Dry and Confident with Dove Dry Spray

//complimentary products sent for consideration//

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant for Women and Men

No matter what time of year it is, we need effective wetness and odor protection to keep us feeling fresh and confident. I recently received the opportunity, through Influenster to receive and try the Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant Cool Esentials for women and the Dove Men+Care Dry Spray Antiperspirant.

I was skeptical about these sprays being effective. I tried a Dove antiperspirant years ago and was far from impressed. It seems that Dove has, since then stepped up their game because these Dry Sprays are very good!

The lightweight spray applies evenly, dries down almost instantly and leaves me and my husband dry and fresh all day. My husband is crazy about the men's formula and that is a huge endorsement! That man is extremely hide-bound in what grooming products he uses and he never likes or uses anything new.

If you are interested in trying the Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirants for women or men, you can find them at Walgreen's online and in your favorite nearby location.

NARS Steven Klein Collaboration One Shocking Moment Face Palette

NARS Steven Klein Collaboration One Shocking Moment Face Palette

The NARS Steven Klein Collaboration One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette for Holiday, 2015 is a thing of beauty. After falling in love with last year's Virtual Domination Cheek Palette I knew that I had to have this one.

NARS One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette Packaging Detail

My NARS One Shocking Moment (I am not typing out that insanely long name, every time) palette is packaged in the same style as last year. A Sharp, clean lined, hard plastic palette with a clear overlay protecting the cover art. This year's theme is sexy, a little dark and dangerous.

NARS One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette Close Up
Inside the lid is the customary full sized mirror. This mirror is large enough to use to do a full face, if you have taken this palette on the run. In the well below are the cheek powders: Four blushes, a contour and highlight and a very large Laguna Bronzer.

NARS Steven Klein Collaboration One Shocking Moment Face Palette Blushes and Powders

The four blushes are 0.12 oz. each, coming in considerably smaller than last year's blushes which were 0.16 oz. each. They are still large enough to comfortably take a blush brush but I am a bit disappointed that they are smaller. The contour and highlight powders also weigh in at 0.12 oz. Laguna Bronzer is a hefty 0.29 oz. but is smaller than last year's 0.35 oz. A full sized Laguna Bronzer comes in at 0.28 oz. Thanks to this palette, I now have enough Laguna to last me a good, long time!

NARS One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette swatches

Swatches of the goods:

  • Paloma is the contour/highlight portion of the program. The contour powder is too tan to work for me as a contour but it serves as a subtle face warming bronzer. The highlighter is a soft, brightening touch. Both powders are matte.
  • Laguna is NARS' iconic bronzer. A gorgeous sun kissed, well balanced tan/bronze with a nice hit of soft, golden radiance. This bronzer works so well for my fair skin.
  • Robotic is a matte candy pink.
  • Blasphemy is a deeper, rosy pink with some glimmer.
  • Luster is a warm, apricot shimmer.
  • Dulce Vita is an intense rosy red that that gives your cheeks a beautiful, been walking outside in the cold flush.
I love NARS blush formula and these perform as beautifully as their full size counterparts. There is no skimping on quality just because the pans are a special size and this is a limited edition Holiday offering. This palette is pure quality, lid to the last grain of pigmented, blendable, beautiful powder.

Beauty Blogger Math determines that just as last year, the NARS Steven Klein Collaboration One Shocking Moment Cheek Palette, $69.00 is good value for the asking price. You get a lot of product for about the price of two blushes. If you love NARS and are craving more beautiful, you need this palette. Hell, if you love great packaging and hoarding collecting all of the things, you need this palette. Did you pick it up, yet? If not, are you planning to?

StriVectin for a Firmer More Youthful Looking Neck

//sent for consideration//affiliate//
StriVectin TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream Review

Wattle. Turkey neck. Crepey. Saggy. Just a few of the lovely descriptors I hear about the neck region of  maturing beauties. Not very flattering, not very nice. It's a fact of life; as we get older our skin looses elasticity, collagen and it becomes loose. Gravity takes over and well... So what's a beauty supposed to do? Short of cosmetic surgery, there is only so much we can do. Topical treatments, applied regularly can help stave off the ravages of time. StriVectin - TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream is one such topical treatment. Containing deeply hydrating and skin toning ingredients, this rich cream, used consistently, can moisturize and plump the skin, making it look and feel smoother and their NA-114 and Gravtite CF Lifting Complex can tighten and temporarily refine contour.

What They Say:
StriVectin-TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream gives you a more tightened, lifted and firmed appearance than ever before. It features a breakthrough Gravitite-CF Lifting Complex™ that contains a powerful blend of technologically advanced ingredients to improve skin elasticity, providing the appearance of visible lift. Over time, the visible effects of gravity appear reversed for even more refined and toned definition of the neckline, profile and d├ęcolletage. It also contains patented NIA-114™ technology designed specifically for the neck and profile, allowing skin to be visibly tighter, smoother and more supple immediately and over time. Your neck and jawline are left optimally hydrated and appear sculpted for a more youthful-looking silhouette.

Aqua (Water, Eau), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Myristyl Nicotinate, Butylene Glycol, Isononyl Isononanoate, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate, Dimethicone, Ethylene/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Pentylene Glycol, Steareth-2, Polyacrylamide, Behenyl Alcohol, Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate, Acetyl Dipeptide-1 Cetyl Ester, Algae Extract, Ceramide 2, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Tetrapeptide-21, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Caprylyl Glycol, Panthenol, Sorghum Bicolor Stalk Juice, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Bisabolol, Sorbitan Laurate, Pullulan, Laureth-7, Cyathea Cumingii Leaf Extract, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Parfum (Fragrance), Xanthan Gum, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, BHT, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic Acid, Sorbic Acid, Chlorphenesin, Benzyl Alcohol, Limonene.

StriVectin Tightening Neck Cream

Packaged in a large, double walled plastic jar is a thick, white cream. I have to really press into it to pick it up on my fingers. I have found that a little goes a long way and the most effective method of application is to get a little of the cream on my fingers, warm it up and soften it then smooth it into the skin of my neck, throat and jawline, using firm but gentle upward pressure. I then pick up a little more and repeat on my decolletage.

Thick, Rich StriVectin Advanced Tightening Neck Cream

While very thick, almost stiff, this cream warms up and spreads readily across the skin and sinks in quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and not at all greasy, slick or sticky. My neck, throat and decolletage look and feel hydrated, smoother and I do believe that the tightening properties, with consistent use are helping my neck and company look better. I'm not so sure of my jawline but hey, at my age, I'll take what I can get!

I would suggest that if you have sensitive skin or have never tried StriVectin that you start slow with this cream. While I don't have sensitive skin and haven't experienced reactions to any Stri Vectin skin care product, the NA-114 pinks up my skin a bit upon application but it calms and returns to my normal tone, quickly.

Have you tried this neck cream or any other Stri Vectin skin care product? What are your thoughts, experiences? If you are interested, you can buy StriVectin-TL Advanced Tightening Neck Cream from NordstromLord & Taylor and the StriVectin Website.

While shopping for this and other beautiful StriVectin products, don't forget to use Ebates. Just one click and you get paid back for shopping!

Snacking on NARS

Every year Sephora puts together adorable little birthday gifts for their Beauty Insiders. It is usually a couple of "deluxe" items from one well known makeup brand. In the past couple of years, I received little goodies from Benefit and Make Up Forever. This year, it was NARS. Please read on to see what was in my little Birthday Box, some swatches and what I think.

NARS Lip Pencil Sephora Birthday Gift

As I said, before the birthday gift this year was from NARS. I am still just over one hundred dollars shy of qualifying as a Rouge. I am a mere VIB and I received the birthday gift with two lip pencils. These snack sized versions of their full sized Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and Satin Lip Pencil was my first introduction to their lip pencil products.

Nars Velvet Matte and Satin Lip Pencils

I will begin with the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. A gorgeous, beautifully balanced, would look good on just about everyone, true red. While the colour isn't really all that unique; everyone needs a great red lippie and this portable, easy to use and wear pencil is worthy.

The silky, lightweight Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien is a delicate, smack it on, easy to love rose pink. Again, not necessarily new or all that different but very welcome in my collection!

NARS Satin and Velvet Matte Lip Pencils Rikugien Cruella Swatches

Take a look at swatches of both lippies.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Cruella Lip Swatch
NARS Satin Lip Pencil Rikugien Lip Swatch

And here they are, on. Cruella. Gorgeous! This pencil goes on satin-matte and will, over time dry down a bit to look and feel a bit more matte but it doesn't really go flat. There is just enough moisture in this formula that I can wear this colour, now and then. I find that my lips are more comfortable if I balm up and blot, before application.

Rikugien. No surprise, I love this shade and the moisturizing, lip loving formula! The delicate rose pink is a perfect, everyday neutral and is easy enough to splash on, even without a mirror.

I am happy with these little lippies. Both have great formulas and the colours that were selected are almost universally flattering. My only tiny gripe is that these are wood pencils that must be sharpened. It is a pain in the ass to get it precise and an unnecessary waste of beautiful, spendy product. Come on, NARS! Crawl out of the cave and smell the progress. There is twist up packaging, now. Wood aside, I'll be replacing these in full sizes when the little ones are done. I think that I need some other shades, as well... I see some gorgeous, bold pinks in the lineup.

If you are curious about these beautiful lip pencils, you can find the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil and the Satin Lip Pencil in fourteen beautiful shades and tones. Both retail for $26.00 each.

Do you own any of these lip pencils? What do you think of them? What are your favorite shades? Spill!

A Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick Makes a Perfect Little Gift

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick 218 Clara

Are you looking for a perfect little last minute something to slip into a stocking, pop into a larger gift bag or box or perhaps... Into your own handbag? May I suggest a luxe lippie? A Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick is a lovely, thoughtful and very special little indulgence for someone special or a gorgeous treat for yourself.

The packaging is pure, elegant simplicity in sharp black and white. The tube is large, shaped in a rounded off rectangle embellished with a silver round and the designer's logo in crisp, clean white. This lipstick feels very weighty and luxurious in the hand. The double walled cap is magnetized and snaps precisely back into place. Show of hands: Who else is ridiculously amused by magnetic lipstick caps?

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick Details

Roll the lipstick up with a smooth glide and you see a clean, precisely finished bullet. The tip is oval shaped and the overall look is soft and rounded. I don't discern any real fragrance or taste from this lipstick.

Marc Jacobs Lip Creme Lipstick

The shade I chose is 218 Clara, a bold rose. I know... You're sitting there, shocked out of your mind that I bought a pink lipstick. Who would think it?

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick 218 Clara swatch

Look at this swatch! Dahling, this is a gorgeous colour. A clean, blue based bright rose pink. I don't care if it is Winter, this lip colour is giving me life.

Marc Jacobs Lip Creme Lipstick 218 Clara Lip Swatch

The formula on the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick is lovely. Creamy smooth, this lipstick slips on so easily with no dragging, tugging or skipping. Pigmentation is excellent and this bright shade easily copes with my natural lip colour. The finish is even and slightly glossy, the feel is lightweight for such a creamy, full coverage formula. This lipstick makes my lips look pillowy and luscious. Wear time is excellent; I get several hours of flawless wear before I need a touch up. Comfort is pretty good. My sensitive lips appreciate a bit of balm, pre application and before a touch up, midday. If your lips aren't the special snowflakes mine are, you should really love the lush comfort this lip creme provides.

I am so happy that I bought a Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick and now that I have experienced this beautiful formula, I have several more shades on my wishlist. What about you? Do you like this lipstick? What are your favorite shades?

Pretty Cheeks for Holiday and Beyond with Tarte

Tarte at First Blush Holiday Amazonian Clay Blush Set

Four snack sized wearable, flattering, adorably packaged blushes are what you will find in the Tarte at First Blush Deluxe Amazonian Clay Blush Set. Tarte does holiday themes so beautifully and this year is no exception! All four of these little face flushers are tucked into compacts that colour coordinate with their contents and two are decorated with a metallic chevron pattern that ties in with this year's holiday theme.

Tarte at First Blush Amazonian Clay Blush Set for Holiday

Tarte doesn't skimp on the quality of the makeup they put in their holiday collections. The smaller Amazonian Clay Blushes are just as pigmented and pretty; apply, blend and wear just as beautifully as their full sized counterparts. I'm not worried about these blushes being petite... I own so much blush that the chances of my using these up are pretty slim. #makeuphoarder #noshame

I like to sweep these blushes on with the IT Cosmetics Live Beauty Fully Flawless Blush Brush. No BS, this has become one of my favorite blush brushes of life. It is amazingly soft, applies powder and creme blush like a dream and cleans up in a snap.

Tarte at First Blush Holiday Blush Set Swatches

Here are my typical stellar swatches. *sarcasm*

  • Ecstatic: A matte dusty melon.
  • Entertain: Softly shimmery rose-pink.
  • Embellish: Plummy-rose shimmer.
  • Epic: Poppy pink matte.
Tarte at First Blush Deluxe Amazonian Clay Blush Set is still available at Ulta. This set would make a perfect gift; they can be split up as stocking stuffers or... You can do as I did and keep them all for yourself. I'd hurry, tho if you really want it. This darling limited edition set won't last forever.

When I shop online, I use Ebates for extra savings! If you haven't signed up for Ebates, the concept is simple. One click and you get paid to shop. It's easy, free and you receive a special gift for signing up. Many online retailers partner with Ebates and their Chrome extension makes remembering to take advantage of their offers effortless. I land on a shopping site, the banner comes up, reminding me to get my cash back, one click and then I'm off and shopping. Easy-peasy. How great is that?

Are you a fan of Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes? Are you as big a sucker for their holiday sets and palettes as I am? Confess in a comment. I promise I won't tell.

Warm Holiday Metallic Eye Look for Hooded Eyes

#StyleHunters4Ulta #UltaTrendAlert //sponsored//sent for consideration//self purchase//affiliate//

The holidays are in full swing and we are all attending parties, special events, family gatherings and we want to present our prettiest and trendiest makeup looks to the world. One makeup trend that surges this time of year is metallic eye looks. They brighten our faces, attract admiring glances and photograph beautifully. Shiny, metallic shadows are perfect day or evening, for just about any situation and every age. Wait! What?? No. "They" say that anyone of a certain age isn't supposed to wear metallic eye shadow! It makes you look older and you are required to wear retiring matte shades, only. Yeah. Right. You know what I say about that. (If you know me well, you know that it's acerbic and rather profane.) Not only can more mature beauties wear shine, we should! Some shimmer and shine is brightening and youthful.

My warm holiday metallic eye look is paired with fresh, flushed cheeks, softly strobed skin and a classic nude lip. All of the products I used for this makeup look, with the exception of my setting powder are available at Ulta Beauty. Read on to see what I used and how I applied it all.

Full Face Makeup Look

It all starts with skin and for this look I began by applying NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer to lock down my makeup and make it last for hours and hours. I chose to apply a light layer of IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ to even out my skin tone. My shade is Fair.

To help with my insane dark circles I used a combo of IT Cosmetics Eye Lift in a Tube in Light and BECCA Under Eye Brightening Corrector. While this combo looks pretty good in person, my circles were in charge in my photos and I had to correct a little under my eyes. But not as much as I usually do! I'm getting closer to my goal of a corrected, brightened under eye.

The Pur Cosmetics Cameo Dual Ended Contour Stick in Light: I have a full review of this product, coming soon, if you are curious about it. I used the deeper contour end to lightly shape and the light end on the high planes of my face and blended it all in with the dampened sponge.

Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush in Candy Glow gives me a lovely, natural pink cheek and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal adds that perfect, strobed glow.

Product Pile

I started my eye look by creating my brows with a little primer and Anastasia Brow Wiz in Taupe.

Metallic Eyes With Too Faced Stardust Palette

For my warm, metallic eye shadow look I tapped my Too Faced Stardust by Vegas Nay palette. After a little Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eye Primer to ensure a long lasting, smooth application I got my warm, metallic eye look going. I started with Golden Nugget on my lid with a flat shader then using a blending brush, I picked up Showgirl and ran it into my crease, blending up onto my orbital bone a bit then deepened my outer V. I used the tip of my shader to run a little more Showgirl under my eyes, stopping short of my inner corner then pulled it up and blended it into my outer corner. I grabbed a clean blender and fluffed Chandelier on my brow bone and #selfie in my tear duct area and blended into my inner corner and a little into the inner third of my crease, to further brighten my overall eye area. I picked up a little extra Golden Nugget on my finger and patted it into the center of my movable lid to up the shine factor a bit.

I took a moment to curl my lashes, then I tightlined with L'Oreal Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Espresso. My upper lash line got a thick, smudged line of Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Oscar Fish, a bronze-y brown with gold sparkle. (Not available on the Ulta Beauty site, any longer. Any bronze-y gold liner will work.) My mascara is one very generous coat of the fabulous Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara.

Nude Lips

My lips are wearing Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Cream in Nude Beach. A perfect and so flattering nude. This shade has just enough pink in it to prevent the dreaded corpse/concealer lips look that is just not pretty.

What makeup trends are you embracing this Holiday Season? Metallic eyes? Doll like lashes? Snow kissed skin/hair? Embracing any or all of these beautiful trends is easy and attainable at Ulta Beauty. Please share your favorite holiday makeup trend in a comment!

Planner Girl: Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner Overview

The New Year is fast approaching and resolutions to be better organized and productive will be high on many of our lists. One way in which I stay organized and on top of everything I need to remember and get done is to utilize a planner. Planners are just about the hottest thing going. Everyone is loving, using, collecting and socializing around planners. Businesses and cottage industries have sprung up and are thriving on the planner love.

The planner I use and depend on is the Me and My Big Ideas Create 365 Happy Planner, (price reduced) $20.57. This 18 month planner, in it's new form runs from July, 2015 to December, 2016. Now, obviously it is well past July but this planner will still be useful for all of 2016. An entire year. And, if you are wondering what the hell you're going to do with the dividers and pages you won't be needing, fear not, gentle reader. I will be sharing what I did with them, in my next planner post.

There are so many planners on the market, from a high priced, tricked out cult favorite to bargain and even print your own options. Anyone who wants to dive into the planner obsession; yes, it becomes a bit of an obsession! can find the perfect planner (s) to meet their own needs. For my desk/keep all of my balls in the air and my life on the rails, I chose the Happy Planner after researching and reading reviews and watching hours of YouTube planner videos. I came very close to buying an Erin Condren Life Planner but the only design I was interested in was forever sold out so I moved on. One thing that attracted me to the Happy Planner is it's similarities to some of the features I liked in the Life Planner with the added advantages of being more customizable and far more affordable.

Would you like a tour of the features of the Happy Planner

Happy Planner Review New Planner

I chose the Gold Foil Dots design. Big shock, I know. My slight obsession with gold dots may have had something to do with my choice. I also liked the Kate Spade-esque look and feel of this planner. So much about the aesthetics appealed to me. The Happy Planner measures 9.8 x 8.5 x 1.4" and weighs a little over a pound.

Beauty Charms from Soufeel

As you probably know, I am a huge fan of Soufeel and their silver charm bracelets and charms. I have received some pieces from the company to share with my gentle readers and I have purchased some, myself. Today, I'm sharing a couple of adorable charms that I think any beauty fanatic would love and would want to add to their own bracelet.

Soufeel packages your jewelry beautifully. Even a single charm comes with a beautiful ribbon and bow embellished presentation box, a matching gift bag, velvet storage bag and polishing cloth. Every time you receive a piece from Soufeel or give it as a gift the experience is a special event.

Best of BITE Matte Creme Lip Crayon Collection

BITE Beauty Best BITE Rewind is this year's BITE Beauty Holiday Lip Collection. When I saw early swatches of this collection, I was determined to pass on it because the shades seemed too brown leaning. I'm so happy that I changed my mind and bought it in spite of my reservations. The Best BITE Rewind is not brown (a shade I don't normally wear on my lips), just neutral.

Mascara Masquerade

//sent for consideration//self purchase//affiliate//

I thought it might be fun to do a retrospective of some of the mascaras that I have experienced in the last little while. I've had some of these lying around in a little bag for some time. Others, I finished fairly recently. Some I really enjoyed, some... Not so much. I thought that I had saved all of the tubes, used, awful or foul but I guess that I was so disgusted with some of them or forgot to save them and I heaved them, rather then putting them in the used bag. Shame... I don't think proactively, sometimes.

I don't believe in the "Three Month Rule." I keep an opened mascara going until it runs out, dries out or I feel it's starting to go off. I have always wondered how "they" arrived at the Ninety Day Cutoff Rule of Doom. One day, my mascara is perfectly good, the next, it is twelve weeks old and "OMG!!!!! It's going to make my eyeballs fall out!!!!!" I have never had an issue with keeping mascaras going past the magical limit. I have never had an eye infection and I think that "rule" is just a way to get us to toss perfectly good mascara and go buy more, more, more. I don't know about you but I don't need a stupid rule to get me to buy more mascara...

Anyway, let's get on with it. I hope that you have a beverage and are comfy... This is going to take a little while.

Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder | Moodlight

Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder in Moodlight

Once in a while, one must have a mad splurge and spend way too much on one makeup item. In my case it is the limited edition Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo in Moodlight. I was seeing it on blogs that I like to read and drooling over it and I finally decided to blow a small Nordstrom gift card and buy it. I see that it's back in stock on the Nordstrom site, for now, so if you wanted it, grab it!

Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder in Moodlight Details

This dual shade powder lives in a sleek brown and gold compact with a magnetized, flip up lid that contains a good sized mirror. The packaging is weighty and feels luxe in the hand. The surface is glossy, highly reflective and hoards fingerprints. I am kept busy polishing it up! Open the lid and the powders are presented in a divided pan. The top powder is an ivory highlighter and on the bottom is a soft, slightly peachy bronze shade.

The compact came in a dark brown, diamond pattern embossed outer box and nested in a brown, velvety slip case. I need to say this; for the price I paid for this powder, I was disappointed in the the slip case. It is of dodgy fabric quality and construction. While I didn't expect couture, I did have an expectation that it would be better than it is. Call me picky or overly demanding but when you attach luxury designer cache` to an item, every detail should be impeccable.

Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder in Moodlight Close Up on Design

Crisply embossed in the surface of the beveled powder cakes is a fine diamond pattern that mimics the design on the outer box and the Tom Ford logo. This powder is gorgeous to look at and I didn't want to touch it, for a while. I just kept it in it's box, brought it out to look at and put it away for a while, again. Sometimes I do that, before I finally decide to use a makeup item.

Touch the surface and it is not, as I expected it to be- soft and velvety, it is hard, almost glassy. Don't let the texture fool you, tho. The powder picked up with fingers or brush is exquisitely finely milled, it feels like a zephyr, it is so silky and smooth. In direct light, I can appreciate tiny sparks of multicoloured light when I look at it in bright light but when applied to the skin, this powder isn't glittery or overtly sparkly. The finish is a luminous, lit from heaven radiant. I can apply as much of this highlighter as I please to my fair skin and it never looks or feels like too much. It doesn't accentuate fine lines or pores, it is never chalky or powdery, it just adds that coveted, youthful glow to my complexion.

Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder in Moodlight Swatches

My customary bad swatches. These are heavy swipe swatches. I shot many, many pictures of this blended out but they didn't show this to it's glory. Time to further evolve my lighting! Anyway, the top, deeper shade swatched is a soft, peachy-bronze with hints of gold and silvery shift. It's exquisite! A bit dark for my face, right now but it is pretty on my eyes. I think that this shade is going to be gorgeous in the Summer with a sunless tan and a bit of bronzer. The bottom swatch is the ivory with a soft, golden undertone highlighter.

Overall, the Tom Ford Skin Illuminating Powder Duo in Moodlight is absolutely beautiful and I am enjoying it. My biggest complaint about this lovely thing is that having experienced it, I am craving more Tom Ford beauty. I have eye quads, a couple of blushes, a handful of lipsticks and a fragrance on my wishlist, right now.

Did you pick up this gorgeous powder? What do you think of it?

FOREO ISSA Redux Hybrid Brush Head Review

I don't know if you remember my review of the FOREO ISSA Oral Care Device. I had a very mixed reaction to this device when it was first sent to me. I loved the sleek. modern design, the smooth, hygienic silicone coating, the easy and waterproof controls and of course, the fact that thousands of sonic pulse waves were dedicated to getting my teeth and mouth clean as I brushed. I am impressed with how fast this device charges and how insanely LONG this device holds a charge! I wasn't so happy with the brush head that came with the device. The very soft silicone bristles gave my gums a lovely, gentle yet invigorating massage but they didn't get my teeth clean. And that is a problem.

Happily, FOREO listened to those of us who loved the device it's self but felt that the brush head wasn't as effective as it should be. They designed a new Hybrid Brush Head. Comprised of traditional nylon brush bristles surrounded by FOREO'S soft, silicone massaging finger bristles, the new Hybrid Brush Head is just what I was craving!

The traditional brush bristles work in concert with the ISSA'S sonic waves to get my teeth sparkling clean and the soft silicone "finger" bristles provide that lovely massaging action for my gums. It's the best of both worlds!

FOREO ISSA Redux Best of Both Worlds Oral Care

If you have a FOREO ISSA eating it's head off for lack of exercise because you, like me weren't all that thrilled with the lack of cleaning power from the original brush, twenty dollars will get you a Hybrid Brush Head available in four colours so that you can match or mix it up with your base device. The Hybrid Brush is also available in a smaller, Mini Size that is great for the kiddos or adults with a smaller mouth/jaw. FOREO recommends that the new Hybrid Brush Head be replaced every six months.

If the FOREO ISSA sounds like an oral care device you might be interested in they are available from Sephora, this is a bundle that includes the traditional and Hybrid brushes as well as Kaplan Lip Care goodies. You can also buy the replacement brushes from Sephora and of course the oral care device and all replacement heads are available on the FOREO website.

I am so happy that FOREO ISSA now works so beautifully and I can finally give it a full throated endorsement. If you are looking for an effective, yet gentle oral care device that is easy to keep clean, charges up fast and holds that charge for a long time, give the FOREO ISSA with the Hybrid Brush Head a go.

Do you own a FOREO ISSA Oral Care Device? Are you happy with the original brush or will you be picking up a Hybrid Brush Head? Is the new, more effective brush tempting you to try? Please do tell, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
