Five beautiful, highly wearable shades make up the Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Collection Lipstick lineup. Red and pink heavy, these are lip colours Gwen lives in and there is a shade or two that should suit just about everyone.
The packaging of these lipsticks is just lovely to look at. The outer boxes have the signature to the collection white with gold stripe geometric print. The lipstick case, it's self is black and decorated with the line's gold geometric stripes and nameplate. The UD logo is embossed in the top of the cap in their signature Gothic font. The diameter is wider than the norm and the appearance is one of a hefty, luxe feel. Unfortunately, for the $18.00 ask, the tube is a letdown. The lightweight plastic case looks, once the decorated cap is removed rather generic and the feel in my hand is pure bargain basement. Not what I was expecting from Urban Decay or this collaboration.
Happily, the lipstick encased in the rather disappointing tube is not in the least bit anything to be unhappy about. My two choices are Wonderland, a beautiful, pink-red creme and Ex Girlfriend, a lovely, semi sheer rosy nude with a hint of pink opalescence. The formula and quality of the lipstick, it's self is on point. Both shades are colours I love to wear and just the ticket for my skin tone.
Ex Girlfriend on. This soft, sheer-ish rosy nude with a delicate pink shift is the perfect smack-it-on-and-go lip colour. There is enough tint to enhance any natural lip tone and the lightweight, hydrating formula keeps my lips comfortable and happy all day long. This lipstick is easy to wear tho it's light, slippy nature means that time on the lips is hardly stellar. Touchups are no mirror easy.
When a punch of bright colour is desired, Wonderland is here to do my bidding. Smooth, creamy-dreamy formulation and rich pigmentation combine to enrobe my lips in comfort, even, opaque coverage and an eye popping, bright raspberry with a hint of a blue-y fuchsia shift. Gentle reader, this is the perfect Summer lip colour. If you have any little vertical lip lines, I strongly suggest pressing into service a good barrier pencil and lip liner. This baby will crawl if you don't contain it. I don't mind the extra bit of effort, tho. This shade is worth it!
Sensitive creatures or those who don't appreciate scented cosmetics rejoice. This lipstick formula is fragrance free. There is the lightest zephyr of "lipstick-y" scent but it isn't overt and certainly doesn't linger.
Overall, I am very happy with my two Urban Decay X Gwen Stefani Collection Lipsticks. Despite the chintzy case build these lipsticks live up to my expectations. I love the look of them and the formula is excellent. I am enjoying these lipsticks and I recommend them.
Urban Decay is cruelty free.
