The Pur Transformation Palette for Pretty Holiday Eyes and Cheeks

//product sent for editorial consideration//affiliate links in use//shopping through trusted affiliate links helps to support this site//

Right now, I'm in holiday mode. I want colour, shine, sparkle and a little metallic gleam. I think that the PUR Cosmetics Transformation Sculpting Eye Shadow and Cheek Palette can help me out.

When I open the lid, I am greeted by a full size mirror. While not huge, it is plenty big enough to get my primp on. The eye and cheek colours are a unique, putty-to-powder formula that give instant payoff and adhere like a second skin. Made with Moroccan lava clay and PUR's proprietary skin care ingredients, this makeup is as good for your skin as it is pretty. I find that when working with these colours, fingers or synthetic brushes seem to work best for me.

Swatch time.
  • Cheek: Brand New Blush. Muted coral with sheen, this is very smooth and easy to work with and gives the prettiest flush to my cheeks.
  • Cheek: Tailor Made, a Matte Bronzer. Again, the formula is lovely but the colour isn't super compatible with my skin tone.
  • Eye: Bleeding Edge. Black creme with tiny sparkles. This is amazingly smooth and easy to work with but it transfers on my hooded lids.
  • Original. Champagne shimmer. This. Is. Gorgeous! So soft and velvety and so lovely to apply and blend.
  • Alter. Dark coral. While this one is nice to the touch, it swatches patchy. Funny enough, it applies, builds and blends, quite nicely.
  • Re-werk. Dark Plum with shimmer. This one is a little bit stiff  to the touch and it is patchy in swatches but it does look nice, once it's on and blended down.
  • Metamorphosis. True gold metallic. This shadow is buttery and smooth and it is beautiful on.

Overall, I really like this palette. While the bronzer shade is a bit "off" for me and Bleeding Edge shadow isn't the thing for my hooded eyes, I love the blush and the other shadows are really good. PUR Transformation Sculpting Eye and Cheek Palette is available at Ulta Beauty. PUR Cosmetics is cruelty free.

My November Play! by Sephora Beauty Subscription Box

//affiliate links in use//

Why, hello! So, you're curious about what I received in my Play! By Sephora Beauty Subscription Box? It was a pretty good one, this month. Shall we take a tour?

November is Best in Glow. The Glow Getters.

Glamglow Gravity Mud Firming Treatment, 1.4 oz. $69.00. Dude... I mean. Dude... This mask is amazing! This snack sized tube holds enough of the mask for a couple of uses. It comes out a pearly silvery-white and, after it is smoothed on the face in an even layer, dries to a bright, polished silver. My face was glowing so bright, I could have brought planes in at night. This mask smells kind of sweet/coconut-y. It feels amazing on, it firms but doesn't squeeze my face to death as it dries and is easy to peel off. Getting a mask off in one piece is so satisfying! And my skin felt amazing, afterward. Do I want a full size? You bet your sweet bippy I do.

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet, 1.3 oz. $39.00. This gel-creme is formulated to deeply hydrate all skin types. We'll see about that. I do love the name. It's like skin care dessert. I'll let you know how it goes, when I have a chance to get into it.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour. This is a snack size a full size is $29.00. The shade I received is Rose Gold. Holy cats! Gentle reader, this shadow stick is gorgeous. Silky, creamy smooth, glides onto the lid, blends easily and sets to stay all day. I'm going to be wanting a full size. Probably in a few different sades...

Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gel. I received a tiny one in Pin Up Pink. A full size is $12.00. Semi sheer, very glossy. A bit on the sticky/stringy side and has a scent I'm not jiving with. Not a fan of this one, to be perfectly honest. I won't be buying any in the full size.

Cover FX Illuminating Primer. The full size is $38.00 for 1 oz. I haven't tried this one, yet. But I think it's going to be great in combo with my Custom Cover Drops. Of which I need another bottle... If Sephora ever gets my shade back in stock!

Maison Margiela 'Replica' by the Fireplace I received a sample vial. A full size is 3.4 oz. 125.00. Notes of Pink Pepper, Orange Flower Petals, Clove Oil, Chestnut Accord, Gaiac Wood Oil, Cade Oil, Vanilla Accord, Peru Balsam and Cashmeran. I am not too sure about this scent, yet. I took a quick sniff and I'm possibly interested. From the brief whiff I took, it smells like fire, firewood, smoke and there is a floral/vanilla flip. I'll give a more in depth review, once I've had a chance to sit with it.

So, one product I distinctly disliked. One about which I'm not so sure. Two that sound promising, I just need to get busy with them and two hero products that I will be acquiring in their full sizes, soon. All in all, a good experience.

Do you subscribe to the Play! by Sephora Beauty Box? If you would like to try it, it's only $10.00 a month and so far, I'm very happy with the items I'm receiving and I will keep my subscription going. There may be a waiting list when you sign up, hopefully it won't be very long. I waited about five weeks but I have heard that wait times are getting shorter and in my opinion, this service is worth waiting a while. I certainly don't regret it.

ILIA Fade into You Soft Focus Finishing Powder and No. 5 Tapered Powder Brush

//product provided for editorial consideration//

It is always a pleasure when I can share with my gentle readers gorgeous products that are also good for us. Such is the case with ILIA Beauty. A company committed to providing beautiful, high performance cosmetics in elegant packaging while also being gentler on the earth, better for our skin and even our health by formulating with more natural ingredients that are up to 85% certified organic.

I received two products to try and share with you, today. Would you like to see?

Sleek, sophisticated, brushed silver tone and frosted is the jar that contains Fade Into You Soft Focus Finishing Powder. I hear all of the "experts" cry to the heavens that people over a certain age should never use powder but this old school girl just doesn't feel that her makeup look is complete without a sheer fluff of silky, lightweight finishing powder. A finishing powder helps lock down the makeup under it and puts that perfected, smooth touch on my look without appearing or feeling dry, cakey or exacerbating fine lines and wrinkles.

ILIA Fade Into You Soft Focus Finishing Powder is a beautiful formula that has been created with all skin types in mind. A base of organic powder is enriched with natural oils, as well as aloe leaf extract and vitamins and minerals that keep my skin looking smooth, perfected and feeling soft and supple.

Zea Mays (Corn) Starch*, Mica, Silica, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Zinc Stearate, Passiflora Incarnata (Passionfruit) Steam/Leaf, Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) Leaf*, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Tocopherol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Powder*, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate. *Certified Organic Ingredients. Ingrédients Certifiés Biologiques.

Sensitive beauties, this powder has a soft, somewhat floral, "pretty-ish" scent. I don't mind it and it doesn't encroach or last long once applied but if you dislike or can't handle fragrance, this powder may not be your cup of tea.

ILIA Fade Into You Soft Focus Finishing Powder is 50% organic and is cruelty free and vegan.

The ILIA No. 5 Finishing Powder Brush is the perfect tool with which to apply my finishing powder. Dark, brushed silver and pale gold tone metal combine to provide a handle that snugs into my hand and feels smooth, weighty and beautifully balanced. The tapered dome shaped synthetic bristles are very soft, providing a dense, yet beautifully flexible brush head that picks up just the right amount of powder to push it into my skin and buff it utterly smooth without disturbing the makeup underneath.

I also like this brush for bronzer, as synthetic bristles don't pick up a lot of powder all at once, so it's perfect for applying a more subtle wash of bronzer to my fair skin. The tapered shape also lends it's self to blush and highlighter application. The ILIA No. 5 Finishing Powder Brush is just an all around lovely face brush. It is a pleasure to use, it cleans up in a flash and it is a welcome, useful addition to my collection.

If you would like to experience these beautiful products and others for your perfect makeup look for yourself, shop ILIA Beauty.

Have you tried this line? What are your favorite products? I am interested in trying their lip productseye shadows and liners and those cool looking illuminators and multi sticks.

Vibrant Holiday Eyes and Lips with Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit

//products provided for editorial consideration//

Save time, travel light and get pretty, fast this holiday with the Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection.

Curated to be portable and easy to apply on the fly, these portable prettyfiers are just the thing to toss in a tote or carry on for a quick, office to cocktails primp or a fast trip over the river and through the woods to visit family for the holidays.

The limited edition Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection consists of five pieces that work in harmony to create your prettiest eyes and lips in mere moments. Included are two Cream Stay Shadow Sticks in Echo and Toast, a Precision Eye Pencil in Peach, Liquid Ink Liner in Black and Lipstick in Date Night.

A little close up action on the good stuff. Are not those shadow sticks pretty? They are kind of blowing my mind. The tip of that liquid liner applicator applies your perfect line, fine to bold. If you are so fortunate as to be good at applying liquid liner.

Personally, I suck at applying liquid liner. And when I say suck, I am not in any way exaggerating. The way I like to use the Liquid Ink is to dot it between my lashes, to make my lash line look fuller. It  is a way to use liquid liner that even I can't screw up and that precision tip makes it the perfect tool for the job.

Swatches for your eyeballs:
  • Heart - Precision Eye Pencil in Peach, perfect for brightening the waterline.
  • Smile - Cream Stay Shadow Stick in Echo, a soft, neutral brown satin with a floating gold shimmer.
  • Heart - Cream Stay Shadow in Toast, a golden tan shimmer.
  • Liquid Ink Liner in Black.
  • Lipstick in Date Night, a bright, festive berry red.
These lovely products all apply and blend like a dream. While I need to touch up the peach pencil in my water line, the shadow sticks give me crease and fade free all day wear alone or in concert with other shadows. The liquid liner doesn't run, smear or irritate my very sensitive eyes. Sadly, while the lipstick is gorgeous, it does dry my lips and I can't wear it. Please remember that my lips are idiotic, even balms can dry them out so your lips would probably be perfectly fine, in this this gorgeous lippie.

What do you think of the Glo Minerals Bold Pursuit Collection? Would it help you to pack light and look glam, this holiday season? Or are you like me and "pack light" isn't in your vocabulary? For a limited time, use code BLACKFRIDAY16 to save 20% and get free shipping.

Glo Minerals is Cruelty Free.

An Anti Aging Superstar | Sunday Riley Flora Hydro Active Cellular Face Oil

//self purchase//affiliate links in use//purchases made through trusted affiliate links help support this site//

In the land of splurge lives the mythical Sunday Riley Flora Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil. I featured this product in my Sephora VIB Sale Wishlist post. At the time I wrote it, this product was still living la vida wishlist and, while I very much wanted it, I was going back and forth between this and a very spendy Natasha Denona eye shadow palette. After much dithering and deliberation, I decided to split the difference, buy this oil and a smaller eye shadow palette. Two beautiful products for me and I spent less money.

When it arrived on my doorstep, my Sunday Riley Flora Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil presented in a gorgeous, monolith of a heavy card stock box.

Slide the lid up and off to reveal a custom molded, velvety base that snugly cradles a beautiful, rectangular glass bottle with a gold trimmed dropper top.

Lift out the heavy, glass bottle and... Oh my! It's so pretty!

I can't get over this beautiful bottle and I had to add this extra shot of the graduated pink toned glass. Doesn't it look like a jewel? I know. A pretty bottle isn't the best reason to spend so much money on a face oil but what can I say? I'm just superficial enough to admit that I love fabulous packaging and it can feature into my decision making process. I figure that after this oil is used up I can always wash the bottle out and use it for something else. A different oil... convert it to a tiny flower vase... Whatever I decide, the bottle will continue to delight.

I suppose that I should stop nattering about the damned bottle and get down to the real reason why we are here; the contents within. Sunday Riley Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil is a lightweight, pale green-gold oil created to nourish and deeply hydrate dry skin and it's anti aging properties are perfect to integrate with other skin care products to amp up potency of actives for optimal skin beautifying results.

A blend of nourishing Russian, Turkish and Bulgarian Red Roses contain powerful anti oxidants that protect skin from environmental damage and provides anti aging benefits, reducing the signs of premature aging.

Rosehip Oil provides Trans-Retinoic Acid (Retinol, baby!) that aids in skin regeneration, gently exfoliates and refines texture and tone.

Pomegranate Seed Oil is a rich plant source of Conjugated Linoleic Acid (Super CLA) to help support skin's natural ceramide synthesis and retain moisture.

Chia Seed Oil is the richest botanical source of Omega 3, a powerful source of Alpha Lipoic Acid, proven to help reduce the appearance of signs of aging.

The fragrance is not, as I had hoped, of rose. This oil has a light, organic, "crunchy" scent with the barest zephyr of rose, somewhere off in the distance. The scent is not powerful and it does dissipate quickly. Sunday Riley Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil is Vegan, Gluten Free and Hypo Allergenic, it is made without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates and is Cruelty Free.

Rosa Centifolia (French Rose De Mai) Oil, Rosa Damascena (Bulgarian Rose Otto) Oil, Rosa Damascena (Turkish Rose Otto) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oil, Cymbopogon Martini (Wildcrafted Palma Rosa) Oil, Persea Americana (Organic Avocado) Seed Oil, Punica Granatum (Organic Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Organic Wild Carrot) Seed Oil, Salvia Hispanica (Organic Chia) Seed Oil, Solanum Lycopersicum (Organic Tomato) Seed Oil, Rosa Mosqueta (Organic Rosehip) Seed Oil.

How does this oil perform for my Sahara Desert dry, maturing skin? Very well. My first test put this oil through it's paces, hard core. I cleansed my skin then I applied the oil as the sole product to see if it could live up to it's lofty promises as well as it's lofty price tag. The dry oil formula drops into my skin and immediately goes to work, hydrating and softening my face. I can use this right up to my lash line all the way around without irritating my very sensitive eyes or making them feel greasy or cloudy. The feel, after a few minutes is plumped and velvety smooth. My eye area has that silky, cool feel of well pampered skin.

I left this oil in place to do it's thing for a full twenty-four hours without disturbing it. I know... Gross. But I really wanted to push this stuff and see what it can do. After all of that time, my face still felt hydrated and soft and bonus points for the gently firming sensation that doesn't quit. I can use this face oil as a serum, before other skin care or pat in a little on top of my face cream as a moisture boost. I can also mix it in with my foundation to give me that lovely, youthful dewy glow. My overall assessment is that the Sunday Riley Flora Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil lives up to it's billing. I am enjoying it and I am happy that I bought it.

There are four different Sunday Riley Face Oils to cater to every skin type and complexion concern. I'm not going to lie, these oils are not inexpensive but if my experience with the Flora is indicative of how all of the oils perform, they are all well worth the asking price and you should get one.

Do you use Sunday Riley face oils or other skin care? What are your favorites?

Nourish and Protect Your Tresses with Madam C J Walker Scent & Shine Oils

//products provided for consideration//affiliate links are in use// shopping trough affiliate links help support this site//

I was recently introduced to Madam C J Walker Beauty Culture when I had the opportunity to Review their Brassica Seed & Shea Oils Silkening Leave In and Blow Out Creme. I fell hard for those products; the feel, the delicious scent and of course the fact that they work. When the chance to experience and share the Madam C J Walker Nourish & Shine Oils came along, I jumped at it.

Three beautiful oil blends contain natural ingredients including Coconut, Brassica (Broccoli) Seed, and  Jamaican Black Castor Oils that nourish, restore, soften and add shine and life to my dry, bottle blonde tresses. Natural scent notes of Amber, Warm Musk, Sweet Vanilla, Gentle Woods, Sugar and Red Velvet softly fragrance my tresses without overwhelming or interfering with any other scents I wish to wear.

Each oil is packaged in a colour coordinated glass bottle with a pump dispenser to make delivery of these lovely oils easy and mess free. Klutzy creatures such as myself appreciate not having to deal with droppers and the risk of dumping oil all over our dressing tables. Or is that just me?

Natural oils are so good for hair; my stressed, bleached tresses drink them up and look and feel so much prettier and silky-smooth. Oils are ideal for curly hair, making your spirals and coils look and feel shiny, soft and free of frizz.

First we have the Scent & Shine Jamaican Black Castor Oil. Very thick and a little sticky, this oil is created with dry, very curly to tightly coiled hair in mind. This oil is too rich for my own hair for after wash use or styling but it is fantastic as a pre wash treatment for my distressed ends and crunchy canopy. The sensual Amber and Warm Musk scent add to the pleasure of the treatment.

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend).

Scent & Shine Coconut Oil is created with coconut oil, an oil that can penetrate the hair shaft to give deep treatment, seal in moisture and soften my dry hair while I enjoy the lovely scent of Sweet Vanilla and Gentle Woods. (Yes, this is a woodsy-ish scent that I like.)

Capric/Caprylic Triglycerides (Coconut Oil), Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend).

Of the three oils, the Scent & Shine Brassica Seed Oil is my favorite. Coconut and Brassica (Broccoli) Seed Oils combine to nourish and protect my hair from heat styling and leave it looking and feeling like a New Thing. The luscious Spun Sugar and Red Velvet Cream scent is one that I would never, in a million years tire of.

Capric/Caprylic Triglycerides (Coconut Oil), Fragrance (Essential Oil Blend), Brassica Oleracea ltalica (Broccoli) Seed Oil.

Madam C J Walker Scent & Shine Oils are formulated without Parabens, Silicones, Sulfates, Phthalates, Alcohol, Mineral Oil, Artificial Colours or Fragrances. Madam C J Walker Hair Care is Cruelty Free.

Are you using Madam C J Walker Beauty Culture Hair Care? What is your hair type and what are your favorite products from this gorgeous line?

Marini Holiday Exfoliator is a lush treat for your face. This limited edition scrub combines Glycolic Acid and Proteolytic Enzymes including Papain from green, unripened Papayas and Bromelain from Pineapple to gently yet effectively exfoliate, brighten, refine skin texture and improve the appearance of pores. Dimethicone filled particles are gentle physical scrubbers that release a skin protectant that provides a silky finish.

Marini Holiday Exfoliator contains cocoa powder, not artificial colour or fragrance. Real chocolate. Chocolate contains Flavonols, powerful Antioxidants that help your skin to protect it's self from UV damage, fight free radicals and and increase blood flow for that coveted youthful, dewy glow. And let's get honest, here. What makes us happier than the scent of real, lush chocolate?

Water/Aqua/Eau, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Fruit Powder, Glycolic Acid, Polylactic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Hexyl Laurate, Sorbitol, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lauryl Glucoside, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit, Pectin, Glycerin, Papain, Bromelain, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Dehydroxanthan Gum, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Sucrose, Maltodextrin, Palmitic Acid, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Sorbate, Benzyl Alcohol, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol

Due to the natural fruit acids in this scrub, you may experience mild tingling or stinging. This is normal, very temporary and should not linger. A little surface pink or redness is also normal and again, shouldn't last for long. If you have very sensitive skin, test in a small spot and carefully assess any reaction before you use this scrub all over your face. Glycolic Acid exfoliates and encourages the production of new fresh skin that should be assiduously protected with a high SPF sunscreen (I recommend mineral, of course), every day.

Marini Holiday Exfoliator is Paraben Free and kind to furry creatures. Are you ready to treat yoself or someone you love? Head over buy one for you and one for someone you love!

What I Bought During the Sephora VIB Rouge Sale

//affiliate links are in use//shopping through trusted affiliates helps support this site//

The Semi-Annual Sephora VIB Rouge Sale has come and gone and, if you read this post you know that I had (okay, still have) quite the beauty Loves List from which I culled some of my most wanted goodies to share with you. So... How did I do? How many of the pretties on my list did I snap up? More than I anticipated, as it turns out. I would have done even more damage but a couple of the items I shared were sold out by the time I was ready to pull the trigger on my order.

Sold out items aside, I think I did alright for myself. I stocked up on a few staples, bought some new to me goodies to try and treated myself to some lovely little splurgy items I don't usually buy unless I have a gift card or it's VIB sale time. Items marked with an asterisk were in my VIB Sale Wishlist post.

Shall we begin with skin care?

Masks! Hey, it was sale time so of course I had to stock up on masks. Sephora Collection Face Masks are so lovely, offer real results and they are super affordable, too. I always pick up a few when I place a Sephora order. The Rose are my favorite. I also love the Lotus and Avocado. I decided to grab a Honey, to try and a few of the Rose Eye Masks to test drive as well. I was intrigued by the Boscia Tsunaki Oil Deep Hydration Hydrogel Mask so I popped one into my cart so that I can see if it really is as hydrating as they claim. I'll let you know.

On to makeups. This is where the rubber met the road and I went a little nuts. Considering my wish list, I think that I showed pretty admirable restraint.

  • Natasha Denona Eye Shadow Palette 5 - #8* Everyone is waxing rhapsodic over this brand's eye shadow formula and I finally couldn't stand it, any longer. I had to try! I thought that this little palette would be a good way to get acquainted with the brand.
  • Dior Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer Powder* I try to treat myself to a little something Dior, each sale. I like this brand but I can't go crazy buying it, all of the time.
  • BECCA Blushed With Light Palette* I love BECCA blushes and this palette treats me to three. Thankyouverymuch.
  • I needed another tube of the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ and I decided to pick up the Illumination in my shade, as well. I thought that it would be nice to mix them for a bit more dewy, hydrated finish for Winter.
  • Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick I received a tube of this foundation to try from Influenster. I adore the formula but the shade was a touch light for me so I bought one that I think will match me, better. I'll use the lighter shade for highlighting.
  • And of course, since November is my Birthday Month, I snagged my Beauty Insider Birthday Gift.

Last but not least, we have fragrance. I love to buy little bottles and coffrets because I can try and enjoy more scents and I'm not buying big bottles of scent I may not love.

A bit of damage done. Just a bit? Whatever. I regret nothing.

So, of the thirteen items in my original wishlist post, I bought five. Not too shabby. What did you pick up in the VIB sale? Is Ben judging you as hard as he's judging me, right now?

Do you like haul posts? Should I do them, more often? Please tell me what you think.

Foreo Day and Night Cleansers | My Notes

//products provided for editorial consideration//affiliate links are in use//

I have owned an original Foreo Luna (pictured - link is to the Luna 2) for a year and a half or so and I love, love, love it so when I received Foreo Day & Night Facial Cleansers created to work in harmony with the Luna I was excited and couldn't wait to try them.

From Foreo:
Designed to perfectly complement LUNA™ devices, the DAY and NIGHT CLEANSERS are customized to match the skin’s specific daytime and nighttime needs. With surprising transformative textures and unique formulas, they bring a uniquely sensorial experience for all skin types.

Both of these cleansers have soft, pretty scents that delight my senses as they pamper my skin and rinse away without lingering. Get Gorgeous On a Budget With Groupon

//this is a sponsored post - all opinions are mine//

I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy a spa or salon day but let's face it... The services we love to love don't come cheap. One of my favorite salon services is having my hair done. I admit, I have specific ideas about my hair colour and achieving it is quite the process. By the time I have highlights, several different colours applied and it's all dried, styled and fussed over, I can easily rack up a bill well in excess of two hundred dollars! The opportunity to relax and enjoy being pampered is well worth the cost but I admit, the chance to save some money on my favorite salon services can really help my budget.

One way to get gorgeous and save some serious moolah is with Health, Beauty & Wellness Groupons. Groupon is easy and free to sign up for. Just supply your e-mail address, Groupon finds your location and sends you e-mails with the latest offers and specials. You just look through, find the service you want and with just a click, claim your deal.

Groupon doesn't just save you money on salon and spa services. You can find swinging deals on family events and outings, fashion, accessories, items you need for your home, cars and pets, too. You can even find discounts for delicious casual and fine dining. What could be better than getting what you want and need and saving money, at the same time?

Do you use Groupon? What are your favorite ways to use it and save? Please do tell.

Bargain Beauty Find | Masqueology Cream Masks

//products sent for editorial consideration//affiliate links in use//

I don't know about you but one of my favorite skin care procedures is masking. When my skin is feeling very dry, a little rough and just stressed out, there is nothing like a soothing, hydrating mask to calm and rehydrate my complexion. I own and have tried a lot of masks and today, I'm sharing with you a couple that are not only effective, they are super affordable and easy for anyone to find and to buy.

I received a couple of masks from Masqueology to try. I was intrigued by some of the benefits promised by these budget friendly masks:

  • Moisturize and hydrate dry, tired skin
  • Calm and transform dry, sensitive skin
  • Diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hydrate and repair
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Help fade and protect against hyperpgmentation and dark spots
I received a Moisturizing Cream Mask and a Special Care Cream Mask to try. I have used, so far the Moisturizing Creme Mask.

After cleansing, I opened the packet and pulled out a sheet mask deeply saturated with a white, lightweight cream serum. After unfolding it, I set it into place and smoothed it down, making sure to get it in place just as I like. One thing I appreciated is that the extra sheet material from cutting out the eye holes is folded at the bottom of those holes and I made sure that those double, saturated areas were placed precisely under my eyes to get extra hydration to that delicate area.

The mask felt so lovely and cool, as it smoothed onto my face. The rich, creamy serum instantly went to work, dropping hydration and soothing comfort into my skin. I immediately felt my skin begin to calm and my stress began to melt away and I felt a little more relaxed and happy, as well. I left the mask on my face until it was nearly dry then peeled it off and gently patted and pressed the additional moisture into my skin. My complexion looked and felt pumped up, silky and brighter, ultra soft and deeply hydrated. The positive effects from this mask lasted for several days. Impressive, indeed for such an affordable treatment!

Masqueology makes many kinds of masks for different skin types and for different skin care concerns, including hand masksfoot maskseye gel masks, as well as skin care products. You can order from Masqueology in larger lots or buy in singles from WalMart. Connect socially on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

Have you tried these lovely and affordable masks? Think that you might pick some up and give them a go?

Mirabella Beauty Masquerade Collection for Holiday and Beyond

//products provided for consideration//

Mirabella Beauty has released a petite and incredibly beautiful collection for Holiday and I am rather in love with it.

Masquerade is a tight, four piece collection consisting of three eye shadows and a matte, red lipstick. The colours are vibrant and jewel toned and the finishes are sumptuous.

Let us first adore the Eye Lights Eye ShadowsMirabella does eye shadow right and their shadows are among my all time favorites. One reason is that they are so beautiful to look at! The surface of these shadows are pressed in a dimensional diamond pattern that was almost painful to mar, by touching it.

These three Prismatech shadows are ultra silky smooth, highly pigmented and offer beautiful payoff and long, crease and fade resistant wear. These shadows work together flawlessly but also work and play well with any other eye shadows you may wish to blend into the party. Smooth these shadows on with a finger or a brush, you can't go wrong.

Swatched, you can see the beautiful, smooth mineral formula and the silky, almost liquid shimmer effect delivered by Eye Lights.

  • Gilt is a delicate gold. This is a very wearable shade, not too warm or in the least bit brassy.
  • Mystery is a medium burgundy with a gorgeous golden shift.
  • Charade is a glorious emerald with a heart of darkness. My poor old camera really dropped the ball on this one. This shadow, in person tones far less blue and is more vibrant than my photos portray.

Let us continue on to the Crimson Modern Matte Lipstick. My sample arrived with the plastic, Modern Matte cap you see in the first photograph. I swapped it with the cap from my Colour Vinyl Lipstick so that I could throw it in my bag without having to worry about it coming open and wreaking havoc. Your lipstick will arrive with the cap shown in this photo.

If you read here with any regularity, you know that I tend to avoid most mate lipstick formulas because they murder my lips. Not so Crimson Modern Matte Lipstick. This lipstick has a creamy formula that delivers a matte finish that remains soft, almost balmy in feel and is extraordinarily comfortable, for a matte lip. I can wear this gorgeous red for hours and hours and when I remove it, my lips are still pretty happy. Amazing!

How'z about some swatch action? This gorgeous, beautifully balanced red is that nearly universally flattering shade that works for so many skin tones. Application is easy and smooth, a few precise swipes and I have full, opaque coverage. This matte is not flat, chalky or dry; it is ever so slightly satin and lively and it keeps my lips looking and feeling soft and pillowy, even hours later. Touchups are seamless without any weird lines of demarcation. There is a very light scent but it doesn't linger so sensitive beauties shouldn't have any difficulty with this lippie.

I applied Crimson Modern Matte with a coordinating red lip liner but no barrier pencil as I wanted to see how well it behaves. Turns out, beautifully! While there was some very minimal feathering into the tiny vertical lines along my upper lip line, this lipstick stays put. It doesn't transfer off onto my straw or coffee cup but it does leave a light kiss print. If you have given up on red lipstick because of feathering or because it wants to leave a trail, everywhere try this lipstick. Seriously. Try it! I'm willing to wager that you will love it as much as I do.

Do you like what you see? If you do, the Mirabella Masquerade Collection can be purchased from Mirabella Beauty. Mirabella Beauty is Cruelty Free.
