Greetings from the plague pit. My son was ill with the zombie plague cold/flu thing that seems to be going around and he, being the loving, giving young man he is, gave it to his father. I thought I was going to escape, as I usually do... Son's virus ran it's course and I was fine. Husband's virus ran it's course and I was still feeling fine. Then... It happened. That icky, watery sensation in my nose and head. It isn't like my normal allergy symptoms, it is that first, subtle harbinger of impending doom. My normally highly efficient immune system has betrayed me. I have succumbed to the zombie plague. It's early days, but I already feel like shit. This should be fun. I need a sarcasm font. And a gallon of NyQuil. Bleargh!
I was drifting around the sale section of the Sephora website, one day a while back. I don't know what I was looking for, really. Just a little... Something? To add to an order, I guess. I ran across this lipstick and I'm really happy that I did. Buxom Full Bodied Lipstick in Rogue. Normally $21.00 this beautiful lipstick was marked down to $15.00. I didn't know if they were just clearing out this shade or the line... I did a little digging around and it seems that it was indeed, the line. Shame, really.
Encased in an hourglass shaped, wide polished silver plastic tube, Buxom Full Bodied Lipstick in Rogue has a lovely, substantial feel in the hand without being overly heavy. This lipstick doesn't really add any weight to my handbag when I carry it around. The embossed bullet swivels up, smoothly to reveal a deeply pigmented, fiery orange coral.
This lipstick applies easily and smoothly, it becomes fully opaque in few passes, the finish is lightly glossy and the feel is silky and comfortable. Wear time? Not long but touchups are seamless so keeping the colour fresh is effortless. I can wear this lipstick all day and my lips feel just as happy and hydrated when I remove it as they did, when it was first applied.
I honestly don't grok why this line is no longer a thing. This lipstick is lovely. The one shade left, Rogue is still available, in the Sephora sake section, if you would like to snap up a new Summer colour. Can you imagine this with a golden tan and plenty of highlighter on a hot Summer night? Hot-cha-cha!
