A Girl's Gotta Spa! A Planner's Gotta Plan!

//sent for consideration::self purchased::affiliate link//

I have two obsessions occupying my time, recently. Skin care. Always. And planning. I got bitten hard by the planner bug and I'm having so much fun with it! It's the perfect excuse for adults to play with stickers, coloured pens and washi tape! I love to sit at my desk with a coffee and a snack and all of my supplies and decorate my weekly and monthly layouts and plan out my days and weeks. Such a nice way to relax, have a little fun and be productive, all at the same time.

A Girls's Gotta Spa Energizing Citrus Body Lotion and Planner notesfrommydressingtable.com

One aspect of good skin care is taking care of the bod. Keeping the skin soft, smooth and hydrated is key, especially as Winter approaches, the temps drop and the humidity and every last bit of moisture is sucked out of your skin! If you are like me and have a few more miles on your tires, dry skin is likely an even bigger concern. A Girl's Gotta Spa! Energizing Citrus Body Lotion can help. With their beautiful assertion that You Deserve to Be Pampered! and their mission to create effective, caring products that wrap your skin in comfort.

The light, fresh citrus scent is invigorating and while it lingers for a bit, it is so soft, so gentle that I can easily wear other fragrances without worrying about scent clashing. This lotion is beautiful and I would like a barrel full.

I am in love with Laura's (My Newest Addiction) stickers. They are pretty, fun to use, beautifully made and fairly priced. Laura makes the stickers to order and ships in a very timely manner. Doing business with her shop is a pure pleasure. I have a few sheets of her stickers on top of my planner in my photos, above. Of course, I am loving the coffee and makeup themed stickers! I already have my Christmas Week stickers, bought from her shop. Yes, I have already planned that week's layout! Starting Friday at Midnight and running all of Black Friday, you can save 50% on your order of $10.00 or more. Just use code: HOLIDAY50 when prompted. (I don't "make" anything off of this, I just like to support independent, woman owned small businesses, when I can.)

My planner is the Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner in Gold Foil Dots. Gentle reader, would you be interested in review, Plan With Me, How I Customize My Planner type posts? I am no perfect expert but I'm having a lot of fun with this and I'd love to share.

Pamper Your Lips and Delight Your Senses with TokyoMilk DARK

TokyoMilk DARK Lip Elixirs Cocoa Noir Review notesfrommydressingtable.com

One of my favorite little indulgences is really good lip balm. I have to keep my lips protected and extremely well hydrated so high quality, effective lip balms aren't just a luxury for me, they are an everyday staple. Price and where I buy them isn't my biggest concern, performance is everything. However, if it happens to be a gorgeous product in lovely packaging, I'm certainly not going to turn it down!

TokyoMilk DARK Lip Elixirs Review Tin notesfrommydressingtable.com

ToykoMilk DARK Femme Fatale Collection Lip Elixirs qualify as gorgeous and are an experience, every time I use them. Packaged in sturdy, black enameled round tins with a raised design and logo they come with a decorative paper tape and plastic shrink wrapped over seal. The first delight is removing that shrinkie wrap. It comes off and a puff of the scent from inside reaches the nose and entices you to tear away the paper tape seal that is reminiscent of the government seal on a liquor bottle, remove that lid and get into the contents.

TokyoMilk DARK Lip Elixirs Cocoa Noir Product Detail notesfrommydressingtable.com

In the tin is a silken blend that contains bee balm, jasmine, crushed extracts of aloe and Vitamin E to soothe, hydrate, soften and protect my lips. Luscious flavor extracts tantalize the senses and keep me coming back for more.

Petrolatum, Microcrystaline Wax, Flavor, Canola Oil, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E). Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Acetate, Stevia Rebaudiana (Stevia) Leaf Extract, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Flower Extract, Monarda Didyma (Bee Balm) Leaf Extract.
The flavor I have here is Cocoa Noir NO. 60. This Lip Elixir scented with Dark Rum, Maraschino Cherry, Sweet Milk and Cacao Bean can be best described as unctuous. I was surprised at how complex, rich and full of depth is the scent of this lip balm. The flavor to the tongue is softly sweet with a zephyr of cocoa and vanilla. This Lip Elixir makes my lips feel soft, pampered and cherished. Just the stuff I need and the fact that it is a lovely sensual experience as well makes it doubly delightful.

TokyoMilk DARK Femme Fatale Collection Lip Elixirs come in six rich scent/flavor combinations so any sensualist should be able to find one, two or more that will entice and delight. I bought two more flavors (Salted Caramel and La Vie En Rose) after I experienced this one. I'm hooked! At $7.00 each, this is an affordable indulgence. It's also a perfect little cart tosser if you need just a few clams to make free shipping!

TokyoMilk DARK is cruelty free.

Have you tried these delectable lip balms? What do you think of them? What are your favorite scent/flavors?

Madam Glam Nail Polish | Swatches and Review

//products sent for consideration//

Madam Glam Nail Polish Cashmere notesfrommydressingtable.com

I was recently offered the opportunity to share a few Madam Glam nail polishes with my gentle readers. I was in a weird head space that day and rather than being smart and choosing four colours across the spectrum of shades available, I chose four. blue. polishes. Yeah. I know. But in my defense, they are four very pretty blue polishes. Let's take a look-see, shall we?

Cashmere is a soft, ever so slightly blue-y grey creme. Very clean and chic.

Madam Glam Nail Polish Dusty Navy notesfrommydressingtable.com

Dusty Navy is a dirty deep blue crelly. Grown up edgy.

Madam Glam Nail Polish Sea, Swing and Sun notesfrommydressingtable.com

Sea, Swing and Sun, this is a softly blurred, warm sky blue creme. Soft and comfortable.

Madam Glam Nail Polish Underground Queen notesfrommydressingtable.com

Underground Queen. A sleek, sophisticated greyed blue crelly.

Lets run it down.

Formula, Application and Wear:

Both the cremes and crellies have very good formulas. The viscosity is medium, with good flow without being runny or sticky. The polish applies smoothly and easily without stacking, running, pooling, dragging, bubbling or flooding my cuticles. I didn't have to do a lot of cleanup, just fussy refining. Dry time is pretty decent, especially with a fast dry top coat. I always use fast dry top coats, I can't attest to dry/cure times with a standard top coat. Wear time for me is three to four days, about the same as I get with any nail polish on my natural nails. I am happy with that wear time. YMMV, of course.

Madam Glam nail polishes are cruelty free, 5-free and vegan.

Bottles and Brushes:

The bottles are tall, slender, squared. They hold the standard 1/5 ounce. I like the way they look but the narrow base makes them a little precarious while in use. Be careful to steady the bottle when pulling the brush out of the bottle and dabbing off the excess polish to not tip the bottle. Especially if, like me, you are an epic klutz.

I enjoy a wider brush to apply my polish, they work with my nail shape and polish application "style" and the brush in Madam Glam polishes don't disappoint. Three of my brushes were of the wider, "OPI style" they were cleanly trimmed, applied the polish smoothly without leaving insane streaks or trails of bubbles in their wake. One bottle had a standard round brush in it. Strange, but the brush was good quality and applied the polish well so no big deal.

Pricing and Availability:

Madam Glam nail polishes are $10.95 a bottle. For a limited time, get an early Black Friday discount: Buy 6, save 50% by entering code EARLYBF at checkout. (I do not receive any benefit from this. Just sharing the info.)

So far, I am impressed with Madam Glam polishes and I would like to try other colours. Have you tried these polishes, their gels or makeup? What do you think of them? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Get Your Skin Holiday Ready with Exuviance Review notesfrommydressingtable.com

Is your skin holiday ready? This time of year, life can get crazy! The kids are in fifty different after school activities, work is nuts, you are dashing all over the place, trying to keep up with everything while shopping, decorating, planning and executing. Who has time to breathe? Or sleep? And all of that hurry up and hustle begins to show on our complexion. Our skin gets dry or too oily, rough, dull and loses it's brilliance and tone. When these signs begin to appear on our face, it is time to stop, block out a little time, turn off the ringer on our phone, kick the husband or partner and the kids, pets, homework and everything else out the door and take a little time to pamper, recharge and get back that healthy glow.

Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial with it's triple oxygenating blend is just the thing to deliver an infusion of pure oxygen to detoxify, brighten and restore a youthful glow to your complexion. Plus, just using the stuff is a refreshing, enjoyable experience. How perfect does that sound, right about now?

Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial:
  • Detoxifies and eliminates aging dullness
  • Stimulates vital cell energy
  • Provides essential support for optimal collagen levels
  • PHA/Bionic Blend adds extra youth-promoting benefits to restore radiance and suppleness
Aqua (Water), Perfluorohexane, Gluconolactone, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Dimethicone PEG-7 Phosphate, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Polysorbate 20, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Lactobionic Acid, Coco-Glucoside, Perfluorodecalin, Perfluoromethylcyclopentane, Isononyl Isononanoate, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Butylene Glycol, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Ammonium Hydroxide, Sodium Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Polyquaternium-10, Carrageenan, Disodium EDTA, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polysorbate 60, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Glycol, Methyldihydrojasmonate, Hexyl Salicylate, Benzyl Acetate, Cyclamen Aldehyde, 2,6-Dimethyl-7-Octen-2-ol, Juniperus Mexicana Oil, Heliotropine, 3-Hexenol, Methyl Benzodioxepinone, 2,4-Dimethyl-3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, CI 60730 (Ext. Violet 2), CI 42090 (Blue 1).

Using the Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial Couldn't be easier or more pleasant. Simply pump a generous amount out of the bottle and gently massage onto dampened skin and watch the blue gel convert to a thick, white bubbly foam. Sit back, relax and enjoy the tickly bubbles for a few minutes and allow the foam to disappear completely. Once the bubbles are gone, your treatment is finished. Rinse your face and pat dry with a soft towel. Now, look in the mirror and admire your brighter, more translucent, radiant complexion.

Okay fair warning. I'm sharing a makeup free (well mostly makeup free) pic so that you can see how my skin looks a few minutes after a treatment with this masque. In the interest of full disclosure, I created my brows and did something about my dark circles, because... Damn! Other than that, the only thing on my face is serums, moisturizer and lip balm. My skin isn't flawless. Not by a long shot but it's pretty good and the Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial gives it a nice boost, if I do say so, myself.

I hope that the site of my old, unmadeup face wasn't too shocking.

So, what do you think? Does the Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial look like something that you would be interested in adding to your skin care arsenal? What are you doing to get your skin holiday ready?

Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case | My Notes

Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case Review notesfrommydressingtable.com

I saw the Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case on Instagram long before it released and I knew that I had to have it. Sequins and rose gold will get me every time.

Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case Interior Details notesfrommydressingtable.com

Zip open the soft case and you will see, in the lid and insert in this year's Happy Holidayz design, inset are a snack size Tarte Lights. Camera, Lashes Mascara, a travel size double ended eye shadow brush and a card stock pull out palette that covers a mirror. In the lower well of the palette are twenty-four small eye shadows. All of the shade names are clearly stamped on the trim both on the main and smaller palette. Good job, Tarte! No having to keep track of stupid plastic slip covers or tossing them and never again knowing the names of my shadows.

Tarte Light of the Party Mini Mascara and Travel Brush Details notesfrommydressingtable.com

Just a close up of the snack sized mascara and double ended brush. I like the mascara formula, a lot. I have quite a bit of it, around and I'm always happy to get more of it. The brush... Well, you know what I think of double ended brushes. The quality of this one is serviceable. I don't know if it is worth giving a haircut.

Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case Pull Out Palette notesfrommydressingtable.com

The little gold and silver card stock palette pulls out and reveals a good sized mirror, big enough to do a full face, if you're flexible. The palette is sturdy and slender, easy to slip into a drawer or carry on.

Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case Pull Out Palette Details and Swatches notesfrommydressingtable.com

In the mini palette are a 0.20oz Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Social Butterfly and Blush in Amazed. (Full size are 0.2 oz.) A gorgeous, good sized face/eye highlighter in Pink Champagne and six eye shadows. I inserted swatches, in order from bronzer to last eye shadow.

The bronzer and blush both perform as you would expect Tarte Amazonian Clay bronzers and blushes to perform. The shades are wearable for many skin tones. The eye shadows in this portable palette are very good, the mates are soft and creamy, the shimmers velvety and all of them have the pigmentation and payoff on the eye one would expect from Tarte eye shadows. They apply, blend and build on the eye beautifully with little fallout. My brush does kick up come powder and flakiness when I pick up colour.

Pink Champagne is a lovely highlight! If you like a cooler, pink toned highlight, this one is for you. Versatile, it can be used on the eyes or the face, applied lightly or piled on, whatever makes your heart sing. This highlighter is luminous and shimmery but it isn't a glitterball.

Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case Twenty Four Eye Shadows notesfrommydressingtable.com

In the lower section is a rose gold section is twenty-four small neutral shadows in various textures and finishes ranging from matte to shimmer, metallic and a little glittery. Most of the shadows are nicely pigmented and give good payoff and perform well on the eyes. Some of the shadows are a little stiff and require a bit of work to build or blend, I experienced some fallout from some of the darker shades. If I am planning to do a darker, more intense eye look with any shadows, I do my eyes before I apply my foundation. I suggest that you take that precaution with these shadows if you are going to go full on smoky evening glam with this palette. I get a little fallout from a couple of the chunkier shimmers but it brushes away easily, so no biggie, there.

Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case Random Swatches of Eye Shadows notesfrommydressingtable.com

Here are some random swatches from the Lower Twenty-Four. I just dipped and dotted a representation of the selection of shades and tones available. As you can see, these shadows are pretty neutral fare. Pretty and wearable.

The pluses of the Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case are most definitely the glitzy, pretty, pretty packaging. That rose gold and sequin patterned top are eye catching and fun to have on my dressing table. The pull out palette is portable, easy to stash, the quality of the makeup contained within is top flight and not to be missed. I love having twenty-four shades at my brush's disposal when it is time to do my makeup. I mean, how decadent is that? All of the shades are wearable, blendable, pretty and appropriate for any occasion and should flatter just about every skin tone.

There are a few drawbacks: The inserts are very well affixed inside the soft case. Removing them would be a difficult task. I dislike how the lid insert looks now that the brush and mascara are removed. That is always a bummer of these sets; when you remove the pieces, you are stuck with weird shaped dead spaces that just look forlorn and get me to thinking about Z Palettes and depotting sessions.

The eye shadows in this palette, both in the pull out and the big insert are very small, about the size of a dime. To those accustomed to previous Tarte holiday palettes, this will be a bit of a shock. You get a pile of shadows but those shadows are very small. They are still large enough to comfortably fit a brush and really, how many of us use up these palettes? But still...

If you are someone who likes bright, jewel or fun colours, this makeup set is not for you. These shades and tones are neutral. Now, if you or the person for whom you are buying this lovely collection dig neutrals, this palette is definitely going to delight and inspire! The quality is good, the selection is extensive and the packaging is downright sparkle plenty. I am not sorry that I bought the Tarte Light of the Party Collectors Makeup Case. I am enjoying it. I suggest it for you neutral lovers and as gifts for the neutral lovers in your life.

Tarte is cruelty free, free of Parabens and Phthalates.

Did you pick up this makeup collection? Thinking about it, either for yourself or as a gift?

I just want to say, I am not the one who centered the text in this blog post. This is the dastardly doings of my blog host platform. What. The HELL????

My Glam Girl Beauty Picks for the Holiday Season

#StyleHunters4Ulta #UltaTrendAlert //This is a sponsored conversation. All opinions are my own.//

The holiday season is swiftly approaching and with it, parties, gatherings, family get-togethers and... Pictures. We all want to look our beautiful best, for all of these events, all season long. Happily, Ulta Beauty is there for us. Stocked with shelves full of get glam products in all price ranges, every beauty lover can find everything they need or crave and find beautiful gifts for family and friends, as well.

Today, I want to share with you some of my favorite get glam products you can buy from Ulta Beauty. I bought most of these, myself over time, a few were sent to me. All are, in my opinion worthy and will help every beauty feel like a glam girl this holiday season.

My Glam Girl Picks for the Holiday Season Face notesfrommydressingtable.com

I always begin my makeup application by applying a face primer. Even tho I have very dry skin, my foundation likes to disappear on me. I don't know where it goes... Does my skin eat it? One primer I really like because it locks down my foundation and doesn't dry my skin is NYX Angel Veil. It works and it's affordable.

I don't own a lot of foundations. I am very fussy about what I use and once I find something I like I stay pretty true to it. One of my few foundation products is the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+. This stuff is amazing. Lightweight, beautiful coverage, perfect wear, chemical free UVA and UVB sun screen. Yes, gentle reader. You need SPF in Winter, too.

IT Cosmetics Eye Lift in a Tube is your one-two punch against flaws, under eye darkness and the Winter blahs. One side is IT Cosmetic's famous Bye-Bye Under Eye Concealer and the other is a Luminizing Brightener that can be used under the eyes and also as a soft, shimmer free facial highlighter. So versatile!

If you have been staying up late wrapping presents, nursing a little one, partying a bit too hearty or, like me you are "blessed" with dark circles under your eyes, perhaps BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector is your golden ticket to a more wide awake and refreshed visage. I just bought this little pot of corrector, I'm just beginning to explore it, I have high hopes.

My Glam Girl Picks for the Holiday Season Cheeks and Highlighter notesfrommydressingtable.com

We can go walking in a Winter Wonderland and get a cold flushed glow on our cheeks or... We can reach for a beautiful plastic compact of pressed, pigmented powder and fake it, baby!

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Glow on the Go in Opal is a duo of perfect, portable strobing necessities in snack size. Pop these petite prettifiers in a bag with a small, soft brush and you are good to glow, wherever you are. I am contemplating buying a backup set while it is still available!

I own very few bronzers. At present I think I have in my collection... Maybe, three? One bronzer that I absolutely adore is the Too Faced Chocolate Soliel Matte Bronzer. Tho created for a deeper skin tone than my own fair complexion, I prefer it to lighter toned bronzers. Applied with a very soft brush and a deft hand, this bronzer gives me the most natural, sun kissed glow. I never look orange, muddy or dirty. Just warm and lightly tanned, as if I spent some time on a beach. Plus, it smells like sweet chocolate. How can you go wrong?

Too Faced Love Flush Blush . You guys. Can we talk? How stinking cute are these blushes? And they are just as gorgeous on the inside, pressed with flowers and bunnies. Flowers and bunnies! I had to buy two of these blushes just for the Squeeee! factor, alone. I am loving them, tho because they are really good blush!

If you are in the mood for a bot of a splurge, like I am sometimes in the mood for a bit of a splurge, you may consider a Blush Subtil Palette. I was tickled when Ulta Beauty started to offer Lancome. Now I can indulge without having to make a special trip all the way back over to the mall. I can get what I'm craving, while I'm at Ulta!

My Glam Girl Picks for the Holiday Season Affordable Single Eye Shadows notesfrommydressingtable.com

If you are a regular visitor to this blog you are probably somewhat aware that I am ever so slightly obsessed with eye shadow. Doesn't really matter what kind... Single. Palette. Creme. Powder. I. Love. Eye shadow. If it were in my budget... Yeah.

Affordable, long wearing shadows can be worn alone and in combination to create endless eye looks. Some of my best loved standbys are Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo creme eye shadows. I like these best as a base under powder shadows. They are also handy for applying a quick one shadow look; they go on smooth and easy, wear all day and aren't a pain in my ass to remove when I'm ready to hit the sack.

L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadows are a lovely hybrid loose/pressed tamped formula. Deeply pigmented, intensely silken smooth and long wearing these shadows are pure delight in tiny plastic pots.

My Glam Girl Picks for the Holiday Season Eye Shadow Palettes notesfrommydressingtable.com

Now, you know that I can't do a feature like this without a pile of palettes! Here are some of my current favorites:

The Urban Decay NAKED Smoky palette. I was a little rough on this baby when I first bought it, but I've warmed up to it and I truly like it muchly, now. This is a great palette. If you love smoky eyes, you need this palette in your life!

When I bought the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Collection it took me about 0.6 seconds for fall head over heels in love with it. It is neutral enough to delight, has some fun colour, smells delicious and is just about the epitome of perfection in a palette. If you don't yet own this one, what are you waiting for? An engraved invitation?

The Too Faced Star Dust by Vegas Nay palette is a winner all the way around and my love for this one is real. The colours, the quality. So beautifully thought out, this little palette is everything. Get it while you can!

Urban Decay Vice 4. Spectacular packaging. Gorgeous colours, a mix of neutrals and brights and fun shades that make my heart sing. Famous Urban Decay quality. This is the perfect indulgence for yourself or the perfect pressie for the cherished makeup lover in your life.

The LORAC Mega PRO Palette 2 is a wonderful mix of matte, shimmer, neutral, jewel and brights to delight any eye shadow lover's heart. It's making mine go pitter-pat!

I just have to mention the Lancome Color Design 5 Pan Eye Shadow Palette. Mine is French Nude, it is the perfect, ladylike neutral palette for everyday.

My Glam Girl Picks for the Holiday Season Mascara Liner Brows notesfrommydressingtable.com

Anastasia Brow Wiz is one of my go to reach for tools that help me to create my brows.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner is my all time favorite eye liner. Creamy, easy to apply, blend and once it sets, it doesn't budge, smear or transfer.

Cover Girl Intensify Me! Liquid Eye Liner. Honestly, I am not one for liquid liner. I'm not very good at it and I just don't have a deep, burning love for the stuff but I have to say, for liquid, this is a good one. I can actually apply this one pretty successfully. It wears well on my hooded lids and is non irritating. When I want a liquid line, this is the one I reach for.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara, Smudge proof, flake proof, perfect length, perfect volume, holds a curl... I could gush about this stuff all day but this isn't that kind of post.

IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Clinically Proven 5-in-1 Mascara is another favorite mascara. So easy, never gives me any trouble.

L'Oreal Butterfly Intenza Mascara is Butterfly by a factor of X. Just lovely!

My Glam Girl Picks for the Holiday Season Lippies notesfrommydressingtable.com

Kissable lips meet no resistance under the mistletoe. Here are a few of my favorite pout perfectors:

L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Colour. These silken liquid lipsticks are pigmented, supremely comfortable and lightly floral. I adore these lippies and own a handful in a selection of beautiful shades from pink to coral.

L'Oreal Collection Privee The Perfect Nudes, I own Doutzen's Nude. Dang! It's gorgeous!

Too Faced Meted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick. This is the craziest stuff! Simply gorgeous, long wearing, liquid from a squeezie tube. Nuts. But so perfect. I only own two, I would love to have all of them.

Available in a plethora of colours, sweetly scented, delightfully shiny and deliciously affordable, NYX Butter Gloss is perfect to toss in your bag and your daughter's stocking.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color and Color Sensational Rebel Bloom are wallet friendly and chic.

Maybelline Color Elixir Lip Color. Plush, comfortable, shiny, lovely scent. I dig these.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick - Kate Moss Collection and Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner. I love, love, love these lip liners. I never liked the stuff until I got old enough that my lipstick and gloss started crawling up those little lines radiating out from my lips and all over my face. Now, I use lip liner and my lippies stay put.

Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream . All hail gold metal tubes, gorgeous colours and the most emollient, comfortable lippie on God's green Earth. If I had to choose only one lipstick brand to wear for the rest of my life, La Creme would be near the top of a very short short list.

Lancome Lip Lover. This luxe little gloss stole my heart the first time I applied it and I love it, still. It is so perfect, from the colour to the shine, the weightless, silky feel and that adorable, push button cap release. Perfection.

My Glam Girl Picks for the Holiday Season Nail Polishes notesfrommydressingtable.com

We can't talk getting pretty without talking nails. Polish is important. I love nail polish. I love it a lot. Featured here are a few of my picks for perfect tips this Season.

From the OPI Starlight Nail Lacquer Collection  Cosmo With a Twist, Give Me Space and Center of the You-Niverse. OPI Venice Collection brings us Gelato On My Mind and Purple Palazzo Pants. Because sometimes, soft, creamy colours in Winter just make sense. At least, they do to me!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps is a classic Christmas red glitter polish that everyone needs in their nail polish arsenal. Ruby Pumps was my first ever China Glaze polish and it remains my all time fave.

butter London Patent Shine 10X Lacquer in Her Majesty's Red is the perfect for just about everyone, perfect for just about every occasion red. Get you a bottle. You'll need it.

So, how many of these get glam items are on your Ulta Beauty shopping list? What are your favorites? Please do tell.

Oz Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum

//sent for consideration//affiliate//

OZ Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum notesfrommydressingtable.com

Retinol. My skin can't seem to get enough. It wants all of the Retinol, all of the time. One way in which it receives it's Retinol fix is via a serum by OZ Naturals. This 2.5% Retinol Serum contains a clinical strength dose of Retinol plus Astaxanthin, Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid.

OZ Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum notesfrommydressingtable.com

The one ounce bottle is a deep amber colour and there is a pump delivery system to help guard against contamination and infiltration by air and light.

OZ Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum Swatch notesfrommydressingtable.com

This pale pink gel serum delivers a powerful dose of Retinol to the skin, yet it is buffered with Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid and it is gentle enough that I can use it close to my eyes (using care to keep it from getting in my eyes!) and down my neck and on my decolletage with no irritation or discomfort. Sometimes, my skin will pink a little bit but it calms down immediately but normally, it doesn't react, at all.

I use Retinol on a regular basis, long term and I am enjoying the benefits. At fifty-one, my skin is more even toned now that it has ever been in my adult life. My complexion has a nice, healthy glow and over time, with persistent use, Retinol has helped to fade the old signs of my past battles with adult acne. Is my skin "flawless?" No. But I believe that it looks the best it has, in my adult life and I can credit uncompromising attention to my skin care routine and high quality products, among them this beautiful, affordable and effective Oz Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum.

OZ Naturals 2.5% Retinol Serum is cruelty free, made in the U.S. is 72% organic, is free of alcohol, parabens and sulfates and is safe for (they claim) all skin types. This serum is gentle, but if you are very sensitive I would suggest that you test before you use this serum, then start slow and build up.

Have you tried this serum? Are you thinking about starting a Retinol regime if you haven't yet begun using this wonderful ingredient?

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stains Review notesfrommydressingtable.com

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain is a quick and easy way way to add a sheer wash of  sweet, hydrating colour to lips and cheeks. This gentle stain is formulated to adjust to your chemistry to flatter your unique skin tone. Rich in Avocado Butter, Wild Rose Wax and Olive Butter, this stain is softening and pampering.

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stains Swatches notesfrommydressingtable.com

I have Forever Pink, a light, peony pink and Forever Peach, a warm, juicy orange-y peach. These sticks work best for me as lip balms, the tint is sheer, there is a light, fresh, sweetly fruity fragrance and slightly sweet taste. On the lips, a soft, glossy finish makes my lips look and feel pillowy and hydrated. If they start to feel a little dry,  quick rub together renews the moisturized feel and shine. It's kind of amazing. Personally, I don't much care for these on my cheeks but my picky, overly sensitive lips approve of the ingredients, finish, comfort and wear.

Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain is cruelty free and free of chemical sunscreens, sulfates and parabens but it is not vegan.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured | My Ambivalent Notes

Ambivalence about a makeup product. I feelz it.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured notesfrommydressingtable.com

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Moonstone is a recent impulse purchase that went a little sideways for me. Please don't misunderstand me, it's not the product it's self that I regret, I think I chose the wrong shade. I had Opal and Moonstone confused in my foggy little brain when I placed my order and, well, #oldfartstruggles.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Moonstone notesfrommydressingtable.com

Packaged in a positively adorable petite sized version of the iconic BECCA brushed metal and rubberized plastic compact, this creme formula highlighter adds luminosity and light to the features and a soft, youthful glow to the skin. So far, so good. But, this is aggressively golden and while it's pretty in swatches, I'm hesitating to put it on my face. Which is weird. I am not usually one to shy away from splashing anything shimmery all the fuck over myself.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured Moonstone Swatch notesfrommydressingtable.com

Check out this swatch... A fairly hefty swipe and one blended out. It's not scary, really. I think I could pull it of... I wear NARS Orgasm successfully and it has hella golden shimmer, especially in the sun. I mean, seriously, have you ever put that blush on, then gone out in the sun and looked in the mirror? Yeah. So why am I suddenly demurring? Maybe because it's creme, rather than powder? I practically faceplant in my Becca X Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Champagne Pop and that puppy is hardly retiring!

I'm a puzzle.

Do you own BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured? How do you feel about it? Do you use it, regularly or does it languish? So far, mine is basically a photo prop. *sigh*

Tarte Bling it On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette for Holiday 2015

Tarte Bling it On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette notesfrommydressingtable.com

Happy November and who's ready for the upcoming holidays? Who's freaking out because this year has flown by so fast and they seriously don't know where the time went? *raises hand*

Today I have, to share with you a lovely bit of holiday magic for your cheeks. Last year, I was lucky enough to score the Tarte Sweet Dreams Pin Up Girl Blush Palette before it sold out. I love just about everything about that palette so I knew that as soon this year's version landed, I had to have it. The Tarte Bling it On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette is limited edition just for Holiday, 2015. Five flattering, full sized Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes are set in a chic, sturdy paperboard palette trimmed in rose gold, black glitter and a signature gold logo plaque. There is the expected mirror in the lid and, in a very welcome change the shade names are printed on the frame below each blush so that one doesn't have to worry about keeping track of that stupid plastic slip cover. Well done! I appreciate how sleek and compact this particular palette is however, I am not terribly fond of those glitter bits shedding off here and there. The shedding would make me disinclined to pop this palette into a bag and take it along.

Observe, closer up the loveliness that is the five shades in the Bling it On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette. Four of the shades are matte, one, Beaming is softly shimmery. There is one shade that is a repeat of last year's Chic to Cheek set; Prim. Must have been super popular!

Here are the shades and swatches. The swatches are on lightly moisturized skin and are in the same order as they live in the palette.

Okay, These blushes are lovely. Soft, smooth, pigmented, they apply and blend like a dream and wear like iron all day long. I bought my Tarte Bling it On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette from Sephora. Tarte is cruelty free, this palette is free of Parabens and Phthalates.

Have you picked this pretty thing up, yet? Planning to do so? What shades are you most excited about?

Too Faced Love Palette | My Notes

Too Faced Love Palette notesfrommydressingtable.com

Talk about late to the party! Many long moons after the release of the Too Faced Love Palette, I finally bought one, took many, many photographs of it, including my usual stellar swatches and then dug in and started to enjoy it. What I failed to realize, until just very recently is that I didn't do anything with those photographs and I didn't write up my post about this palette. A bunch of unedited photos have been taking up space on my hard drive and eating their heads off for lack of exercise. Time to put them to work! So, here it is, my review of the Too Faced Love Palette

Encased in a hard shell plastic case with a secure closure, the top is decorated with a love letter, ribbons and hearts, the Too Faced logo and a "wax seal" as well as the iconic air mail red slashes all the way around the edges and a cancelled stamp all on a crisp white ground. There is a clear plastic overlay and the packaging is all trimmed in black with a vintage feel embossed decoration. I dare say, more than a tiny reason why I bought this palette is because it's so pretty!

Too Faced Love Palette What's Inside notesfrommydressingtable.com

Open the lid and set in the black plastic is a good sized mirror that is plenty big enough to do your eyes or lips, tho I wouldn't want to use it for full face. The plastic surrounding the mirror is embossed with the Too Faced logo, curliques and folderols. It's just too adorable. Tucked into a slim slot behind the mirror are look cards, three that correspond, one each to a shadow quint. How clever.

Set in polished gold and black are three shadow quints, for a total of fifteen eye shadows, each named for a kind of burning love. The center of each quint has a beautiful heart shaped accent shadow pressed with the Too Faced logo and the top and bottom shades are embossed with tiny raised hearts. Have I mentioned that this palette is pretty? The shadow formula is a slurry powder technology that transforms a liquid powder blend into soft, velvety pigments that offer beautiful performance.

Too Faced Love Palette Perfect Eyes Waterproof Liner notesfrommydressingtable.com

Included with the palette is a Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Black. It's a nice liner with a rubbery smudger on the other end, my only gripe with it is my only gripe with all liners of it's ilk... I have to sharpen it. It's 2015. We have the technology, we can build pencils that don't have to be sharpened. Why? Oh, why are cosmetics companies still trolling us with these old school pencils?

Too Faced Love Palette Liner Swatch notesfrommydressingtable.com

A little swatchiepoo of the liner. Nice, huh?

Too Faced Love Palette Swatches Pure Love notesfrommydressingtable.com

The first quint is Pure Love: Warm, soft, golden, grounded.

Too Faced Love Palette Swatches True Love notesfrommydressingtable.com

The next quint is True Love: Sweet, effervescent, delicate and passionate.

Too Faced Love Palette Swatches Forbidden Love notesfrommydressingtable.com

Finally we have Forbidden Love: Cool, slightly dark, a bit... Jaded.

All of these shadows have very good pigmentation and perform well on the eyes. XOXO is a near match to my skin tone, hence why it isn't showing up well. All of these shadows can kick up a little powder or be a little bit flaky when you go in with a brush, just tap off before you go to your eye and you're cooking with gas. The shadows apply very nicely, build and blend out smoothly and easily, for the most part. Obsessed and Amorous need a little cozening but they are workable with patience. What fallout I experience for the most part easily flicks away with a soft brush or a Q-Tip. I apply over primer and I enjoy all day, fade resistant wear. I like this palette and I'm happy that I bought it. If you would like to know if I recommend it, yes, I do and with the holidays coming up, this palette would make a lovely gift for a friend, sweetheart, any makeup lover really. Or yourself. You work hard. You deserve a little love letter to you. You can buy it from Sephora, it is $49.00.

The Too Faced Love Palette is cruelty free, has no phthalates, sulfates and is gluten free, as well.

Do you own this pretty palette? How do you like it? Do you think that you might like to pick it up, either for yourself or as a gift?
