Origins Three Part Harmony What I Do

Life after forty five. Described by many as... Old. Over the hill. Washed up. Done. Gentle reader, check your societal conditioning at the door and step into the next phase of your beautiful life! We on the leading edge of the Gen X wave, in the forty-five to fifty age range are not anywhere near done. We are just getting going! We are secure in our lives, established and grounded. We have raised our children or are getting very close to sending them off into the wide world and many of us are free to now pursue new passions, follow our dreams, do our own thing. My own thing, my passion, well... You're reading it.

Origins Oil Infused Serum and Nourishing Cream

One beauty category I cover often in this blog is skin care. Taking proper care of our skin is crucial, especially as we mature. Lines and wrinkles are inevitable, there is no stopping it but properly hydrated skin is radiant and plumped, the signs of aging temporarily softened, diminished and the complexion appears fresher. vital and more youthful.

Origins is skin care that is powered by nature, proven by science. I was recently offered the opportunity to receive and try two beautiful new products by Origins. I received the Origins Three Part Harmony. a two piece collection comprised of an Oil Infused Serum for renewal, repair and radiance and a Nourishing Cream for added hydration and an enhanced, natural glow.

Origins Oil Infused Serum and Nourishing Cream Product Details

Let's take a look at these two products.

Origins Oil Infused Serum, What They Say:
This unique skin-quenching oil infused into a skin-comforting concentrate with deeply nourishing Theobroma Seed Butter and natural lipids helps renew skin’s hydration levels. With Tazetta Lily Bulbs and Myrtle, it helps produce youthful supplies of natural collagen to help visibly repair skin’s structure. Fine lines and wrinkles are softened. With Omega-rich Crambe Oil and Scutellaira, it helps impart a healthy, vibrant glow and refines tone.

What I Say:
This milky, nourishing serum drops almost instantly into my skin to immediately nourish, renew and refresh my complexion. The hydrating power of this serum is astonishing. I applied this one day, after cleansing and didn't apply an additional moisturizer... I got sidetracked, got on to doing other things and didn't think about it. I went to bed that night and woke the next morning and my skin still felt fairly moisturized and comfortable. For a serum to hydrate my very dry skin that well, I am blown away. Seriously. Impressed. This is a gorgeous product.

Nourishing Cream, What They Say:
This intensely rich cream with Tazetta Lily Bulbs, White Myrtle and Japanese Knot Weed helps produce youthful supplies of natural collagen to help visibly repair skin’s structure. Fine lines and wrinkles are softened. With deeply nourishing plant butters plus Vitamin E, this luscious cream renews skin’s hydration levels. With Scutellaria, it helps reveal radiance, refine tone and brighten skin to impart a healthy, vibrant glow.

What I Say:
This rich, hydrating cream spreads readily across my skin, sinks in easily and deeply hydrates to plump up my fine lines, temporarily improving the signs of aging and give my skin a lovely glow. I like this cream, I think it is going to be wonderful for those cold, dry Winter days coming up fast. The quality of these products is truly lovely and perfect for anyone looking to be truly radiant.

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Pop Blush | My Notes

Clinique Cheek Pop

In the history of adorable makeup have you ever laid eyes on anything even more so than Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Pop blushes?

Clinique Cheep Pop Blush Pink Pop

Pure liquid pigment is transformed through a process of slow baking into a silky fine powder that imparts to the cheeks a translucent, perfectly pigmented flush. The shade I bought is Pink Pop, a soft, medium pink with a barely there hint of natural, healthy radiance.

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Pink Pop Detail and Packaging

Clinique did a perfect job on the design of this product. The sleek, crystal clear acrylic compact is the perfect home for the exquisitely lovely daisy that is nestled within. A part of me wants all of them, in a crystal bowl on my my dressing table. How pretty would that look, I ask you?

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Swatch Pink Pop

Swatched, you can see that this blush is the perfect, sweet flush of colour for the cheeks. It is pigmented enough to to show up but it isn't overpowering. I am a soft blush person. I dislike a strong blush on my face, it's a personal preference, but at the same time I demand that the blush I apply go on smoothly, blend in perfectly and wear for many hours so that I don't have to constantly look in on it and worry about touching it up. Clinique Cheep Pop touches all of those bases for me.

I love the Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Pop Blush. There are a couple of shades I wouldn't mind adding to my stash, in the near future. Have you picked up any of these pretty blushes? What are your favorite shades?

It Cosmetics Hello Lashes Clinically Proven 5-in-1 Mascara

#StyleHunters4Ulta #UltaTrendAlert ::sent for consideration//affiliate::

The Ulta Beauty 21 Days of Beauty are winding down. Just a couple of days left. I have a great beauty steal to tell you about. If mascara is your bag, IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Clinically Proven 5-in-1 Mascara should be on your lashes.

IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes mascara

IT Cosmetics created this mascara to lengthen, volumize with lash loving ingredients and a cutting edge serum. The 5-in-1 natural formula is also paraben, fragrance and sulfate free so it is as good for you as it is good looking!

IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara Wand Detail

Packaged in a black rubberized tube with an elongated black rubberized wand that lengthens, curls and separates lashes while the Innovative Magic Wand Lash Ball Detailer tip is designed to reach every last inner and outer corner lash. The formula is a little more dry than that to which I am normally accustomed. It applies easily and I don't get clumpy during application. The longer teeth do deposit some mascara on my upper waterline. If I don't tight line, I have to use a Q-Tip to clean it off. Minor. I have other mascaras do that to me, as well. It's not a deal breaker. This mascara wears very well, all day. I don't experience any flaking, smearing or transferring to my upper lid.

IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara On Lashes
IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Mascara In Action

This is one coat, on salon day. As you can see, it gives nice lashes, even with just one coat! Eye shadow is a quick and easy look using the rose gold, peach and ivory shades from my Too Faced Love Palette.

For day to day, I am a one generous coat of mascara kinda girl and I like this one. I think I'll pick up a backup while it's on sale. If you're ready for a tube or two, the IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Clinically Proven 5-in-1 Mascara, $24.00.

What are you shopping for in these last, desperate days of the Ulta Beauty 21 Days of Beauty? Have you hauled, madly? I've done okay. Better than I thought I would... I may do a little more damage, yet.

Bargain Beauty Find | L'Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray

I was drifting around my local Target, one day, picking up a few things I needed including hair care products. I had some coupons for L'Oreal hair care so I decided to try their Smooth Intense line and while I was at it, I grabbed a bottle of the L'Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray. I was skeptical, I mean, could a spray really help dry my hair faster? At less than four dollars and with a dollar off coupon, I figured I didn't have much to lose, why not find out?

Bargain Beauty Find L'Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray

As a thick haired American, one task I don't necessarily enjoy is blowing my hair dry. I can think of things I would rather spend my time doing... Walking down a paved road barefoot in Death Valley in the Summer. Having root canal. Cooking. Drinking decaf coffee... Getting my hair completely dry is a time consuming pain in my ass process. Section. Clip. Dry, dry, dry. Brush, brush, brush. Think I'm done? Nope. Still got wet spots. Gah! Get back in there. And repeat.

The experts tell us to let our hair air dry until nearly dry then finish with the blow dryer. If I do that, my wurls set in all kinds of crazy ways and my hair looks as if I stuck my finger in a light socket. Not cute! I have to start with my hair wet, apply my leave ins, usually a bit of treatment oil, a little leave in and then mist the L'Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray all through my hair. I blow it dry, using my paddle brush. If I want it to be especially smooth, I add a finishing polish with my straightener or I curl it.

L'Oreal Blow Dry It Quick Dry Primer Spray is a Bargain Beauty Find for one simple reason. It works! I don't know how. I don't know why... But this stuff gets my hair dry faster, makes it look smoother, shinier and it stays that way until I wash my hair. I like it and I'll definitely buy it, again.

Have you tried this quick dry spray? Other brands? What are your favorites?

Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali

#StyleHunters4Ulta #UltaTrendAlert ::sent for consideration//affiliate::

Ulta 21 Days of Beauty continues. This is alas the last week! I have two more fantastic get gorgeous items to share with you before this sale ends!

Cargo Blush Bali Rose Pink With Soft Shimmer

Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali regular price: $26.00, today only price, $13.00. Tucked in it's signature brushed aluminum tin is a cake of softly shimmery, medium rose pink blush. This is my first Cargo cosmetic item and I didn't know what to expect. I must say, wow! The powder is finely milled but not fly away or dusty. Pigmented and rich, it isn't harsh or staring. The colour is well balanced and suits my fair, neutral toned complexion right down to the ground. There are two other shades: Los Cabos, a soft tangerine and Ibiza, a shimmering hot pink.

Cargo Blush Bali Swatch

Here is a swatch on the back of my hand. It doesn't take a lot of the product to get a nice hefty swatch. The powder applies smoothly and blends out evenly. I can apply this and it wears all day long. A testament to the lasting power of the Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali, I put this on my face before I went to the salon to have my hair done. My stylist, a lovely gal, is a very enthusiastic hair washer. She can have the makeup off my face faster than you can say, "Bob's your Uncle." When my hair was all done, I still had some blush on my face. It didn't look freshly applied, but I could still see it. If a blush can survive, even partially, my stylist's vigorous attentions, it is impressive, indeed.

Cargo Blush Bali on Face Love This Blush

Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush in Bali, freshly applied pre hair appointment. Obviously. Just look at those miles of roots! I am so impressed with this blush. The packaging is so cool. The quality of the powder, the pigmentation, application, wear; survived one of my hair appointments. It is a winner. I will be making more of these beautiful blushes mine, in the future!

Do you own Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush? Do you love? Love? Love? If you are going to take advantage of this fabulous price $13.00, yasssss!!! in what shade (s) will you indulge?

Curious about what else is on offer, today? Let's take a look see:

CK One Color Brow Pencil + Gel Duo, Regular Price, $22.00 21 Days of Beauty Price, $11.00.

I have received both of my orders from my little shopping sprees from this sale and I'm pretty happy! I bought some lovely little things to add to my stash. I'll be sharing them with you, soon. What have you picked up, so far? Planning to do more shopping, before the sale ends? I may yet end up doing a little more shopping. I think I might need a backup of that IT Cosmetics mascara... More about that in a day or two...

Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder Available Again!

Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder

In case you wanted one and missed it, last year, the Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder is back for a limited time. Available in two shades, Pink Glow and Bronze Glow this beautiful, silky powder imparts a beautiful radiance to the face. I have read reviews stating that people weren't happy with Pink Glow leaving sparkles or even being chunky. That hasn't been my experience. I do get a few random sparkles, from time to time. I just fluff them away.

Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder Swatches

Pink Glow is great for people who prefer a cooler, pink toned highlight. These swatches (swipe and blended down) are a bit heavy to give you a good look at how nicely pigmented, smooth and silky the powder is. My highlighter is from last year's release, so the packaging is different but I am assuming that the formula and colour are pretty much the same.

If you were craving this beautiful powder, last year and didn't get it, now's your chance. The Bobbi Brown Highlight Powder is available at Sephora

Did you pick up this beautiful highlighter last year? Planning to snag it this year? Which colour would you get? Pink... Bronze? Do tell!

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop

Hype. I like to think that I'm immune to it but to be perfectly honest, I'm not. The proof is right here, in front of your very eyes. Working with Becca Cosmetics, makeup artist/beauty YouTube vlogger Jaclyn Hill created a highlighter then unleashed it upon an unsuspecting public. The hype was huge! Almost epic, dare I say? And I fell for it. Hook, line and sinker. My first ever Becca purchase is the Becca X Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop. I am an evangelist for the youthful glow movement. I believe that a touch of luminosity well placed is just the thing every face at every age needs so it made sense to me to buy this item. Plus... It's so pretty!

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop - Packaging Overview

The box is a shiny rose gold with raised bubbles. I am a notorious rose gold magpie, coat anything in rose gold and you can be assured that I'll zero in on it. It was a dead cert that I would lock eyes on this packaging! When you open the box and slide out the compact it lands in your hand with a gentle, heavy plop! Weighty and tactile, the Becca packaging is unique and beautiful. It is industrial in it's look, with it's brushed metal top and bottom panels and brown rubberized trim. Becca is etched in the top, curving, twice all the way around. In the front edge is a typical snap closure.

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop - Beautiful Compact

Open the compact and in the lid is a full size mirror and more of the rubberized trim top and bottom. While it looks great, it's a pain in my ass to keep clean!

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop - Product Detail

In the well of the compact is the powder. I was a bit surprised, when I first opened it to see just how warm and golden/peach it looked and honestly, I was skeptical that it would work for my fair skin.

There really isn't too much point to this photograph... I was screwing around, editing the pictures for this post and this one wanted to take me in this direction. It does give a nice close up of the product, so I decided to include it.

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop - Finger Swatch

I dipped my fingers in to pick up a swatch and the texture of the powder is highly refined and gloriously soft but the press doesn't feel fragile. The colour is warmer, to my eye than it's description. Champagne Pop is more yellow gold and a bit more peach than pink. This is a heavy swatch, I didn't have to press hard on the surface of the powder to pick up this much product. It is very pigmented and has opacity without being thick, chalky, chunky or powdery.

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop - Swatch

Here a thick swatch. I wanted to show the glow and just how smooth and silky this powder is, on the skin.

Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed - Champagne Pop - On Face

Described as a "white gold with a pinky-peach under tone," some of the pictures and videos I saw were of this highlighter applied quite heavily, shown under very bright professional lights and it can pack a reflective punch! I had some trepidation, fearing that perhaps I was diving into deep, mirror infested waters. My fears were unfounded. When I apply Champagne Pop to my face with a soft highlight brush, it gives me a gentle, luminous glow that is not glittery or overtly sparkly. Controlling the amount applied prevents it from overwhelming and the effect is a beautiful, brushed by an angel wing glow that would flatter just about everyone. I don't notice this highlighter emphasizing pores or fine lines and my fears about the tone have been calmed, as well. This highlighter doesn't tone overly warm or gold/peach on my skin. I just see light.

I am fair, with neutral undertones and some creeping redness, (thanks. Obama! But, seriously, I turned fifty and turned red. What's up with that?) and this highlighter works for me. I've seen it on many different skin tones and it seems to be so pretty on just about everyone.

If you are ready to experience the effervescent light giving joy of Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop, I would suggest that you pick one up. While this is a limited edition item, it is still widely available in Sephora stores and on their website.

Do you own this pretty highlighter? What do you think of it? Do you like it as well as I do? Not as much? Spill your guts. Just... Do it on my kitchen floor, please. I'm out of Spot Shot.

    Rocksbox My Third One

My third Rocksbox worked my temptation center, hard. There were two pieces in this one that I wanted but I had other financial responsibilities and was required to adult. Adulting sucks, sometimes. Would you like to take a closer look at the pretties that I had to wave bye-bye to?

Rocksbox My Third One Gorjana Lariat Necklace

The Gorjana Mika Lariat Necklace. Man... I really, really wanted to keep this one. My husband even urged me to go for it but with an Insider's Price of $60.00 there were other things I needed to do with that money.

Rocksbox My Third Kendra Scott Earrings in Turquoise

Kendra Scott Elle Earrings in Turquoise. I love gold and turquoise together and these earrings are so pretty and flattering on. The insider's price on these was $44.00.

Rocksbox My Third Nakamol Lapis and Gold Wrap Bracelet

I didn't regret wrapping up and shipping back the Nakamol Lapis and Gold Wrap Bracelet, Insider's Price, $32.00. I'm not wild about wearing fabric jewelry around my wrists as I wash my hands frequently and it's a pain in my ass to remove and put it back on all of the time and this bracelet was a bit too snug for my liking.

If you're curious about how Rocksbox works, it is a paid monthly subscription service that costs $19.00. You sign up, give them your info and a preferred payment method. As your preferred payment is charged, each month, you receive in your account, $10.00 in "Shine Spend" that you may use as a credit towards any future purchase. This Shine Spend brings your subscription price down to $9.00 a month, if you make a purchase and use your credit. There is also a program for referring friends, if they use your link to sign up you receive additional Shine Spend. They in turn can refer friends and get Shine Spend and so on and on and on and well, you get the idea.

Once you sign up and take care of business, the fun begins. First, you take a fun and fast style quiz so that your stylist can get a feel for your preferences. Then you are strongly encouraged to make a wishlist. The bigger the wishlist, the better! You want to have a nice library from which your stylist can pull pieces for you. Once that is done, your first box will be curated from your style quiz and wishlist picks and sent to you. Your pieces arrive in a strong, reusable plastic mailer and a stiff paperboard box with a ribbon tie. You will also find, under your sparkle, a prepaid return label. Keep track of all of those things! You will need them, later.

Enjoy and wear your jewelry for a while. Try the pieces on. Do you love? Not so much? If there is a piece or two or all three that you adore, it is easy as pie to buy them and keep them for your own. Any or all pieces that you choose to return, simply wrap them up as they came to you, return them to their tissue nest in their box, slip the box into the mailer, seal it up, stick the return label on to the envelope and drop it in the mail. Don't forget to go to your profile and leave feedback right away! As soon as you leave feedback, your next box is curated and on it's way to you. You can receive and try and return/buy as many boxes each month as your little heart desires. There is no limit. (As far as I know.)

If Rocksbox sounds like something that you would enjoy, would like to try, please use my link and code: ERIKABFF125 for a free month.

Have you tried Rocksbox? I know that the concept of a subscription to "borrow" and buy jewelry is kind of strange but now that I've done it for a few boxes, I have to say, I'm kind of enjoying it.
