Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil Review
Facial oils are an integral part of my skin care routine. I've tried many, fallen in love with few. Today, I'm sharing my thoughts on a new to me face oil. Please read on to see what I think.
What Is It?
Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil Blend boasts a powerful mix of natural oils, including: Sweet Almond, Rosehip, Jojoba, Pomegranate Seed and Rose Geranium that, when combined and used consistently can help skin glow, enhance hydration and elasticity. Facial oil can seal in moisture, making skin look more plumped and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Facial oil can be used as a sole moisturizer, added to your favorite skin cream or patted on top of serums and moisturizer. I've also mixed a drop or two into my foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturizer to create a lovely, natural dewy glow and make them feel less drying.
Sensitivity alert: Pixi Rose Oil contains scented oils and Orange Peel Oil, which can be irritating to sensitive skin. If you are very sensitive or scent averse, this oil may not be right for you.
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil.
What Say I?
I received this bottle of Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil in my monthly Allure Beauty Box and I was delighted to see it. I'm a pretty hardcore devotee of the Pixi Skintreats Hydrating Milky Mist and I have a bunch of Pixi Skintreats on my Ulta Beauty wishlist! So many things I want to try. Anyway, back to the rose oil,,,
I am loving this stuff. The scent is a soft, slightly sharp and very pleasant rose geranium rosy type of smell, rather than a classic rose-rose. The oil feels so light, so soft and it slips gently across the skin then drops in, quickly to leave my complexion feeling and looking very soft, plumped up and glowing. I have extremely dry skin (sometimes I have to apply Vaseline over my skin care in the winter dry) and this oil easily passed my 24 Hour Test.
I applied this oil directly after my evening cleanse, as my sole skin care product, no toner, serums, mist or moisturizer. Just the oil. Because my skin is so dry, I typically apply more facial oil than someone with younger and less dry skin would but funny enough, I need a little less of this oil than I do other oils in my skin care arsenal. I like to gently pat and press the oil into my skin, including my eye area then, add a little more to leave a light film on the surface of my skin then leave it untouched for a full 24 hours. At the end of the test, my skin felt velvety soft, smooth and still looked plumped and glowy even tho every last trace of the oil had been absorbed. No, gentle reader, it did not come off on my pillow. I sleep on my back, like a vampire so that I don't add more gravitational pull to one side of my face or the other and my skin care stays on, it doesn't get eaten by my bedding.
The Wrap Up...
I love the Pixi Skintreats Rose Oil. It is effective, smells lovely, mixes with my moisturizer or does the job all on it's own. A full 1.1 fl oz bottle is $24.00. A once ounce bottle of face oil normally lasts me a good four to six months, making this a very wallet friendly skin pampering treat.
