Face mists are one of my favorite skin care products and in my skin care fridge, milky, hydrating mists reign supreme. Two have risen to prominence, one is a savings sweetheart and the other is a boujie beauty. Both are splendid. Since I am a beauty on a budget, as much as I'd like to, I can't keep buying both so, I decided to put them to the test, head to head and choose the winner and that is the one that has earned it's place in my skin care arsenal. If you'd like to know which mist won, read on!

Time to Break it Down:

First up, we have the Pixi Skin Treats Hydrating Milky Mist, This cute, very shelfie-friendly plastic bottle is full of a pampering, soothing and hydrating mist that is a delight to my very dry skin. This delicately scented mist works beautifully for layering with my serums  and moisturizers or as a post makeup mist to set and melt that powdery look that I am not so fond of. In my opinion, this mist could be just a little bit richer, a little more... milky, if you will but overall, I love it and I enjoy it, so much.

Next up is the  Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. Oh, how do I love this mist? Let me count the ways... I love it's rich, beautiful formula full of nourishing and complexion loving ingredients, the lovely way it plumps and hydrates my skin and how it can set my makeup, just so. I also adore the scent. This mist smells like a rich person's face. Yeah, I said it. And it's true. It smells really, really good. The scent, like the Pixi, isn't overwhelming, and it doesn't linger for long.

What I don't appreciate so much with this product is that there is less than an ounce and a half in the heavy, luxe glass bottle with the snazzy gold cap, sprayer and trim and Gentle Reader, that sprayer is a bummer and a half! This is the second bottle of this mist that I've purchased and the sprayer on both have been unmitigated crap. They are inconsistent, spit out big drops all over and it takes forever to mist my whole face and decolletage. For the price, we should be getting more product and a sprayer that works flawlessly, from first spritz to last drop.

And the Winner is:

Pixi Skin Treats Hydrating Milky Mist. I'll bet that you thought that I was going to go for the Tatcha, didn't you? Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love the Tatcha but at the price, the small volume of product and the total fail of a sprayer, it just isn't worth so much of my very precious beauty budget. The Pixi mist is just as lovely, if a teeny bit less luxe but I enjoy the experience just as much and honestly, I love that I get so much more product for one third the price! To help save space in my skin care fridge, I committed the ultimate sin; I dumped the rest of my Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist into the bottle with my Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist and shook them together. I regret nothing and I am loving the mixture. From now on, I will be buying the Pixi.
