Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss - My Notes

    //affiliate//

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss - My Notes-notesfrommydressingtable.com

I have been curious about the Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss for a while so when I recently found a set of four on sale on the Sephora website, I thought I'd pick it up and see what I think. While this particular set of four is no longer available, all four glosses are part of the core line and listed for individual sale. Each clear, plastic tube contains 0.23 fl oz. of product and retail for $19.00 each.

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss - My Notes-Applicator Details-notesfrommydressingtable.com

The Make Up For Ever Plexi Gloss is smoothed on with a wide, flexible flocked applicator that resembles a mitten without a thumb. The applicator tip, being wide and rounded gave me pause. I thought that I would not be able to get a precise application with it. Surprisingly, it works quite well, hugging the lip line and laying down product where I want it. Not a lot of gloss is picked up at a time and I found myself dipping back into the tube several times to get full coverage.

True to the name, these glosses are extremely shiny. They have varying degrees of pigmentation and come in creme, sheer and shimmer. I have four shades:

    Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss - My Notes-Shade 101-Lip Swatch-notesfrommydressingtable.com

101 is described as an Opaque Nude Beige. Nude beige it is. Opaque? Sure. If you have absolutely perfect, line free lips; something I have never seen outside of a Photoshopped image. This gloss is stupid shiny but the pigmented aspect doesn't hold together and it settles immediately into every line and crevice in my lips. This image was shot seconds after I applied.

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss - My Notes-Lip Swatch Shade 207-notesfrommydressingtable.com

207 is Opaque Candy Pink. This blue-based bright pink is more opaque than the Nude Beige and the colour hangs together better on my lips. I really dig this colour. I think it will be pretty, come Spring.

Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss - My Notes-Lip Swatch Shade 301P-notesfrommydressingtable.com

301P is designated a Pearly Nude Coral. This sheer is lightly pigmented and shot through with a delicate iridescent gold shimmer whose particles are so fine that they can't be felt, even when I rub my lips together. I like that this gloss doesn't leave behind a ton of scattershot when it is removed.

    Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi-Gloss - My Notes-Lip Swatch-Shade 304-notesfrommydressingtable.com

304 is a Sheer Red Coral. This is pretty! Vibrant and warm, this is a sultry Summer night in a tiny tube. I could see this jiving with softly bronzed skin and plenty of gold highlighter. Pigmentation on this is better than the Nude Beige, which is supposed to be opaque.

The formula on these glosses is very thick, sticky doesn't even begin to describe the texture and they are not lovely to apply; they stick, drag, pull and require multiple trips to the well to get full coverage. The result is a gummy, gloppy mass that immediately begins to seep into the tiny lines around my lips and soon escapes to crawl all over my face. A good barrier pencil is in order, unless you are very firm of skin around your mouth.

I have heard and read many complaints about the scent of the Artist Plexi Gloss. Descriptions from plastic-y to burned rubber come to mind. Honestly, I don't think that these glosses smell bad, at all. They have an ever so slight plastic-y aroma but it isn't strong and it doesn't linger much past application. Unless my sniffer is on the fritz? These glosses don't smell bad. They just aren't highly fragranced like cake batter, fruit or flowers. *shrug* There is a light, sweet taste when touched with the tongue but again, it's faint. I don't grok where the complaints are coming from, to be perfectly honest.

Bottom line: I am not sure just how I feel about the Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Gloss. They have good and not so good points. I don't love them... I don't hate them. They are just kind of... Meh. I don't feel that these are suitable for sole wear, perhaps they will be more successful over a coordinating lipstick. Will I use them? Not sure. Do I recommend them? Again, not sure. I have glosses I like better. I know that I'm not ready to write these off, just yet. We'll see.

Do you own Make Up For Ever Artist Plexi Glosses? What do you think of them? If they work for you, can you recommend to me how best to apply so that I can get a better result? Please share!

Fight Signs of Aging with Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream

Fight Signs of Aging with Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream-Review-notesfrommydressingtable.com

Get started on your Retinol journey to an improved complexion with Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream. This specialized formula includes Retinol at 0.2% to increase cell turnover, help clear blemishes, improve overall tone and texture and impart a beautiful glow. Decapeptide - 12 reduces melanin production for a more even tone and reduction of dark spots and Bisabolol hydrates and helps to heal.

I talk about Retinol and share a lot of products containing different concentrations for one reason; I believe in it. Retinol helped turn my skin around. I suffered with adult acne for years and had the post breakout marks and discolouration scarring to show for it. I started with a low concentration (the same contained in this cream), increasing it as higher concentrations became available to me, OTC and stuck with it. Over time, my skin cleared up and with patience my dark post acne scarring faded to almost invisible. I went from dark bands of pigmentation that I would have to cover with heavy concealers and ultra high coverage foundation to just to walk out my door to the mailbox, to feeling confident enough about my skin that I was able to post a photograph of my bare, unmadeup face on my very public blog.

If you are struggling with some of the same issues I did, Retinol can help. It won't happen overnight but it will happen!

Fight Signs of Aging with Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream-notesfrommydressingtable.com

Lumixyl Trifecting Night Creme comes in a light safe, air tight vacuum bottle with one of those nifty twist up pumps that keeps active ingredients potent and ready to go and the contents sanitary. The cream is slightly off white and a medium thick viscosity with a lightweight feel. The cream spreads easily across the skin and drops in, swiftly to leave my skin feeling soft, velvety and hydrated with no oily or sticky film. I have very dry skin, so I like to apply some night cream over it, after this has been on my face, for a while. #driedoutoldhag If you are not as dry, this should do very nicely as your sole night cream.

I don't experience any discomfort or stinging when I apply this cream. I have built up a tolerance from my years of using Retinol. If you are a beginner or have sensitive skin, I suggest either starting with a lower concentration (this cream is also available in a 0.1% concentration) and/or going in slow, using it once or twice a week and gradually building up to nightly use. I used to experience a little warming and brief stinging in the early days now, I don't. As with any skin care treatment that contains active ingredients like Retinol, this product will make skin even more vulnerable to UV exposure so don't forget to apply an effective sunscreen before you go out, every day.

Save 25% through 2/18/16 when you use the provided links to purchase Lumixyl Trifecting Night Cream from Lovely Skin.

Michael Todd CX Vitamin C Plus Retinol Complex for Beautiful Skin

    //product sent for consideration//

Michael Todd CX Vitamin C Plus Retinol Complex for Beautiful Skin - notesfrommydressingtable.com

I am firmly convinced that the secret to beautiful skin is Retinol and Vitamin C. Seriously. I have the best complexion of my adult life and it's due to my avid use of these two powerful active ingredients. Michael Todd CX35 Vitamin C Plus Retinol Complex is a fantastic way to get started with these skin beautifiers or to supplement an established skin care routine. Containing stabilized Retinol and Vitamin C in multiple forms as well as Macadamia Nut Oil and Vitamin E this clear, gel like serum provides treatment and helps to seal in critical moisture. Over time, with consistent use Retinol and Vitamin C can correct uneven skin tone, brighten, fade dark spots, including post acne marks and help clear skin and refine the appearance of pores.

    Ingredients:
Water, Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, 3-o-ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Sodium Ascorbate, Retinol, Caprylic/capric Triglyceride, Lactobacillus/radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, Macadamia Ternifolia Nut Oil, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Tocopherol, Niacinamide, Ascorbic Acid, Retinyl Propionate, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide.
Michael Todd CX Vitamin C Plus Retinol Complex for Beautiful Skin - notesfrommydressingtable.com

I like to dispense a small amount onto the palm of my hand, mix in other Retinol and Vitamin C serums to create my "complexion cocktail" then gently pat and tap it into my skin. I wait a few minutes to let this absorb then apply eye cream and moisturizer. I can take this serum close to my sensitive eyes with no irritation. Being careful not to get it in my eyes, of course. I haven't experienced any stinging or discomfort from this serum, but my skin is well used to the active ingredients so I didn't expect to. If you have sensitive skin or have not used Vitamin C/Retinol, before my standard advice is to first patch test then go in slow, gauge how your skin does then use a couple of times a week, gradually increasing the number of days you apply, depending on your tolerance and needs. I have a high tolerance and I'm an old broad so I hit my skin with actives, daily.

I haven't been using this treatment long enough to know if it is making a substantive difference but I can say that it is lovely and I recommend it to Retinol and Vitamin C beginners and pros, alike. Don't forget that Retinol and Vitamin C make skin more sensitive to UV so be sure to wear an effective sunscreen and protect your skin from exposure, as best you can.

Michael Todd CX 35 Vitamin C Plus Retinol Complex comes to us in a light and air safe opaque plastic 1.3 fl oz. pump bottle and is $37.00.

Michael Todd Naturals is cruelty free.

Have you tried this treatment? Are you actively using Retinol or Vitamin C? How are you liking them?

Want Softer, Shinier Hair? Get Nutty!

Want Softer, Shinier Hair? Get Nutty! - Hask Macadamia Nut Oil Hair Care Review notesfrommydressingtable.com

Hair. Mine is bleached, coloured, gets heat styled probably more often than it really should. Getting my hair to look shiny, smooth and well behaved while feeling soft and silky is a huge challenge. Hask Macadamia Oil Hair Care helps.

Want Softer, Shinier Hair? Get Nutty! - Hask Macadamia Nut OIl Hair Care - Review notesfrommydressingtable.com

Moisturizing Shampoo is a sulfate free, creamy cleansing treat for parched tresses. This shampoo cleanses thoroughly but doesn't leave my hair feeling stripped or squeaky. While this shampoo is gentle and non drying, my hair feels fresh and bouncy, when dry.

Moisturizing Conditioner. Rich, creamy, relatively thick but not sticky or gloppy, this conditioner offers excellent combout with the conditioner in and good slip for combout after blotting. This conditioner leaves my hair feeling amazingly soft, silky and shiny after my hair is dry and has had time to relax for a while.

Moisturizing Shine Oil. This silicone/oil combo treatment offers hydration and softening to my stressed, frizzy, damaged hair. As my hair is so dry, I can use a pretty generous amount and my hair just drinks it up! I like to apply before drying or styling. This is a lovely treat for wet bunning, as it gets to stay on my damp hair for a long period and deeply soften and smooth. I put a few drops in my palm, rub my hands together and work it into my length and ends on one side, repeat for the other side, then for the back. I add a little additional to my Cranky Canopy in back and on the sides then run the leftover on my hands over my roots and crown. (I can get away with this because I'm not so oily. If you have very oily hair, keep this stuff on your length and ends.) A little added after styling boosts shine and smooths for a perfect finish.

Moisturizing Deep Conditioner. Okay, I have to admit that I haven't used this, yet. No reason, really. I just don't think about it until I'm already in the shower and I'm not hopping out and going streaking for a packet of conditioner. I'll get to it.

I also received a cute, pink mini dual bristle cushion paddle brush. That baby was popped directly into my handbag. I've been meaning to buy a purse sized brush for a while but I never think of it when I'm at the store. Now, I have one and I like it. It's nice for quick smoothing and style touch ups on the run.

The scent that this line shares is somewhat chemical-y, generically sweet with undertones of nut, vanilla and earth. The scent isn't strong but it is apparent. The shampoo and oil are more strongly scented than the conditioner. I like the scent of the oil, best. The scent lingers for a while after I step out of the shower but it isn't overpowering and does dissipate after a while. If you are sensitive or dislike fragranced hair care, this line isn't going to be for you.

Overall, I like the Hask Macadamia Oil Hair Care line. These are effective, quality hair care products at a good price. I would love to try the Keratin Protein, Coconut Oil varieties and the styling products, as well.

You can find more information about Hask hair care here and the products can be purchased in Sally Beauty Supply stores and at Ulta Beauty.

Have you tried Hask Macadamia Hair Care or any of the other flavors they offer? What do you think of these products?

Mitch Stone Lustre Drops for Glossy Hair

Glossy, shiny hair. We all want it. We all can have it. From Mitch Stone Essentials Pro Hair Care comes a lovely shine enhancing product with precious argan oil at it's core and a proprietary blend of vitamins and papaya that work in synergy to impart shine as it restores, softens and smooths dry, stressed tresses.

Mitch Stone Lustre Drops for Glossy Hair

Mitch Stone Lustre Drops is a clear, thick liquid that is dispensed from a pump to easily control the amount used. This shine serum thins out when rubbed in the palms of your hands and it doesn't feel at all sticky or greasy. Just satiny smooth and nurturing. A few drops, in each side of my hair, more in the back and the excess smoothed on my roots and crown leave my hair looking and feeling soft, silky-smooth and shiny. This is a lovely pre heat treatment as well as a beautiful finisher to put the final polish on my style.

A generous 2 fl oz./60 mL bottle is $18.00 and you can buy it here.

Mitch Stone Essentials Pro Hair Care is cruelty free, many products are free of sulfates and parabens.

OPI Give Me Space and Bonus Holiday Nail Art

    //sent for consideration//self purchase//

OPI Give Me Space is one of those magical polishes that you absolutely must acquire and apply to your nails to "get."

OPI Give Me Space and Bonus Holiday Nail Art - notesfrommydressingtable.com

Navy blue jelly. Deep and richly pigmented and stays true blue on the nails, in any light is generously infused with holographic micro glitter. Application is a joy, the perfect formula flows softly off the Pro-Wide brush, sits sweetly down where it is placed and glides up the nail with no argument. No dragging, pooling, running or bubbling. Control was dreamy, I only did fussbudget refining, I had so little cleanup. The first coat is a little streaky but the second coat makes it all even, smooth and perfect. Dry time is fab with a good, fast dry top coat. I get decent wear from this polish, four solid days of pretty with just tip wear and a couple of tiny chips. Impressive, considering how fast my nails shed polish.

Gentle reader, this polish is everything. If you love blue and holo sparkles, get it, while you can!

On my accent nail is China Glaze Glistening Snow. Yeah, I know... I'm an asshole for showing a VHTF in this manner. But I had to add it to this mani, it is perfect with Give Me Space.

I applied this manicure for Christmas and, since I actually had a tiny bit of extra time that day, in spite of the fact that I was prepping for a party, this night I did some nail art. I stamped silver snowflakes with another impossible to find China Glaze. Millennium is my all time fave stamping polish, it is so perfect. China Glaze needs to bring it back. Seriously. Now.

OPI Give Me Space and Bonus Holiday Nail Art - Review and Holiday Nail Art - notesfrommydressingtable.com

On my accent nail, I used tapes to form a simple triangle shape to evoke a Christmas tree, painted on more OPI Give Me Space then used a little square crystal, turned to diamond as the topper. Everything is finished with more fast dry top coat... I think I used KB Shimmer Clearly on Top. Yep. I did. I have to tell you, I fucking love this top coat. It's almost. Almost as fast, hard cure, sick glossy as my beloved Seche Vite. I will be purchasing more, when this bottle runs out!

I don't do polish posts as often as I used to and I'm kind of missing them. I need to buckle down, swatch more, do more polish features.

Okay, did you get OPI Give Me Space? Don't you just love it? What did you wear on your tips for the holidays? Anything special? Nail art? A classic solid creme? Glittah bombshell sparkle? Share!

Beautiful Eyes and Cheeks with the Tarte Showstopper Palette

    //affiliate//

Beautiful Eyes and Cheeks with the Tarte Showstopper Palette notesfrommydressingtable.com

As a total sucker for must things Tarte, I knew that I had to have this palette just about the first moment I saw it. I mean, just look at it! Those beautiful neutrals... That coral blush... Bronzer and what is swiftly becoming a favorite highlighter. The Tarte Showstopper Palette has what you need for a beautiful, polished look in one chic disk.

Beautiful Eyes and Cheeks with the Tarte Showstopper Palette notesfrommydressingtable.com

The heavy, gold trimmed faux snake palette is a departure from what I normally go for but I'm not mad at it. The mirror inside the lid is plenty big enough use for applying a full face of makeup if this is going with you on vacation or a business trip. My only tiny gripe with the packaging is that the shade names are not printed in the palette or on the back, they are all on one of those stupid plastic slipcovers. Time to go pick up a fine point Sharpie and do a little writing on the back of my palette. *sigh*

Beautiful Eyes and Cheeks with the Tarte Showstopper Palette - Swatches notesfrommydressingtable.com

Peruse my stellar (sarcasm font, I need one) swatches.

Park Ave. Princess Bronzer: Soft, a little glow-y. I was worried that it may come off a bit orange and wrong for my skin tone but like NARS Laguna, this bronzer pleasantly surprised me!

Champagne Pink Highlighter: This baby is fast becoming a fave! I have this gorgeous, gently rosy strober in this palette and in my Light of the Party Palette. I love the gently pink undertone and the silky smooth formula.

Fame Amazonian Clay Blush: Hello! This coral is the perfect shade to impart a bright, warm flush to your cheeks.

All of the wearable, elegant neutral eye shadows are Tarte's excellent formula. Soft and silky smooth, they all apply easily, build and blend like a dream. My brush kicks up a little bit of powder and the shimmers can be a tad flaky but a quick tap of my brush before I get to my eye prevents fallout. All of the colours in this palette work beautifully together and on me, they last all day without fading, creasing or breaking down.

If this looks like a palette you'd like to add to your life, you can find it on the Tarte websiteSephoraUlta and where you find Tarte.

Do you own this versatile, portable face beautifier? What are your favorite Tarte goodies? Been trying anything new? I have my greedy eyeballs on the new Tartelette in Bloom shadow palette. I'm working on how to slot it into my budget. I'll have it, one day.

    Talking ColourPop At Last!

Yes. I know. I am so late to the party. So late, in fact that I debated posting this, especially since some of the items I am sharing are no longer available. But, there are very similar shades on the site so... I'm going for it.

Talking ColourPop At Last! Stuffs I Bought notesfrommydressingtable.com

I finally broke down and entered the realm of ColourPop. After perusing the site... More than a few times and feeling a bit overwhelmed by the insane selection, I decided to go in small and easy. I bought a couple of eye shadow collections, two blushes, a highlighter and a lippie. I thought that these items would give me a good start and by ordering sets, I got rid of that "Oh, shit! Where do I start?" feeling.

At less then ten dollars per item, most are five bucks a pop, this brand is insanely affordable but don't let the price tag fool you. Colour Pop is good stuff!

Talking ColourPop At Last! Products Closeup notesfrommydressingtable.com

Packaging is sleek, lightweight plastic jars and pencil style dispensers. Each eye colour, blush, highlight and so on are in individual containers. Collections come in form fitted presentation boxes and my orders arrived from Los Angeles, California beautifully packed in wrap and thick, cushy foam and a sturdy box. Every order also includes a card with a lovely little message. Very nice attention to detail.

The texture of the eye and cheek colours is unique. A hybrid powder/gel/creme dense mousse-y thing. Touch the surface and it feels cool, somewhat creamy-bouncy. The pigment picks up easily on a finger, a little less so with brushes. Pigmentation is intense for most shades, ease of application varies by finish and shade but overall, these products apply and perform very well. Some do better applied with fingers, especially the more sparkly eye colours but all of them are workable with a brush, once you get the feel for them. I get good, all day wear from the eye shadows with primer.

Each eye colour, blush, highlight and so on are in individual containers. Due to the unique nature of the formula, this makeup can't be put in a palette and you must be careful to secure the lids after every use or the product will dry out and be rendered useless.

Talking ColourPop At Last! Super Shock Eye Shadows Swatches notesfrommydressingtable.com

The Super Shock shadows are from the Mondays in Malibu and Forever Freshman collections. The Mondays in Malibu seems to not be available, any longer. I also bought I (heart) This. There are tons of similar shades to what I bought, on the site. My swatches... They are tragic. A thousand apologies!

Talking ColourPop At Last! - Blush Highlight Lippie Stix Swatches notesfrommydressingtable.com

Here you see the swatches of Cupid (no longer available) Lippie Stix, a glossy formula. Also Prenup and Tasty blushes and Spoon highlighter.

I have, since these shots were taken, acquired a few more goodies and plan to treat myself to others. I like this line! It is affordable, the formula, while not flawless is interesting and very usable, once you get the hang of it. The colours are beautiful and I get good wear from them. I feel that this line is excellent value for the money and I think that if you haven't yet, you should seriously consider giving ColourPop a whirl. What do you have to lose?

If you sign up for their newsletter, you will receive a code for five clams off your order. How sweet is that? ColourPop frequently runs specials and sends out coupon codes so it pays to sign up for the latest news you can use. Oh! ColourPop is not tested on furry creatures so you can feel good about getting your bargain on and wearing these pretties.

So, how much ColourPop is inhabiting your makeup case? What are your favorite colours, finishes? What would you suggest I steer clear of? Tell! Tell! Give me ideas!

Perfect Your Skin with Shiseido Ibuki Multi Solution Gel | My Notes and a Giveaway

    //sent for consideration//affiliate//

Perfect Your Skin with Shiseido Ibuki Multi Solution Gel | My Notes and a Giveaway Packaging notesfrommydressingtable.com

Shiseido Ibuki Multi Solution Gel is a targeted treatment for skin emergencies and longer term difficulties such as breakouts, dryness, uneven texture and can improve the appearance of enlarged pores.

What, you might ask do I need with this treatment if I have dry skin that doesn't break out? Well... I have some bumpy, uneven texture in a few spots and I am treating them with this product and it's beginning to have a positive effect without wreaking havoc on my skin.

Perfect Your Skin with Shiseido Ibuki Multi Solution Gel | My Notes and a Giveaway Product Detail notesfrommydressingtable.com

All I have to do is pick up a little of this bouncy, lime-y green gel from the beautiful, pearly/silvery little jar on my finger (a tiny bit goes a long way!) and pat and smooth it into the areas I wish to treat. I use it in the dip between my lower lip and chin, on the skin behind my ears and the backs of my ears and on my eye lids, above my orbital bone. I don't know if this treatment is "approved" for use near the eyes but I'm careful not to get it in my eyes and it's fine. I don't experience any adverse reactions or sensitivity.

I have been using this for a while, now and I'm noticing some improvement in the areas that I treat. The most dramatic change is the backs of my ears and the skin behind them... I don't know why that area gets so bumpy... Leave in conditioners and so on? I wear my hair up almost all of the time and I'm not a manky skank; I wash... So who knows. Just one of the mysteries of life and having skin, I guess. The other spots are taking a bit more time but I'm patient and I am seeing some improvement so it's all good. I'm happy to keep on keeping on.

    Ingredients:
Active Ingredient: Salicylic Acid 0.5%; Inactive Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, Sd Alcohol 40-B, Dimethicone, Peg/Ppg-14/7 Dimethyl Ether, Peg-240/Hdi Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, Glycyl Glycine, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Silica, Trehalose, Sodium Chloride, Gellan Gum, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Serine, Polyquaternium-51, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Potassium Hydroxide, Disodium Edta, Sodium Citrate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Alcohol, Citric Acid, Glycerin, Bht, Peg-30 Soy Sterol, Trisodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Yellow 5, Blue 1.

I like this treatment. It is gentle, effective and it does what it says it will do and bonus! it doesn't further dry out my already Sahara Desert dry skin. If you have any skin condition concerns, such as breakouts, pores, uneven texture... The Shiseido Ibuki Multi Solution Gel may be just what you're looking for! This little jar of goodness retails for $38.00 and is available not only from Shiseido, directly, you can find it at SephoraNordstromLord & Taylor and wherever else you find Shiseido products. Have you tried this little pot of lime-green love? What do you think of it? Is it working for you?

Not only do I love this treatment, I am a huge fan of the Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate and I adore the Facial Cotton. I'm a little spoiled, it's all I want to use on my face. I justify the expense with Beauty Blogger Math and only using it on my face. I am so impressed with the products from this line that I have tried, so far and I would love, one day to be able to give their skin care for dry skin and their cosmetics a whirl!

Pur Cameo Contour Stick - Light | My Notes

Pur Cameo Contour Stick - Light | My Notes - Gorgeous Box and Ribbon notesfrommydressingtable.com

PUR Minerals The Complexion Authority introduces the PUR Cameo Contour Stick. I received the five shades available. They arrived in this gorgeous black box tied with a long satin ribbon and nestled snugly in beautiful silver tissue.

The PUR Cameo Contour Sticks are dual ended contour foundation sticks that function as contour, highlighter and even as a lightweight foundation.

Pur Cameo Contour Stick - Light | My Notes - Product Details notesfrommydressingtable.com

Included in each pretty, silver box is a dual ended Cameo Contour stick and a pink egg shaped beauty sponge with a broad, flat edge at the top, on one side. The dual ended stick is a twist up design, The sponge is similar to the beautyblender, it is firmer but is used in the same fashion; run it under warm water until it is saturated and expands and softens up a bit then squeeze it, hard to remove excess water, leaving it damp and ready to go.

Using the Cameo Contour stick couldn't be easier. Twist up the darker shade and lightly stripe it where you want to create shadows, directly under the cheekbones, along the jawline and under the chin, along the hairline, down the sides of the nose. Apply contour to suit your unique features and needs. To add light and lift to your face, flip the stick and apply the light tone on the high planes of the face; top of the cheekbones, down the center of the nose, a bit on the chin, the tip of the nose, cupid's bow and center of the forehead. You could also add some to the triangle under the eyes, if desired.

Now, take the blending sponge and bounce it to blend your contour and highlight into your skin. Easy-peasy.

Pur Cameo Contour Stick - Light | My Notes - Swatches notesfrommydressingtable.com

The shade I use is Light. I love the highlight shade. It brightens, giving my face a youthful, lit from within quality without added shimmer or radiance. The contour shade is, sadly just a bit tan to work effectively for my pale face as a contour shade. I think that I'll give it a go as a light creme bronzer to warm up my skin as things begin to warm up, come Spring.

The formula on this product is lovely. The creme is smooth, silky and weightless on the skin. It blends out easily without having to pummel away at it forever and it doesn't seem to disturb the foundation/concealer under it. I can wear this all day. It doesn't fade, separate, break down or crack. This product is chemical sunscreen free.

    Ingredients:
Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Dimethicone, Isononyl Isononanoate, Ethylhexyl Stearate, Silica, Polyethylene, Bis-Stearyl Dimethicone, Nylon-12, Isopropyl Isostearate, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, C10-18 Triglycerides, Squalane, Copernica Cerafera (Carnauba) Wax, Ceramide Ap, Retinol, Lactic Acid (L), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Isopropyl Titanium Triisostearate, Phenoxyethanol. May Contain: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI77492, CI77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).

I applied the Cameo Contour Stick in Light, over my foundation. I went easy on the contour shade, as it doesn't gel with my skin tone as a contour and splashed on a bit more highlight to give me a soft, strobed effect. Details on the rest of my makeup look can be found here.

There is much to appreciate about these handy-dandy dual ended sticks of love. The formula is top rate, they blend out like a dream and wear (for me) like iron, all day. My only tiny sadness is that the contour shade isn't sympatico with my skin tone. I would be over the moon if PUR did a contour shade for us fairer people that was more grey toned. Then, the stick would be absolutely perfect!

I have to say, as huge a fan as I am of my beloved beautyblenders, the sponge that comes with the Cameo Contour is a good one! I have used mine with the stick and for just bouncing foundation, CC cream, concealer and so on into my skin. It performs very well and I dig the flat area, it is such a useful feature. I'm a fan.

If you would like to try the PUR Cameo Contour Stick, it is available in five shade combos to suit fair to deep skin tones and are available from the PUR websiteKohl's and Ulta Beauty. If you are ordering online, don't forget to use Ebates.

Have you tried the PUR Cameo Contour Stick? What do you think about it? What are your favorite PUR makeup products? Any I should pick up and give a whirl?
