help for stressed winter skin is on the way!

Sometimes, having very dry skin is a huge pain in my ass. Keeping my complexion happy, hydrated and protected in the dead of winter is a full time job. I have a tool in my skin care box that really helps.

what is it?

REN Clean Skin Care Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm, is a soft, emollient balm that contains enzymatically activated oils that help to nourish, hydrate, soothe and strengthen winter stressed skin. This effective balm is powerful to pamper my maturing, Sahara Desert dry complexion but it's gentle enough for even sensitive skin.

how do I use it?

I just set my finger on the surface of the balm and let the natural warmth of my skin start to soften and melt it then pick it up, rub it gently between my fingers on both hands until it melts into a thin oil then I gently tap and press it into my skin, where my complexion needs extra help. I especially like to use the balm around my eyes, across my forehead, on my cheeks, in the creases alongside my mouth and on my neck and upper chest. It doesn't take a lot for my skin to feel the relief and look softer and more plumped up. What I really love about the REN Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm is that I can use it all the way around my eyes and it never irritates my extremely sensitive peepers. Yes, if I rub my eyes, which I inevitably end up doing - because apparently I'm nothing but a huge baby - my eyes can get a little oily-cloudy for a few minutes but that is easily avoided. By not rubbing my stupid eyes!

so, what's in this stuff?

-Lipids of Activated Oils from Olive, Almond, Borage, and Linseed: Easily absorbed into the skin.
-Jojoba, Sun Flower Oil Complex, and Beta-Glucan: Support skin’s natural lipid balance to strengthen the skin’s protective barrier and alleviates signs of irritation from dryness.

Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glycerin, Water, Almond/Borage/Linseed/Olive Acids/Glycerides, Polyglyceryl-6 Distearate, Jojoba Esters, Oryza Sativa Starch, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Unsaponifiables, Glyceryl Caprylate, Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax, Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum (Fragrance), Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Tocopherol, Magnesium Carboxymethyl Beta-Glucan, Dehydroacetic Acid, Eclipta Prostrata Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Leaf Extract, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool. *100% Natural Fragrance.

If you have very sensitive skin or are avoiding essential oils, there are a couple, right at the end of the ingredients list. I don't see the use of them but I also don't really notice any effect from them.

here's the wrap up and where you can get it for yourself

REN Clean Skin Care Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm, $48.00 -1.02 fl oz  is a small amount of product that goes a very, very long way. I've been using mine for quite a while, now and it hardly looks as if much is gone. Because I don't want it to go over on me before I can use it up, I stash my jar in my skin care fridge to keep it fresh and effective for a long time. If you're curious about skin care fridges and how useful they can be in your beauty routine, I talk about my experience with mine, here

REN Clean Skin Care is cruelty free, packaged in partially recycled material printed with natural inks. Ren is free of petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, sulfates, synthetic colours, silicone, parabens and is vegan. You won't find glycols, diglycols, PEG's, PPG's, urea, D.E.A., T.E.A., PABA and other synthetic sunscreens (YAY!!!!) and a whole host of other things that you may not want in your skin care. If you would like to read the entire list, just hit one of the product links provided for more info.

REN is one of my favorite skin care brands and I don't just say that because I am incredibly lucky enough to get to work with them, from time to time. Yes, I have received samples from the company but I also buy my own products because their stuff is just that good and worth my limited and very precious beauty budget! If you haven't tried REN and you're intrigued, I encourage you to give their skin care a try. They have lines for a wide range of skin types and concerns and I'm confident that they have something that your skin would love.

I love to know what you're thinking. I dig honest discourse and lively discussion, even a good debate. I do not dig hate speech or personal attacks either against myself or my gentle readers.
