Liquid lipstick is the current "It Girl" of the makeup world. To be honest, I haven't been all that enthusiastic. Most liquid lipsticks murder my very sensitive lips so I tend to avoid them. One exception is Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquid Lipstick.

Knowing that I like the Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick formula (I own two shades and love them) when Too Faced released their Chocolate lipsticks, I was intrigued. I like lipstick. I like chocolate. Problem is, I'm not wild about brown or tan/nude lip colours on me. I saw swatches of this newer line and one shade, Chocolate Milkshake seemed to be a rosy/nude that could actually work for me, so I ordered it.

Too Faced Liquefied Lipsticks usually match their tube colour and as you can see, as it squeezes out through the applicator, it appears more rosy than tan/nude. However, once I got it on my lips, this lipstick looked very different than I expected. Most definitely lighter, more nude than rosy. I wasn't sure about it but I left it on, took pictures and lived in it for a while.

Surprisingly, I'm not mad at it. I don't usually look well in tan or beige nudes, they make me look, for lack of a better word... Dead. Melted Chocolate Milkshake has enough pink in it, even on me to look lively and flattering and I have to say, I dig it. It is rare, indeed that I find a nude shade that I like and that works with my complexion.

Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquefied Lipstick has a lovely formula. Smooth and creamy with good body, it is easy to apply, control and settle into an even, opaque finish with not too much work. My preferred method is to begin with a good fence of clear barrier pencil then smooth the lippie on with the applicator, outline, shape and fill in. Then I use my finger to perfect and even everything out just right. There is a soft, chocolate scent that lingers for a while, if you dislike scented lip products, you are not going to appreciate this one. Wear time is very good. I can wear this for hours and when it begins to look a little worn, a quick lip smush or swipe with a clean finger settles and smooths it back into place. Comfort is not too bad, considering. My lips come out of a day in this formula pretty happy. I balm up well, before application and that definitely helps.

Have you tried the Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquefied Lipstick or other Too Faced Melted Liquefied Long Wear Lipstick shades? Which are your favorites?
