Jesse's Girl Glow Stix Liquid Crystal Lip Gloss is Festival Ready in a Flash
It's spring. Festival season is gearing up, summer is right around the corner and everyone (myself included) is going koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs over iridescent, shimmery, colour shifting makeup and the return of lush, glossy lips.

Jesse's Girl Glow Stix Liquid Crystal Lip Gloss, $9.95 - available also in store at Rite Aid drugstores - is an eight shade collection of duo and multi chrome colour shifting lip glosses that fall right in with this season's makeup trends.
Let's start with the packaging, shall we? The tubes are sleek, stylish squared off oblong clear acrylic with black caps that are the perfect size to slip into a clutch bag, purse, backpack or pocket without looking or feeling bulky. The applicator is a typical flocked doe foot that isn't, in my opinion the very, very best shape for this particular formula. I think, given the pigments used, a different shape would have perhaps applied these glosses more smoothly and evenly and with less work.
Applicator aside, the formula is lovely. It feels feather light and silky smooth on my lips without any hint of grit or texture from the shimmer particles. Comfortable and hydrating, I can wear these glosses all day long and they never dry out or stress my very sensitive lips. I have those oh-so-fun tiny lines feathering up from my lip line which can make wearing lip gloss a bit of a challenge. I deal with it by applying a good, clear barrier lip pencil to keep my gloss right where it belongs.
Most lip glosses don't have stellar wear time and the Glow Stix Liquid Crystal Lip Glosses are no exception. Honestly, I never expect long wear from my lip gloss so regular touchups don't bother me. These cruelty free glosses can be worn alone or over your favorite lipstick.
Billed as holographic, these glosses are actually iridescent shade shifters; nevertheless, every one of the eight colours in this collection is magically delicious. In the tube, they look very bright, intense and give off a beautiful glow. On my lips, the colours are more subtle, like a soft wash with a noticeable duo and multichrome metallic shift, depending on how the light hits it. If you have always wanted to try something different and new in lip colour but full on alternative shades feel too intimidating, these pretty glosses may be just the ticket.
Swatches are in the same order as the glosses are shown in the photo above. Aren't they pretty? As you can see, in the lip swatches, below (again, I have to apologize for my aging camera's fading abilities) the colours are very wearable but offer that hint of fun.
- Titania is predominately pink with a gold and gentle green shift.
- Cassiopeia is a swirly green, melon and gold dancing delight.
- Aurora is blue with a gold and green shift and, at just the right angle, a strong purple flash.
What do you think of the Jesse's Girl Glow Stix Liquid Crystal Lip Glosses? Have you tried them? I like them so much and recommend that you get some for yourself, while you can.
