much of this product is needed to do the job, I could have gotten several good uses out of this sample pack, as it was, stupid me wasted much of it and only got one. But that one was enough to convince me. This fine, somewhat grainy powder, when mixed with water gently cleanses, exfoliates, softens and conditions the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed, soft, smooth and happy. I didn't want to love this. When my budget allows, I will be buying this in the full size.
Glamglow Youthcleanse Daily Exfoliating Cleanser. Dammit. This is another one I didn't want to love. I mean, talk about your hyped up, seriously? You think I'm going anywhere near that? product. This sample arrived on my doorstep courtesy of a bag of samples in a recent Spehora order. I tried it, expecting to hate it while mentally composing my disdainful, respectfully scathing review. Shit. This cleanser is fantastic. It cleans, gently exfoliates, you know I like me some exfoliation, rinses away to reveal clean, silky, plumped, comfortable skin. Not dried. Not stripped. Not tight. At $39.00 for five ounces, this stuff is spendy but maybe when the VIB sale rolls around, I'll treat myself.
Jeunesse Luminesce Cellular Rejuvenation Serum. According to the website this serum, which contains the highest possible percentage of growth factor complex from adult stem cells is purported to soothe and support the skin, temporarily firm, nourish, diminish the appearance of aging. I only had enough of this product, in sachet samples for seven days. While it feels nice, going on and is moderately hydrating under moisturizer, I didn't have enough of this product to appreciate any visible change in my skin.
Instantly Ageless. This product is supposed to temporarily firm the skin. I don't know if I am inept or if products like this and my skin just aren't sympitaco. I really tried to make this work and I couldn't gel with it. Kind of a bummer, really. I mean if anyone can use a little firming...
Exuviance Collagen Triple Boost Serum. If it says Exuviance on the label, you can pretty much bet that I'm going to like it and this serum is no exception. I had several packets of this and while they weren't enough to give me results, they were enough to whet my appetite for more.
Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Complex. I received this snacked sized bottle of this gorgeous serum as a Klout perk a while back and I have been using it very sparingly, hoarding it like a three year old hoards broken crayons and piles of play money in the bottom of their closet. I still have about half of the bottle left and I really should go ahead and use it up before it goes off. This serum smooths my skin, makes it feel like silk and gives it a soft, luminous glow under makeup. I would love to have a big bottle of this so that I could use it as liberally as I please, anytime I like. It's just splendid.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream is rich, thick, emollient and yes, hydrating. This sachet packet lasted me... I want to say almost a week, as a little of this cream goes a long way. I wasn't able to appreciate any results but I did get enough use to know that I'd like to have a full size of this lovely eye cream on my dressing table.
Perricone MD Cold Plasma. How much "Meh!" can you pack into one tiny sachet? I was able to use this several times. I was singularly underwhelmed each and every time. I certainly was not inspired to wish for a full size jar. Just as well...
Philosophy Live Joyously Firming Body Emulsion is a blend of pink peony blossoms, sparkling tangerine and a hint of warm patchouli. I love Philosophy's Firming Body Emulsion formula, it spreads across the skin readily, sinks right in, makes my skin feel like velvet and the scent lingers all day. This fragrance is light, fresh, slightly sharp from the citrus, softly sweet from the peony and delightfully feminine. I need a great big bottle and the shower gel and spray fragrance for layering. STAT!
Vita Coco Coconut Oil Raw, cold pressed, virgin, organic. This coconut oil smells delicious and it's wonderful for hair and skin. I have a jar on my Amazon wishlist and I'll be ordering a full size, when I use up my samples.
Which of these products have you tried or currently own? Any real standouts that you really love? Tell! Tell!
