summer is here

The heat is on and it's time to stock up on some new skin care and K Beauty treats are just the thing I need to pamper my summer stressed, dry complexion.

let's talk about K Beauty

K Beauty or Korean Beauty is an international sensation for good reason; the products and formulations are geared toward helping the user achieve the best skin of their life and they work. I have quite a few K Beauty and K Beauty inspired products in my skin care arsenal, especially essences, mists and masks because they deliver real results. One new to me K Beauty product is the Vitabrid Dual Masks for Brightening and Luminous Skin.

what you need to know

Vitabrid C 12 Dual Masks are the double purpose brightening and hydrating sheet masks that my complexion has been asking for. They are perfect for a fast, get me glowing treatment before a date night out or when my complexion just needs some extra love and attention from skin adoring active ingredients like: (from the Barneys New York website)

  • Vitabrid CG (Active & stable vitamin C) - Brightens skin, improves elasticity, and promotes regeneration.
  • Peptibrid - Regenerates and heals damaged skin, provides antioxidant protection

  • Stem Cell Triple Complex (Rubus Idaeus Callus Extract, Punica Granatum Callus Culture Extract, Hippophae Rhamnoides Callus Culture Extract) – Helps with skin regeneration and delivers antioxidant protection, supports elasticity and firmness
  • Peptide Complex (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5) - Promotes proliferation of collagen-boosting fibroblasts to reduce wrinkles
  • Niacinamide + Glutathione + Alpha-Bisabolol + Madecassoside - Brightens and inhibits pigmentation for a more even overall skin tone
  • Sodium Hyaluronate + Xylitol + Allantoin - Delivers moisture deep into the skin, hydrating it from the inside, out

how do I use them and how do they perform?

I like to keep my sheet masks in my skin care fridge, ready for an especially cooling and soothing experience. I gather together the tings I need, sit down at my dressing table and pluck a mask from the rack in the door of my little fridge, open the envelope and lay the soft, hypoallergenic microfiber mask that is generously soaked in the milky, cushioning serum on my face then smooth it down to hug every contour of my face. I love that this mask hangs in place so well and doesn't slide off of my face and down my neck. I mean, how annoying and definitely not relaxing is it, when that happens?

Once the mask is arranged to a nicety, it is time for a little chilled Rose Quartz Facial Roller action. I like to roll from my jawline, down my throat and neck, all the way around a couple of times, then go from jaw up, all over my face, to my temples, do my forehead then, flip the roller to the smaller stone and do around my eyes. Gentle reader, there are fewer experiences that feel more pampering and refreshing than a cold sheet mask and face roller on a hot day. You need to try it, you'll love it.

After I do my rolling, I pour the cool, excess serum out of the envelope and apply it to my throat, neck, decollete, hands and arms to give them a nice little treat, too. Now, it's time to grab an iced coffee, a good book or my phone, put my feet up and ignore the world for fifteen to twenty minutes. When the mask is done, I lift it off of my face and gently press in the serum on the surface of my skin. My complexion feels so soft, cool and refreshed and it looks dewy, plumped up and my fine lines and wrinkles are diminished. Best part is, my skin feels these effects for a good day or two, afterward.

the bottom line and where to shop

I like these masks so, so much, they are perfect to keep stashed in my skin care fridge, ready to help me look and feel my dewy, glowing best in just minutes. They really do work and I recommend them.

If you would like to try, you can buy the Vitabrid C12 Dual Masks from Barneys New York. A box of five masks is $35.00 which shakes out to $7.00 per mask. Not at all unreasonable for such a luxe and effective beauty treatment. You can also buy from the Vitabrid website where a box of five sheet masks is $35.00 or $28.00 and free shipping on auto delivery, a savings of 20%.

  3. I have a jade roller from Herbivore and even though I get monthly professional facials, I still indulge myself with at-home masks. There's something about it that's truly satisfying aside from the skincare aspect

  13. I never thought about keeping my sheet masks in the fridge. Such a great idea, especially during the hot summer months. I'm also going to start using my rose quartz roller after my masks treatments.

I love to know what you're thinking. I dig honest discourse and lively discussion, even a good debate. I do not dig hate speech or personal attacks either against myself or my gentle readers.
